Grand Lodge

Hi! I am Hmm (Hilary Moon Murphy) and I am one of the three GMs scheduled for this session of From the Tome of Righteous Repose. I'm so looking forward to meeting you!

I'd love to find out more about both my fellow GMs and the folks who will be joining us as players.

Players, what characters and levels are you bringing? If you've played Tome before and you're at my table I'd love to hear what locations and Arcs you previously played so that I can offer you a novel experience! Let's start PaizoCon with a bang!

Hmm

Hi Hmm

I am one of the players who have selected this scenario. I have not had the pleasure to play or GM this before and i have only one Character of level that is able to play and that is Ebonwolf Metalbender a level 3 (fighter/cleric) dual wielding half orc lawnmower.

If needed I will play a pregen :)

Poblano

Scarab Sages

I got a ticket HMM! I want to play at your table!

Grand Lodge

Poblano and Tineke --

Cool! Two people that I know from the boards and would love to meet! From what I understand, neither of you have played Tome before? Awesome. We'll see if others respond, and I'll make an adventure from there. Tome is a crazy, make-your-own-adventure with lots of options. I just want to repeat as little for my players as possible.

Tineke, what characters do you have available? Will Therry be with you?

Hmm

Ok I love make your own adventures

Scarab Sages

Yeah I made therry sign up. Neither of us have played it before. I have characters for both low and high tier.

Grand Lodge

Woran maybe we can muster together with Therry and request HMM as the GM. I'm not sure if that is an option to request a GM, I'm Still a noobie to all things PaizoCon and well Cons in general.

Grand Lodge

I don't know the answer to this, but I don't think there should be a problem. Worse they can do is say no. We'll have to have a chat with those mustering tables!

So we have 12 people who have signed up between the three tables, which means that we can have two tables of six, or three of four. I suspect that all the remaining seats will fill up between now and PaizoCon.

I am also hoping that more players and the other two GMs find this discussion thread will join us in here, but I'm guessing that most people do not see these event discussion threads.

Hmm what is an event discussion thread? ;)

I'm in, and will be bringing three possible characters to this:

Tengu monk (Ki Myst,MoMS, QG) 5, focusing on ki powers and styles, drapes his abilities in poorly-bluffed BS gibberish

Human magus 3 / witch (winter witch) 1, focusing on big hits with an adamantine bardiche and debuffing spells, free-wheeling drifter and devotee of Yamatsumi

Human pal (WoHL) 4, focuses on party protection and durable melee, devotee of Sarenrae and owner of an Osirian-based mercantile cartel

There are a few lv3 characters I could drop in as well, but will probably stick to the above three. (EDIT: Most likely the paladin based on the scenario description.)

Grand Lodge

Hi WRoy! I'm Hilary, Venture Lieutenant from the Online Region. I'm coming to PaizoCon from Minnesota.

Nice to hear from another player! I don't recognize the forum handle immediately (though I see from your profile that you are a prolific game designer.) Welcome to this merry little thread.

Have you played Tome before? If so... What Arcs and/or Locations?

Hmm

PS 14 signed up so far! It looks like all three tables will make!

I have not. Been awol from the twin cities PFS community for 3-4 years due to timing conflicts, with the exception of GMing an occasional session for my home group. Going to be blowing the dust off these characters. :)

Oh! A fellow Twin Cities person! So pleased to meet you! We should get you to SkalCon sometime so that you can meet the rest of the current PFS crowd, but you'll find a lot of us Minnesotans at PaizoCon already!

I have quite a few characters I can bring

-Human Psychic (Self Perfection) level 7- Focuses a lot on telepathic/divination abilities, hits hard with Mind Thrust and is also good with skills (hign int + Amateur Investigator)

-Aasimar Monk of the Iron Mountain/Flowing Monk 5-He's like a hunk of ultra sharp cheddar. He's designed to take on multiple adversaries at once. Damage isn't that great.

-Human Slayer 3- She wears heavy armor with a shield and bastard sword. Her design is a lot like a fighter, except that she fights dirty with Improved Feint and maybe Improved Dirty Trick later. She may not yet be ready to go though.

-Human Bloodrager (Air Elemental Bloodline/Steelblood) - 6 This guy wears heavy armor and wields an adamantine earthbreaker. He also has Improved Sunder. He hits like a damn truck.

-Elf Slayer (Sniper) 6 - Used the Forest Stalker NPC in the Core Rulebook as a guide, except he's a slayer instead of being a ranger

-I also have CORE characters if anyone wants a CORE table. I have a level 5 cleric and a level 7 wizard. Otherwise I'm heavily leaning towards the psychic.

Hello Soluzar!

Your psychic does sound good, and the group of players that I see so far could likely use a good skill monkey / caster type to balance them out. However, I am worried about a level 7 character pulling the APL into high tier. 3, 4, 4, 4, 7 = APL 4.4. So far it's okay, but a sixth player bringing in a level 6 would force us to play up.

With three tables, it looks like we'll be able to have both high tier and low tier tables of Tome going. My table looks to be low tier so far, since I am planning selfishly on taking most of the folks who've responded to my questions so far.

Your level 3 slayer or level 5 monk are both welcome at my low tier table, but if you want to play your 6s and 7s, you may want to take them to whatever would be the high tier table. I'm trying to avoid "double-rounding" in Tome and having my mostly low tier 3-4 group playing up because Tome can be deadly.

Now I will ask you the same question that I ask everyone else... Have you played Tome before? If so, do you know which locations and arcs you've played?

Hmm

Woran, can you list the low-tier characters you guys can bring?

Hi folks! I am also GMing this game during this slot. Looking forward to meeting some forum folks and new folks.

Grand Lodge

Excellent! We have another GM reporting in!

::Waves::

Hi, Scott!

Hi Hilary! Looking forward to meeting you in person!

Grand Lodge

Well, Scott, I think that we have wide open possibilities. Everyone appears to be either New or has only done the Undead Arc.

Hmm

Dark Archive

Hello, my friend and I are signed up for Friday morning. I'm level 3 reach cleric and him a level 3 warpriest monster

I'm Felix Danger from Reno, NV.

I have a level 3 gnome ranger. A scout and an archer known for his odd sensibilities and for wearing a leather bird mask to hide markings of an Ekujae ritual he undertook in the Mwangi expanse after temporarily contracting werebat lycanthropy.

Silver Crusade

Good morning. I will be playing my level 3 fighter Cleric today.

Want to muster together?

I will be in the muster line shortly. I am wearing my red flash emblem shirt.
