Does Cheliax have its own Language?

Advice

I seem to remember reading in the gazeteer that they did, but I could be wrong. It would be cool if they had a variant of Taldane... They do seem to be the French to Taldors English... Let alone Absaloms Brittain...

Yes. I've seen it both as Khelish and Chelaxian.

The people of Cheliax speak Taldane, which is also the Common tongue.

I thought Kelesh was the language of the Keleshites.

It doesn't say that Chelaxians have their own language in the campaign setting, nor the Taldans. What is the other source that says they gain a language besides just common?

taldan is common and is spoken in most former Taldan lands. Chelax among them

Yeah, Kelish is apparently the language of Qadira. Also, the Campaign Setting lists the languages of Cheliax as Common (Taldan) and Infernal.

I know I've seen references to a Chelaxian language, though, and it's an option in Hero Labs when choosing languages.

References to "Chelaxian" as a language are errors.

The base language spoken by Chelish citizens, be they full-blooded Chelaxians or otherwise, is Common (AKA: Taldane). The high mucky-mucks in the Chelish government may at times speak Infernal, though.

Thanks James, that clears up my confusion...

Interesting. That both solves and creates questions in my next campaign regarding languages. Most of which I'm betting won't need to be asked here.
