Kobold Quarterly #15 is here!

Every GM loves traps. They are so impersonal that when a player foolishly falls prey to one, they can only blame themselves for the demise of their favorite character. But good traps are hard to create and even harder to pull off, so the folks over at Open Design decided to give them a good once-over in Kobold Quarterly 15.

Fans of the Pathfinder RPG will be interested in the articles on variant druid classes; the ecology of the giant ant; 12 lethal pit traps; tactical maneuvers for groups; 10 weapons from the history books; expanded criticals; and a new forest-based bloodline, domain and wizard's school.

Those of you who play 4E will want to check out the articles on expanding mounted combat; mechanical traps for PCs; 15 new skills stances; the Horakh from the King of the Monsters column; and the Jack in the Trap.

And of course, there is a bunch of system-neutral content as well! Monte Cook talks about simulating game reality; there is an interview with Margaret Weis; a look at dungeons that make use of the vertical dimension; and Wolfgang looks at the Cartways for Zobeck.

All in all, another great issue for Kobold Quarterly!

That cover is just too damned sexy.

Thanks, it's by one of the greats in gaming, William O'Connor, and we are thrilled to have it.

You might recognize some of Mr. O'Connors work from a little company in Renton that does this card game....

downloaded my copy, waiting for my monthly Paizo shipment to burn a new DVD for work.

just hit me... this dead tree copy won't go disappearing on me. *sigh*

Just finished thumbing through the new KQ, if it had "Wormy" or "Whats New,with Phil and Dixie" it would be perfect.

If I could make that happen, I would, but David Trampier is out of the cartooning business for good, and Phil Foglio is drawing the brilliant Girl Genius these days, so.... Times change.

HOWEVER! As a super-secret announcement shared only here on the Paizo boards: There's a new toon under consideration at the KQ HQ.

I can't say much, but it's a strip, it is undergoing the editorial trial-by-fire, and it might appear in the Winter issue. (If it survives!)
