Unique Trait: Siren's Bosom (Social) - Opal is blessed with above average sex appeal. This grants her 'Charming' trait an additional +2 bonus (for a total of +3). As a downside to this trait all of her clothing and armor must be specifically fitted for her, costing as if it were for a humanoid one size larger than normal.

Opal is from Suldaran, a rich kingdom that rests upon temperate isles. More a resort than an actual kingdom it is easily said that nothing 'exciting' ever happens there. The people want for little, the days are long and sunny nad even the laborers tend to take more days off for fishing or relaxing than other nations would find acceptable.

Born with snow white hair and a sirens' beauty Opal seemed destined for a life entertaining others in one of Suldaran's many theaters. She had other idea's however. Blessed with an abundance of brains to match her abundance of... well, 'upper body charisma' she was determined to set out and prove to herself and the Suldaran people that she was more than just a perky smile and something to be gawked at.

She hopes to write a masterpiece that details her adventures across the world, a book to end all books. However, with nothing but some fencing training and less than courageous drive to hunt down smelly lairs and beasts that would love nothing more than to pick her bones clean , she finds herself needing an adventuring party.

Obsessed with literature in all its forms and utterly devoted to her life's project, she seems particularly absent minded at times. While exploring with a group of adventurers she can usually heard mumbling every word she's jotting down in some epic prose, making surprising enemies difficult with her around.

Unique Trait: Litany of Curses (social) – Chethren has the glorious ability to get under peoples skin, anyone’s skin really… with a barrage of insults and curses that are so utterly foul and tasteless even dwarven sailors blush at the sound of one of his verbal lashings.

When the mood strikes him Chethren lets fly a series of taunts that enrage his enemies, luring them to him but also causing them to make mistakes. Any enemy Chet targets (usually within 6-8 squares) who fail a Will save (DC 10 +1/2 Chet’s level + Charisma Modifier) turns their attention on the young rogue. Enemies enraged by his taunts seek him out to the exclusion of most threats and gain a +2 morale bonus on their attacks against him but suffer a –2 penalty to their armor class. Additionally, enraged foes who miss Chet by 5 or more on an attack roll leave themselves open to attacks more easily, allowing him to immediately make use of his Opportunist rogue talent, this does not allow him anymore Opportunist attacks than he’d normally be capable of. If a taunted opponent rolls natural ‘1’ against him he may apply sneak attack damage to the Opportunist attack.

Experience: 10,420 / 15,000

Raised in the slums of a city called Saltmarsh, Chet learned early that if he wanted to survive after his parents death that he'd have to do things he might not like. As with all people who turn to thievery (either by choice or circumstance) he learned that the more he did it, the easier it became. Petty theft became his life, a few coppers here, a couple silvers there and before he knew it he had enough for a meal.

Life hasn't been easy on poor Chethren, barely over the age of 15 and the tough youth can already add extortion, theft, burglary, and smuggling to his resume. Recently he's started a small 'gang' of street kids who are all orphans like himself, remembering what it was like to starve and freeze on cold nights he and his little gang of urchins have come together for survival and companionship.

Truth be told Chethren is of noble blood. When his father had a drunken union with one of the cooks she was cast out into the street with nothing when she informed him she was with child. She told Chet his father was dead and died herself shortly after he was five years old. Unbeknown to Chet he is heir to a glorious fortune and massive estate. Were he to learn what his father did however, his revenge would be swift and bloody.

Unkempt and as undignified as a person be, Chethren is a young man of 15 with oily brown hair and a rarely washed face. Cocky and headstrong after years of doing what it takes to survive Chet rarely backs down from challenges, especially if they involve the possibility of his orphan friends coming to harm. He speaks with slang filled confidence and scoffs at other people's ignorance and although he posseses a good heart himself he despises do-gooders and bleeding hearts.

Great idea for a thread Heartbaine.

My only question is either you have a tremendous patience for this forum software or you've found a good way to enter formatted text. If the latter, please share.

Failing that is there a good place to enter characters stats etc... We could post them there and talk about them here.

Sigurd

I have a template that's already coded for use on the forums, all I really do is fill in the blanks and then copy and paste it from Word. Since it's already formatted it goes a lot faster.

If you like, just 'quote' my above post with the stat blocks. It includes the coded format in a quote, so if you wanted to contribute just delete the stuff you don't need.

Chet was just filled in over Opal (which is why they have the same amount of money :) ). And hey, if you don't feel like messin' with it (and I wouldn't blame ya) I don't mind adding more for people to use. I enjoy making NPCs and giving them all manner of unique (or not so unique) traits that GMs can use to keep PCs guessing.

Also keep in mind that I don't make NPCs 'to win' or pile on the most 100% efficient means to take advantage of everything they possibly could. Feats and skills are usually selected based on the NPCs personality, not what might give them the biggest bonus.

Sometimes all we need is an idea to start with, so if you see something in an NPC I've made but it doesn't fit your gaming style, change it! Seriously, I mean it, these are here for all of us to enjoy.

How about adding this to the Pathfinder Database?

You are wise Hartbaine san. You can make us go.

Great idea.

Although I think a database or wiki works even better.

BACKGROUND

I cleared out the content to a more condensed, generic form since quoting either of the existing NPCs gets the template parsed a bit. Quoting this one should get the template in its entirety.
