Entiren Vraken's page

Entiren will move down to the statue's ground-level entrance along with Irhok'zath, reading his rifle but not aiming it at anything in particular yet. As the herd of quadrupeds enter the clearing, he tries to determine what he can about them as those around him do the same.

Everything he found out had already been done so.

Keeping his rifle aimed low at the ground, Entiren will look out over the growing herd. "Hopefully whatever it is that has them all riled up as they are isn't us. I don't think we would fare so well if that was the case."

Entiren will also take a rest, with that fight having taken more out of him than he had hoped for.

Spending 1 RP to take a 10 minute rest to regain Stamina.

Seeing that the sniper is currently engaged, Entiren will leave his current sheltered position in order to get a somewhat easier shot. Moving up to the edge of the main plaza area, he levels his rifle in their direction and fires off a single laser shot.

In new position the sniper should only be in Entiren's second range increment.

"Okay Lauren. I won't be going far though, that is a long field to cross right now." Entiren will then quickly move towards the cover offered by the nearby wall, leaving an opening for Lauren to move to when she can. take a quick glance around the battlefield, taking a moment to see where everyone is. Just making out the figures climbing the arm of the reclining elf, Entiren will target the one that he doesn't recognize.

Entiren looks over at Diedre with a slightly confused expression. "Um, thanks?" After a moment of pausing to see how he feels, he then continues with "I feel terrible, but I don't think the Sky Fisher's poison caught hold. I think that I should go heal Lauren, she doesn't seem too good." Entiren will walk over to where Lauren is on the ground, reaching over and sending a pulse of magical healing energy into her bell.

Landing on the ground with a heavy thud, Entiren lays still for a moment before letting out a faint groan followed by "Oww." He then slowly stands back up, clearly in some amount of pain. Even so, he aims down at the Sky Fisher's lasso that is still connected to him, firing a single laser blast into it in an attempt to burn it away.

I've got two questions before I figure out what to do for my upcoming turn.
1) How close together would Entiren be to Lauren?
and
2) Would it be possible to remove our entangled conditions by burning/cutting away the lasso's still?

Entiren grits his teeth as he feels the sky fishers beak bite into him, feeling something else go into the wound as well. However, he feels nothing happen immediately, assuming that he is unaffected by whatever it was.

For when my turn comes up:

Right up under the body of the sky fisher, and near to its large mouth, Entiren has few options remaining to him. As such, he swings his head up and attempts to gore the immense creature with one of his horns.

Unarmed Strike vs KAC (+flank, -Entangled): 1d20 + 4 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 2 - 2 = 16
Damage (P): 1d3 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Getting pulled up further into the sky, Entiren shouts up at the Sky-fisher "Let go of us, you big slimy sky-monster!" As he does so, his horns light up with pinpricks of energy, which then shift to collect into three small spheres of light. With a flick of his head, he sends these shooting up into the body of the Sky-fisher.

Feeling himself pulled up higher into the sky, Entiren still struggles against the tendril hauling himself up into the air as he tries to continue aiming upwards at the tendril pulling up Lauren. Due to his lack of success in hitting it before, he takes longer lining up his shot this time.

Life Science: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22 If given a preference, Entiren would like to know about how it was hiding in the sky.

Looking up just after the twinned blows from the sniper and whatever the thing in the sky is, Entiren tries to quickly see what he can tell of this creature. Suddenly remembering a little about it, he calls out to the others "This thing is a sky fisher! You can sever the filaments with blades or heat, nothing else will have much of an effect!"

That said, Entiren twists around, struggling against the filament that struck him, aiming his rifle at the filament lifting Lauren into the air. He takes two quick shots, but his aim is thrown off, resulting in both shots going wide.

Entiren sticks in place, taking another shot at the sniper from where he is.

He then tries to look up in the sky, trying to see if he can spot whatever may have attacked Diedre and Lauren. If possible, he tries to think of what this creature might be.

Entiren runs up towards the crumbling wall that Diedre and Lauren are near, not quite getting up to it. As he goes, he pulls out his laser rifle and attempts to return fire at the sniper.

If the sniper is in the statue's head, they should be at the far end of the second range increment for a Laser Rifle.

I believe that my pre-combat check was enough to spot them, but in case another perception is necessary:

Entiren quickly looks towards the statue as Diedre is pulled into the air by something, guessing that if there is a sniper there they might use this opportunity to try and take out members of the group.

Survival: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25

Just spotting someone, he says to those who are within earshot "There is someone in the statue's head. If they are a sniper, they will be able to hit us no matter how we approach."

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Entiren looks towards the far end of the valley, looking for the structures the others have pointed out. "I think I can see the structures as well. And hopefully you are right Diedre."

Noting Lauren attempting to cast a Life Bubble spell while struggling with her illness, Entiren will move over to be beside her. "Lauren, I can cast the spell for today, so don't worry about that. You've got enough to deal with as it is, so don't put yourself thorough too much stress." Entiren will then cast a Life Bubble on her as well as three others of the group.

