So I don't know is this is a Noob question or not, but can you take 10 to aid another while they take 10 on skill check? This is assuming it's a skill that can be done untrained or that you have ranks in.
The Aid Another rules:
You can't take 10 on a skill check to aid another.
Note that "Aid Another" is listed in two different parts of the book: Skills, and Combat. (The above is from the Skills listing.)

can you take 10 to aid another
Aid Another: "You can't take 10 on a skill check to aid another."

No. For many years I thought you could (in 3E), but actually just recently was pointed out that the rules explicitly say you cannot, and the same is true in PF.
I don't understand why not, though. It would seem to be a reasonable houserule.

Aid Another
You can help someone achieve success on a skill check by making the same kind of skill check in a cooperative effort. If you roll a 10 or higher on your check, the character you're helping gets a +2 bonus on his or her check. (You can't take 10 on a skill check to aid another.) In many cases, a character's help won't be beneficial, or only a limited number of characters can help at once.In cases where the skill restricts who can achieve certain results, such as trying to open a lock using Disable Device, you can't aid another to grant a bonus to a task that your character couldn't achieve alone. The GM might impose further restrictions to aiding another on a case-by-case basis as well.

DM can (and should) place limits on how many people can aid you at something. Again, we used this houserule w/o realizing it was one for years and nothing broke down.
