How to speed up gameplay and reduce the 15 minute day

See how it doesn't suggest 4 encounters of party level?
See how it doesn't say the party barely scraped by?

it makes writing adventures much easier. makes the 15 minute day a lot less common, and makes PCs/Bosses feel special.

Actually it does suggest 4 encounter a day if CR=APL. It specifically says

"The PCs should be able to take on many more encounters lower than their level but fewer encounters with Encounter Levels higher than their party level."

That means 4 is still the baseline, but if the CR/EL is higher or lower that CR=APL then the number of encounters should also change.

Now in actual gameplay I find that as a I level up resources last longer, but for the purpose of online debates 4 is a good number to use just so everyone is on the same page.

but it doesn't say every encounter has to be CR=APL. and CR=APL skews things in favor of builds who hit often and hit hard. forgetting common things like lesser foes and such in favor of everybody being equals.

I agree, but I never saw that as the common belief anyway. I think that whoever reviewed his story did not read know that though. I don't think I have been in a game that held us to 4 encounters a day on a consistent basis.
