Okay, I don't know what possessed me but I had an urge to stat up Maleficent, the evil sorceress/fairy from "Sleeping Beauty."

Maleficent was born into wealth and privalige. That all changed when she was 16 with the Red Revolution and her father's execution. Her mother took her Kyonin but it was a hard place for a half elven child. Maleficent grew bitter and vowed to be restored to her rightful place. She is a master manipulator and has been eyeing the River Kingdoms as a place to begin rebuilding her power.

My wife just read this and now I have to incorporate Malifencent into a game so my wife can attempt to destroy her. Thanks alot....

But seriously, GREAT job!


Do you really need Beast Shape I-II and Dragon Shape I when you have the higher-level versions? Beyond that, looks like a perfectly servicable character, if nothing else.

I totally love it! I am currently playing a venerable sorcerer witch in our current game and am drawing a lot of inspiration from witches in literature (especially from Disney).

Can you do Snow White's witch next by any chance?

You could use the AGP class for witch with a raven familiar, and poisibly splash assassin for poison use.

As I read the RAW, higher versions of the spell don't grant you the abilities of the lower level versions. Maybe I am misreading the spell description, or maybe I missed an errata, but that was the thinking behind the spell list.

Yeah, maybe remove Black Tentacles and add Bestow Curse instead.

Regarding Maleficent's spells known: a Sorcerer's spells known should be organic, reflecting the growth of the character's arcane knowledge. I don't see the problem with her knowing lower level versions of her spiffiest spells - after all, she may dole out (if she had any item creation feats) magical trinkets with her lower-end spells built into them to enhance her mini-onions, for example.

Yes, but I could see how for a BBEG, people would not want repetition in the spell list.

Then let them make thier own! *evil laugh* It's your BBEG, make it the way you wish to. maybe she wants to reserver her higher level spell slots.

I'm really leery about using a feat to bypass the consequences of a character design choice. the feat is intended for classes that would ordinarly NEVER receive a familliar.

I deliberately did not give her a familiar. Diablo seemed more like a treasured pet that had been trained to do some tricks, rather thn a familiar.

I can't see a single spell that she can use her Maximise Spell Feat on given it's 3 level cost.