Casting it on whoever has only 1 day at this point, giving Lauren and three others 4 days of protection. The other three will have 2 days still.

Entiren will nod at Miraj's assessment. "Yes, the morning will hopefully see you healthy again."

Later, after sitting for a while, Entiren will walk over towards Johnny and offer to heal is injuries that he suffered in the recent fight.

Entiren would use Healing Touch to fully heal Johnny's HP damage.

After the Renkroda falls, Entiren will take a moment to take a few deep breaths as he recovers from the effect of the animal's roar. After a few moments, he goes to store his weapon in his tent, before heading over to where Miraj is treating both Lauren and Ralkawi. As the Rhyphorian is suffering from the same ailment, Entiren will go about treating him once Miraj has finished up with the other two.

Taking 10
Medicine: 10 + 6 = 16

He then goes to sit near his tent, tired from several days of hiking through the wilderness and dealing with the creatures that inhabit it.

Alright. I was wanting to check on that before making any rolls for the Medicine check, as I wouldn't want to potentially fail it and have Miraj be diseased for that much longer.

Also, for Entiren's spells:

Entiren feels the Renkroda resist his second attempt to psychically damage it as he pulls his mind back. Even though he knows that it is just as likely to resist any further castings of Mind Thrust that he attempts, he decides to attempt it one more time.

Shaken by the Renkroda's roar, Entiren focuses his mind on the large creature. Connecting with it, he tries to overwhelm its thoughts with a wave of mental information.

As he hears the roar from the jungle, Entiren quickly get back out of his tent, grabbing his rifle and turning to look towards where he thinks the roaring is coming from. Hearing Irhok'zath call out what sounds like a creature name, he thinks for a moment, but can't place what it refers to. "What are those Irkok'zath? I've not heard of them before."

Entiren glances around as the forest grows quiet around the group, unnaturally so for what they had experienced so far. Glancing up, he spots something drifting through the air. Recognizing it for what it is, he almost panics for a moment before remembering the spell around him. "So, not to alarm anybody, but there is a moldstorm approaching." He gestures up towards the drifting pink clouds. "The Life Bubble spells around us should serve as good protection against this. Does anyone not have the spell on them? If not say so now." If someone doesn't have the spell on them, Entiren will move to them and cast it to provide protection from the approaching moldstorm.

Entiren listens intently to Ralkawi as she speaks her view on The Devourer. After a moment of thought, he says "It was good to hear that, as much as any of us may disagree with it. I know that if I were in her position, I wouldn't want people to just stand around talking about my beliefs without letting me give my view on the matter." He then goes back to working with Irhok'zath to guide the group to the evenings camp.

Once they have set up camp for the evening, Entiren will see what he can do to treat the disease affecting Lauren and Miraj.

Once done with performing their checkups, Entiren will walk over to Diedre holding a small, nondescript package in his hands. "Diedre, I noticed that you gave your Aeon Stone to Ralkawi so that she won't need to eat. However, since now you will need to, here is this to help you with this." He holds out the weeks worth of field rations. "I could hold onto it if you want, but I thought you might prefer holding onto it yourself."

As they continue walking through the jungle, Entiren thinks about what he can remember of the Devourer and its associated cults. "I can't say much about the cult itself, but I do know some about the Devourer. There are some debates as to what it actually is, where it came from, that kind of stuff. The most common idea put forward that I am aware of is that it isn't quite a deity, but is more just a primal force that has existed since the beginning of the universe itself. A force of malicious destruction, that seeks to destroy everything that dwells within the universe until nothing is left. Just... wiping the universe clean." He pauses in thought for a moment. "So it it probably less that they want everything to go 'boom', and more for everything to go 'crunch', as the Devourer is strongly associated with black holes."

He pauses for a moment before speaking again. "As for why people might be attracted to this idea, I could also see people who have felt wronged by the universe as a whole turning to the Devourer as a way to get back at it. That is just a guess though. Some people may also view their soul as being tired, and may be trying to avoid the cycle of souls by hastening the end of everything around us."

"Yeah, of course Diedre. I'll see if we can get it out of sight, but by how large it is I doubt the two of us will be able to take it far." Entiren will go see about getting Johnny to help him drag the carcass a short ways back down the trail, before returning to camp. Before retiring for the night, right when the night sky above begins filling with stars for the night, he will channel his connection to the points of light above to heal his remaining wounds.

Now at 22/24 HP. The remaining two will heal overnight unless we are interrupted.

Looking up as he hears the crashing noises, Entiren is just able to notice the charging creature through the surrounding trees. Focusing on his magical connection to the stars scattered throughout the galaxy, his horns begins faintly glowing as three small spheres of starlight collect just in front of and between the tips. After a moment, the spheres shoot off towards the oncoming creature

True. It had been a while though, and Entiren is going off a 'better safe than sorry' mindset at the moment.

