I have been eagerly waiting for the Society to return to Razmiran since the Lodge of the Living God.
I was hoping for an intrigue-centric scenario with Narsen and the townsfolk — something that followed up on the earlier scenario. Instead, we got a straightforward combat train in a misty forest.
Giving this 3 stars because I understand my wants are subjective; that said, I believe Paizo missed an opportunity to develop the Razmiran Lodge's setting.
This scenario offers formidable combat, ample roleplay, vivid NPCs, and engaging skill challenges. It's really well-balanced for those who like the crunch, and those who like the fluff. That is no mean feat!
I want to echo what schattenstern said. Multiple paths to success against moderate / easy encounters give the scenario more space for memorable roleplay, meaningful combat, and even a fun minigame!
This repeatable has a great degree of variety and I anticipate running it many times.
I truly appreciated the prompts for the GM regarding how to choose tasks, which are grounded in NPC motivation and designed to maximize player enjoyment. Still provided a challenge, too.
Didn't run short for us (almost 4 full hours at high tier / 29 ChP).
The very first set of challenges was refreshing; I would like to see more PFS scenarios embrace a little whimsy like this one did!
Falgaia's review perfectly sums up my other thoughts, having reviewed the scenario and experienced it from the player side. It's worth reiterating the point about GMs putting up an extra guardrail for their players — especially if the group is in a risky tier situation or low on coordination, preparation, skillset, or time.
