The first option says the Ranger can use a move action to grant the bonus to allies within 30 feet. It does not state how long this gift lasts.

I would assume that it lasts until the ranger's next turn.


I was wondering the same thing. The duration is certainly missing.

Or it could be a certain number of rounds based on level, or ability bonus, or something completely arbitrary.

Really, a successful playtest needs this answered. The longer the duration, the more potent this ability becomes.

Also, if its a relatively short duration it opens the door for feats augmenting the duration as well.

It also needs to be clarified as to how it works. As written, it doesn't seem to require that the target be a favored enemy of the ranger, just that the ranger has favored enemies in general, so you just have to guess that it uses the highest favored enemy bonus.

Some idea of the flavor of how it works would also be nice. As it stands, it looks like the ranger just concentrates on his Awesome Racism Powers and all his friends get Racism bonuses to their attacks.

I understood that the target must be the ranger's Favored Enemy. Also, I *think* the duration for the bonuses is intended to be 1 round.

Racism? Never crossed my mind. I think the flavour texts will be added later -- as Jason has said, his priorities lie in getting the "prime" mechanics finished as soon as possible.

Well the way I read it it seems that if the ranger has a favored enemy bonus (i.e. you are fighting a creature with which you gain your bonus) you can use a move action to give all allies within 30 feet half that specific bonus to fight that creature. I believe it lasts until he selects another target or the creature falls, which makes sense if you are only able to do it when you have a favored enemy bonus that applies. and it's only half what you get.

I think the flavor is obvious, the allies have to be able to see or hear him, so he is using his move action to basically yell out and signal the creatures tender bits, and the reason it's half is that the other players can only target the general area of said tender bits, while the ranger can pinpoint them.
