Well, there was a Pathfinder Society rule that animal companions with an Int of at least 3 could 'activate' magic items like Ioun Stones; I just wanted to make it 'official' by turning it into a Trick. Don't worry - I wasn't trying to get Shadow to do something ludicrous like use a wand ;-)

Thanks for the game! I am incredibly glad that the final fight did *not* end up being a TPK! I shudder to think what would have happened if we had not taken that thing down this round...

Going for broke, Seif-al-Din moves forward, and targets the creature with another Burst of Radiance. Spell Resistance: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10. Spell Resistance, Borrow Fortune: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25. DC 17 Reflex, or be Blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 2 (Dazzled for the same duration on a success). If they are Evil, they *also* take 5d4 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 1, 3) = 8 damage, no save. Well, that is far from ideal on the damage roll :-/
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Slightly concerned by what is going on, Seif-al-Din tries to buff the party a little. "May the Blessings of the Dawnflower be upon us." Bless. That makes Malgrim's attack a 21, and hopefully gives Gnasher a slight edge, too!
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Seif-al-Din winces at Malgrim's remark. "Well, I was trying to *not* mention that, but yes, as it happens, one of them has been eviscerated, and the other rendered into goo, so it would be difficult for us to acquiesce to that particular request."
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
I doubt it. At the time, Paizo did not have the license to use that particular piece of IP. Something like a Denizen, however, might be possible; I remember them showing up in scenarios for PFS.

Will(Seif): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17.
Yes to the non-lethal. I worried it might be immune, but there wasn't anything I could do about that... Shadow keeps tearing into the aberration. Bite, Divine Favor: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 2 = 29, for 1d8 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (1) = 12 damage.
Meanwhile, Seif-al-Din defensively casts a spell... Concentration: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27 Vs. DC 17. ...enveloping Shadow in the defensive cladding of Shield Companion.
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Will (Seif): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26.
Awaking up, Seif-al-Din sees that the conscious world is equally full of nightmares (getting a bit of a headache in the process). "Shadow! Shambulio!" He then casts a spell defensively... Concentration: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21 Vs. DC 21. ...enveloping Father Jackal and his pet lion in a Burst of Radiance. DC 17 Reflex, or be Blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 4 (Dazzled for the same duration on a success). If they are Evil, they *also* take 5d4 ⇒ (1, 2, 1, 4, 1) = 9 damage, no save. Shadow then charges the thing... Bite, Charge, Divine Favor: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 2 + 2 = 18, for 1d8 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 7 + (5) = 19 damage.

RAW, even a high-Int Animal Companion is hobbled by their Tricks - so it *does* default to Guard, but if it is not attacked directly, and I am not either, it shouldn't take any actions. At least, that is how it was handled in PFS 1 games...? Frustratingly, if I had had a chance to direct Shadow to attack *before* falling asleep, it wouldn't be a problem :-/
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Seif-al-Din: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17.
Shadow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23.
Seif-al-Din and Shadow weather the mind-shock from the aberration, and then immediately fall asleep when they near Father Jackal.

Hmm. Can't do Endure Elements, but... Seif-al-Din pumps some more magical energy into Rayhan. Infernal Healing, Lesser Restoration, and Resist Energy(Cold). He then smiles, not showing a shred of warmth. "Not yet, but we are working on it. Rest assured, we will be collecting... interest... from them."
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Once Rayhan has been extracted, Seif-al-Din immediately gives him a magical once-over. Lesser Restoration: 1d4 ⇒ 3 Ability damage restored, and eliminating Fatigue, or reducing Exhaustion to Fatigue. Infernal Healing: 10 damage healed. "Do you wish us to escort you to the surface now, or wait until we have... dealt... with 'Father Jackal'...?"
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Fort (Seif-al-Din): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19. Fort (Shadow): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28. Oof. By the skin of my teeth! Barely resisting the power of the eye, Seif-al-Din casts Burst of Radiance again, desperately trying to blind it! DC 17 Reflex, or be Blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds (Dazzled for the same duration on a success). If they are Evil, they *also* take 5d4 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 1, 3) = 11 damage, no save.
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Fort (Seif-al-Din): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24. Fort (Shadow): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26. Seif-al-Din casts Burst of Radiance again. DC 17 Reflex, or be Blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 1 (Dazzled for the same duration on a success). If they are Evil, they *also* take 5d4 ⇒ (3, 4, 2, 4, 4) = 17 damage, no save.
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Vaguely being aware that more-than-two-eyes-is-bad, Seif-al-Din targets it with another blinding blast. Burst of Radiance. DC 17 Reflex, or be Blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 2 Rounds (Dazzled for the same duration on a success). If they are Evil, they *also* take 5d4 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 1, 3) = 11 damage, no save.
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Seif-al-Din wrinkles his nose in disgust. "Someone has a decidedly warped taste when it comes to internal decor." Whether he is referring to the art, or the piles of corpses, is left deliberately ambiguous.
(AC 25/16/20; HP 86/86; Fort +6, Ref +10, Will +7; Init +7, Perception +0, CMD 12) Samsaran Oracle (Dual-Cursed) 9
Spellcraft(Wand): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24.
"Fair enough. The fully-charged Wand of CMW might be useful, though." That means 10 charges, right?