Entiren will turn to Lauren. "Unfortunately, I left my medkit back on the ship, so as to cut down on the weight I would be carrying. Even without it, I can give you and Diedre a quick examination while Miraj is busy treating her. I could get to him once he is done there, although I think that he would probably be better at examining himself." So long as both are willing, he will then do a quick examination of the two of them, checking the wounds to see if either of them have changed noticeably since they were inflicted.

Once Miraj has finished up with his treatment of the woman, Entiren will move to sit by her on the side with her good eye. Looking at her heavily damaged body for a moment, he then speaks to her in a quiet voice. "I want you to know, despite what you may have heard me say earlier I have no wish to see you pass on. I imagine that it has been some time since your previous group left you here. I have a supply of rations with me, some of which I can give to you." He will reach into his bag and pull out a small square of field ration, ready to give it to her if she needs it.

Seeing the brand on the woman's forehead, Entiren will look at it for a moment before a look of recognition crosses his face. Speaking in a low voice to the others, he will say "This woman is a worshiper of The Devourer. If we are able to help her, we should do so carefully, as she would quite likely be more than willing to kill us in exchange for saving her life."

Entiren will look at the thorn with the others, but is unable to make any sense of it.

Spotting the movement out of the corner of his eye as the creature moves up to fling a thorn at someone, Entiren quickly raises his rifle towards it and takes a shot.

Having taken care to always have his weapon ready after the first interaction with the quadrupedal plant creature, Entiren notices the creature just before the dart it flung would have hit Diedre. Aiming at its fleeing form in the trees above, he fires a laser towards it. However, his aim is thrown off by it fleeing vertically instead of along the ground.

Unable to recognize what the plant creature is, he is caught by surprise when it launches the thorn towards Diedre. Responding quickly as the creature runs off into the jungle, he summons a pair of glowing spheres on the tips of his horns, before launching them towards the creature.

Watching the spheres connect with the plant as it disappears into the surrounding forest, Entiren then turns to the group. "I agree with Irhok'zath. This thing actively chose to put itself right in front of us, letting us know that it was there and a threat. It most likely won't stop now."

While the others investigate the obelisk, Entiren will move to find a place to sit and rest. Leaning against a nearby tree, he allows himself to relax for the first time since the sniper shot that had startled the Yaruks earlier.

Taking a 10 minute rest to regain Stamina Points. If people don't object, I'll also use Healing Touch to heal Entiren's HP damage, healing all 11 points of damage over another 10 minute period.

If the vracinea is still alive after the attacks from the others, Entiren will fire off a single shot at it.

"Don't plan on doing anything of the sort Irkok'zath!" Entiren calls out as he aims his rifle at the creature that he recognizes as a vracinea. Hoping that damage from high heat sources may be more effective against it, he quickly takes a pair of shots at the plant creature.

Entiren will watch the last of the stingbats flee away into the trees, making sure that the animals aren't trying to trick them to lower their guard. He then returns his attention to the group's immediate surrounds, moving up towards the tree that Miraj's gun was stashed in. He first looks down at the object that fell out of the tree, before glancing up at the hole the gun is in. "Do you think you can get up there Miraj?"

Any particular skill needed to be used to identify what fell out of the tree?

Entiren will move towards the obelisk at a slight angle, moving towards the root structure of the nearby fallen tree before heading any further.

Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Moving six squares towards the right edge of the map, then two squares towards the top right corner.

Getting to where he ends up, he aims his rifle at the remaining Stingbat, but holds his fire so long as it takes no actions against anyone in the group.

Readying an action to make a ranged attack against the Stingbat if it moves to be next to a member of the group, aiming to deal nonlethal damage.

Entiren will go ahead and try to hit the fleeing Stingbat.
AoO Unarmed Strike vs KAC: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Emphasis on try.

His horn finding no home in the fleeing Stingbat, Entiren watches as it moves off towards the obelisk. Taking aim with his rifle at the one which had stung him, Entiren will take a single shot. However, at the last second his aim shifts to aim for areas that aren't vital, as he doesn't actually bear the animal enough ill will to kill it.

Aiming to do nonlethal damage.

He then begins moving towards the obelisk, moving quickly despite his injuries.

Entiren jumps a little when the first stingbat stings him on his rear, having not been expecting an attack from that direction. After the other one also gets a sting in, he takes a careful step away from the two animals, angling to try and move to be adjacent to only the stingbat that has been more injured so far if it still remains. If not, he simply moves away from the second stingbat.

With a stingbat having fallen to the ground right next to him, Entiren carefully takes a step away from the creature, not wanting to get stung by the stinger on the end of the animal's tail. Looking the creature over for a moment, he says "Normally I rather like animals. These ones, however, are particularly aggravating." As he says this, his horns begin to glow with small pinpricks of star-like light, and he extends his mind towards the stingbat in front of him. Connecting to their mind, his horns flash down to their tips as he channels a stream of pure information concerning orbital mechanics into the creatures brain.

Casting Mind Thrust on the Stingbat next to Entiren. DC 14 Will save for half damage.

Move Action: guarded step away from the stingbat adjacent to Entiren; Standard Action: cast Mind Thrust on the stingbat nearest to Entiren.
