It's toilsome work, but I'm well on my way to answering my own feature request. I'm creating a massive repository of player-created stuff: searchable, sortable, and categorized, because a lot of awesome stuff has fallen through the cracks and that is a shame.
The domain is purchased, Joomla is installed, I've learned how to use the software, come up with my organization strategy, and I've gone through about 300 threads so far (only 650 more to go!). Not too bad for a week's work.
However, like I said, it's toilsome.
I haven't touched the GM Threads yet: the ones stickied at the top of the forums. They're just one bridge too far for me. So I'm requesting help.
It is true that the main purpose of the website is to present unofficial content. However, it would be a good idea to have an errata and FAQ section, with the developers' official patches and clarifications. But while I know would be good to do this, my heart just isn't in it. I'm (personally) only interested in the creative stuff.
So I want help!
Could I enlist someone (or someones) to go through those mammoth stickied threads and produce a document that contains the erratas and clarifications in consolidated format, without the discussion? (I'm not too particular about the format: I'll be converting to HTML in the end) If, in the process of going through those threads, you find cool house rules, please put them in a seperate document. Furthermore, "guides" or other "how to"s should be in their own document as well. The goal is organization. :-)
I'll handle the other stuff, but I would like to outsource this one particular piece.
Before someone jumps in and says "why not do a wiki?", it's because I want to use certain Joomla features that let users rate & recommend content, so as to help people find what they're looking for for their campaign. Besides, I don't see the articles being very interlinked, which is typically what you'd use a wiki for.
As for other questions about how the website will work, well, wait a couple weeks, and you'll see ;-) I'm not quite decided on every aspect yet, some things are still shaking out.
I'll suggest people respond to the thread with comments like "I've got Mass Combat covered!", and then someone else with "and I'll do Thousand Screams!", announcing intent ahead of time, rather than waiting until you're done, so there's no duplicated work.
Thanks so much for chipping in to make this community even better-er!

I'll leave to others to hop in and organize from the threads you speak of; that's not one of my strong points. But let me pop and say that, Wiki or Joomla, this sort of thing has been needed for a long time and I'm very much looking forward to it, and to contributing some of my created material once it comes around...

No stickied threads yet? But... but the 6 player community created conversion threads are stickied! :D.
This is really awesome of you to do this and I wish I had the time to help :(.
Wow! Eric I wish I was talented enough to help you this would be great for Kingmaker. I'll say thank you thank you thank you a head of time.

I have a point of interest for this FAQ -- that certain non-errors be brought up for individual GMs to keep or fix as per their own judgement.
Namely, re-used / close names;
* Tyg Titter-tut is a Chapter 1 faerie; Tig is a Chapter 2 child that is kidnapped by lizardmen.
* Bevin is both a Chapter 2 shepherd that is killed, as well as an inn-keeper that gives a Chapter 3 random quest
* Jamandi / Jemanda are an Aldori and a Kitharodian staff-member.
Some people don't see these as issues, but I run a game every two weeks where people have trouble remembering their own names, much less the names of NPCs, and I go so far as to photoshop up NPC portraits. I. Don't. Like. Similar. Names.
Additionally, the Claw-Like Structure that keeps cropping up;
* The Hidden Cache is a Chapter 1 location that looks like a grasping appendage; Talon Peak is a Chapter 3 location that appears to be a claw reaching for the sky.
What I really look forward to in this site of yours is all the custom Kingmaker content people are creating; the custom Random Encounters, the custom Landmark Locations, the custom Kingdom Events, the 6-player conversions and so on.

How is this coming along Eric?

I got discouraged. I've gone through 100s of posts, but there's 100s more to go through.
I was hoping someone would volunteer to help, and then we could keep each other accountable and bounce enthusiasm off of each other.
Maybe I'll get back to this soon, but I'm a touch over-extended at the moment and I'm having trouble justifying giving this the hours that it needs to be a success.
Sorry.

I can definitely understand. We do appreciate the time and effort. There are thousands of posts here. I can only imagine.

I'll go through those stickies. I just went through most of the book 2 stuff last night and realized how badly this was needed.
Basically you just want FAQ/Errata somewhat organized or at least listed for you to format properly, then any player created crunch or fluff somewhere else, and maybe a third document covering full-blown howto/guides?
How did you want to handle attribution? FAQ/Errata may not need it, but the creative stuff deserves/requires it.
Or am I answering your call two months too late?

I am pretty busy with my own projects so I can't really help.
I can encourage you to work through that slump. You ALWAYS hit walls on big projects and working through them is just part of the work. You will never regret pushing through that wall and you will be recognized for it.
Your idea would be a huge help to someone like me. I hope you get it done.

Minor thread necromancy, I know.
Just wanted to add in that it's a shame you got discouraged, the project looked to hold a lot of potential.
Oh, and is there any way you might share your notes/ideas on a resource-based economy in Kingmaker, which you mentioned in the thread "What should I allow in Kingmaker" from last year? =)
I'll just leave my email here if you do :3

Ok Eric looks like you've got some help. :-)
