I was thinking one of the class combinations you really cannot effectively do with our current pathfinder rule set is a combination Sorcerer/Oracle. If you do go into Mystic Theurge( Sorcerer 4 Oracle 4, Mystic Theurge, You won't be able to get into the class until 9th level. You won't have access to 3rd level spells until 11 level I think.
If you use the FAQ clarifications, you can substitute a spell like ability for a requirement. So for example, using an Aasimar variant blodline gives you access to a spell like ability of a 2md level spell which would be considered arcane. You might be able to have a 4th level oracle/1st level Sorcerer-Mystic Theurge. I think you would only suffer the loss of one level for your oracle spell casting progression, and your sorcerer spell casting progression would be 4 levels behind your total class level.
Now Paizo has produced a Hybrid class- the Fighter Mage (or Magus as it is called). Soon they will put out a great big book of 10 new Hybrid classes. The Arcanist amongst them.
Concerning class design It seems first you pick the Base attack Bonus and Hit die progression. Next you pick the Saving Throw progression. Next you pick the Spells Per day Schedule....Ranger with up to 4th level spells, the bard with 6th level spells, and the wizard with 9th level spells.
Next comes the meat and potatoes of the class: you have an expendable pool of points with which you empower some special abilities. There is usually a menu of abilities to choose from.
So I guess this a long way of asking How might we go about making a Sorcerer/ Oracle Hybrid?
What do you all think?

Yes thank you for your thoughts and suggestions. If I have any more ideas about putting together a hybrid of a sorcerer and oracle, I'll put the ideas up here.
and Imbaticus, I don't feel a "witch" archtype will cover what I am thinking of. I like the blood lines and mysteries, revalatiosn and oracle curses. I wouldn't want to discard them.

I was thinking of the spell list, and the fact that Hexes are equivalent to Mystery revelations and superior to Bloodline abilities.
But if you want something that has the benefit of revelations and curses with a hybrid spell list, the Elven Ancient Lorekeeper is a good option. You gain the revelations of your mystery, but bonus spells of whatever sorcerer spell you want at one level higher.

Yeah add in Eldritch Heritage: Arcane and be a half-elf ancient lorekeerper. TGhen make sure to take the paragon surge spell. Heck be a lunar mystery and have an animal companion. You get full access to the wizard.sorcerer spell list, a familiar, an Animal companion...the most magical

XigXag is a PFS hybrid Oracle-Sorcerer gnome. He recently re-trained to power-down, as he was too capable. Salient points:
1. Build SAD. All Charisma, with enough CON to not die.
1. Start with one level of Oracle of Heavens (Dual-cursed archetype). His two Revelations (one via feat or magic item) are Misfortune and Awesome Display. the cream of the crop.
2. Take all other levels as a Sorcerer of the Sylvan archetype. Combine with Boon Companion for a full animal companion right from the start. Take Color Spray, as you already have Awesome Display goodness for it. You get Color Spray at 2nd level, same as if you remained an Oracle.
Special nasty tricks XigXag can do:
- Anything without great will saves is pretty much &^(*^&^. Command, Murderous Command, and your super-awesome color spray all have high DCs. Misfortune lets you force a re-roll as an Immediate Action. Use Persistent Spell if possible. Foes will need to make multiple consecutive high-DC will saves or die ...
- Ride your Animal Companion for mobility and protection, especially if you took the Lame curse.
- Choose a pet that trips on a charge (e.g. wolf, axe-beak, etc.) and cast Truestrike on your Animal Companion, using the Share Spells ability. Your pet now gets +20 on its charge/trip combo. That foe will be prone.
Extra Cheese that XigXag trained out of, because it was too powerful:
- Take one level as a Cleric of Horus for a Hangover Cleric build. Choose the Rulership Variant Channel and channel negative, for the Daze effect. Take the Selective Channel feat. You now have a very effective AoE save-or-suck ability with a high DC and many uses. With the Quick Channel feat you can do it as a Move action. You can potentially force a BBEG to make four consecutive high-DC will saves in one round, else lose the fight. The big problem with this power is that it's easy to annoy other players with your outrageous Save-or-die might. XigXag wound up holding back so much with this ability that he decided to train out of the cleric level.
