I received a charity race boon for a drow from my spouse, but the Additional Resources says nothing from the drow section of the Advanced Race Guide is legal. Same for Monster Codex. The boon lists a bunch of books and says I have to have one of them to play the character, but it doesnt say it gives me access to anything in those books. Like alternate racial traits or favored class bonuses or anything else. The books listed are Monster Codex 30, Advanced Race Guide 102, Inner Sea Races 241, Blood of Shadows, and Wilderness Origins 8 Could someone assist, or update these books on the additional resources?
If what you say about warhorn is true, it is surprising that there are almost no results on Google for "warhorn" and "ada complianace" or "ada compliant." Or anything relevant about warhorn and screen readers or incompatible devices. Has anyone but you made this complaint about/ or to Warhorn? It sounds like a technical bug not a callous or ignorant oversight. You are not the only gamer that uses screen reader technology. It seems to be that if screen reader tech didn't work on the site for everyone, there would be more of an outcry. If I am wrong, please provide sources that other people have had this problem. And, if nothing else, organizers can sign people up on Warhorn. Paizo as a company is very respectful and accommodating to people with disabilities, and would make sure that people who need accommodations aren't "sidelined." Especially if a person were to actually contact them and ask for it. Coming onto an online forum about the convention being announced, making bold claims, and threatening lawsuits is not an appropriate way to handle this. - an annual PaizoCon attendee since 2010, and a person with a disability.
Explaining them to someone new to Pathfinder. Osirian = Egypt
Varsians = ?? Taldan = aristocracy/empire in decline Galt = French Revolution
Cheliax = Devil worshippers Realm of the Mammoth Lords = primitive man + mammoths and so on.
As far as I can tell, varisians are the stereotypical gypsy. They are nomadic, scarves, colors, fortune tellers (harrow decks?), and have the same good and bad reputations in some cities. However, if I am explaining the various ethnicities, or cultures, and call varisians gypsies, some people get very, very upset. Gypsy is such a perfect word for varisian. Roma isn't. Roma doesn't make sense for Varisians, and to liken them is insulting to roma. Roma didn't travel because they were wanderers and worshipped a god of travel and stars and luck. They moved because they were persecuted. I get why calling a Roma a gypsy is wrong. I don't get why calling varisians gypsies is wrong. There is no politically correct word for them, and I think that calling varisians Roma is insulting to Roma. So, My question is: 1) Does Varisian = stereotypical gypsy?
In no particular order: * Mediogalti
* Anywhere/anything that has lots of dragons, cause you don't get to really have much fun with them in mid level play -- The dragon player companion just came out, and we already have dragon hunters, so this should fit in.
I would like to know how a player can find these markets/items), and it'd be nice to have a short write up of two-three of them. The Dusk Market in Westcrown would be interesting, because it is never in the same place, and it's always in the dangerous (undead/bandit/monster infested) district of the city. How would a player know where to find it?
Trading Question: I have a lotto event that I'd like to suggest for trades during any of the times I currently have PFS. In my opinion, I would be "trading up" and there isn't a huge chance of the trades going through. (hey, some people want to give up awesome lotto events for pfs and events I think are less awesome) Do I have to remove all of the PFS before I even know if anyone is interested in the trade? If a trade "doesn't go through" because I have a conflicting pfs spot, will I know that it was attempted at all?
Mine all mine...don't touch wrote: I realize the fine Paizo folks are doing their best but, I'm at work and took a lunch to try and schedule now with things pushed back an hour I kind of get screwed. My husband is in the same boat (minus the going home early). He had a meeting from 1:30-2:30 that he pushed back to get on here. We don't share passwords, otherwise I'd sign up for him. I'm really not envious of how stressed the Paizo staff probably is right now. Take a deep breath guys! We are just confused and/or anxious, but we'll get over it. :) Considering the issues years past, I do think it'd be better to have the lottery results available, then have event trading and open registration a day later. Like RyanH set, one set of problems at a time.

We have a 2 queen room with a balcony & 2 friendly cats. We have a spare bed. Due to the cats, would prefer one roommate rather than 2 this year. Can share the room for one night or the whole time.
I would not do this if the players were not expecting it - i.e they came prepared mentally as well as equipment. If they are used to a 15 minute adventure day, and the GM throws this, they may cry foul. If they are hardcore dungeon crawlers, then by all means, this sounds fun. As a player, I'd be upset if this was thrown in the middle of a Pathfinder AP, though, esp. without warning. As a GM, you need to keep in mind what each of the minions knows/their standing/most recent orders/and their intelligence, and what the BBEG knows. It can be hard to keep from metagaming the monsters when the pcs are going through tactics in front of you and you have to help facilitate them.

They needed to add those because PCs need to be able to learn these languages - especially if they are playing through a certain season in which one of the dead languages comes up often.

Um, I believe that Paizo owns the submissions now in their entirety. I could be wrong - you really should check the fine print.
Berselius wrote: Sigh, one day, one GLORIOUS DAY, Paizo Publishing will announce a single player Pathfinder PC Game that is NOT a MMORPG is in production. This has absolutely nothing to do with MMORPGs. Go look up Syrinscape. It's freaking awesome. It's ... well.. I'll let them say it: "Syrinscape is a revolutionary sound design app that adds evocative ambient background sound and a movie-like soundtrack to your tabletop gaming experience." It's really nice and doesn't take the show (unless you want it to, like for introducing a dragon), and adds a ton without being a hassle to use during game.
Open first map (alphabetically) * look at first map
Repeat with next map. End up with 8 tabs open and three windows
Done. I feel kinda bad that I didn't go and read their items like I used to, but at 32 entries, there are just too many to do that. I'll look at the items if I am iffy starting in stage 8 - or maybe 16 to break a tie.
I am excited about this change and think it is great! Factions will mean a bit more to players on a regular basis, while not taking away from the mission as a whole. One thing, though. What does it mean what you say "defeat an undead"?
And to note - when you put limitations such as "the killing blow" - it can hurt the party because the player will say "don't kill it! I need to kill it to check off my faction box!" That said, I am really excited about this and can't wait to see what you guys come up with.
I threw in man-eating long-horned cattle (aurochs). Template in on of the Wrath of the Righteous APs. They also had an encounter with a caster summoning a familiar, something that was a tiny protean, at a convergence of ley lines. it was a fun encounter that didn't involve fighting but could have. (speaking of unearthing something dead...like this thread) I also through in a hamlet or village on the lakeside that was being terrorized by a large humanoid/giant creature that did crazy things at night. (can't remember the name) All of the trees were uprooted in town, and he had just the previous night dug up all of the bodies in the graveyard. They had only gotten to re-bury half of them, so he was there again that night.
Actually, there is an asylum in Caliphas, it is the pathfinder lodge there. As far as I know, there isn't anything nefarious going on there. I removed Amnesia as an option for insanity. The psychosis actually worked really well in my group because one of the characters was a Low Templar and was going through the "evil" side of his character journey. I gave them an interesting magic item that lets them buy items from Caliphas (1 a day) at a premium, roughly 20% higher than market price. The encounter came to a head last game, and the group had a blast roleplaying it out. With the help of the introduction of another monster in the dungeon, they were able to stabilize the psycho and will keep him out of it until they can use the heal scroll coming for them in the morning. It was one of the best roleplaying sessions I've ever had. [EDIT] restoration does not work. Greater Restoration, Heal, Miracle, Limited Wish or Wish are required to magically remove insanity. The only other option is time and will saves.
