Sure, no problem.

"Sure, you can hold onto it. I have an extra vial here and I think it's better that we can throw it at the same time if necessary." says Jason as he hangs back and waits for Elliomander to finish his inspection.

There are no traps on the door - just an easy passage through into the hall (which also seems to be clear - quite fortunate, that). The important question is which of the two rooms ahead you'd like to examine first. North is probably more efficient if you want to avoid backtracking, but at this point, it doesn't matter much either way.

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

Elliomander places his finger on his lip, gesturing for quiet, and attempts to slip unnoticed clomps fairly loudly down the hall... as he moves towards the north door he looks for traps (in the hall, and especially on both doors) and listens intently for any sign of movement or voices but everything seems clear...

stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

well that could have gone better...

Following behind Elliomander, Cythraul examines the North door for traps, finding none.

Jason looks warily behind them. Just in case something comes out from the shadows.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

You're not able to find any traps, either in the hall or on the door itself. You could stay and keep looking, of course, or simply advance into the room and continue clearing the dungeon.

Male Stormborn Sorcerer 3 / Flowing Monk 3 (Archmage T1) | HP: 27/27 | Spells: 5/6 | Mythic Power: 5/5 | AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 17 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +6 | BAB: +2, CMB: +5, CMD: 20 | Init: +4 | Perception: +10 | Concentration +8 | Load: 37.5 (Light: 58) | Effects: Mage Armor

Jason strides with Ellio and Cyth trailing behind. He bypasses the doorway to the right and heads straight for the door up ahead where he presses his ear upon it and listens for evidence of other creatures beyond.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

When Jason gives the all clear, Elliomander nods, opens the door, and moves into the room, readying his glaive to greet any inhabitants...

The room is... refreshingly empty. It's been quite a long day thus far, and the lack of monsters trying to murder you means another room has been cleared and you're increasingly close to being able to escape this place. The only other door in the chamber - its southeastern passage - is a sturdy iron door that hasn't been locked. Alternatively, of course, you could go back and enter from the hallway - or move in from both and try to catch anything inside in a pincer movement of some sort. Either way works, really.

Female Tiefling Phantom Blade | HP: 11 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF: 14 | Fort: +4, Ref: +3, Will: +5 | BAB: +0, CMB: +1, CMD: 14 | Init: +3 | Perception: +6 |

Finding an unlocked iron door is both intimidating and disturbing. Cythraul carefully examines both the door and the surrounding area for traps, avoiding touching anything.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

Elliomander quickly casts detect magic while Cyth searches the door... he scans the door first, then quickly sweeps the rest of the room.

Male Stormborn Sorcerer 3 / Flowing Monk 3 (Archmage T1) | HP: 27/27 | Spells: 5/6 | Mythic Power: 5/5 | AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 17 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +6 | BAB: +2, CMB: +5, CMD: 20 | Init: +4 | Perception: +10 | Concentration +8 | Load: 37.5 (Light: 58) | Effects: Mage Armor

If Cythraul finds the doorway to be clear, Jason steps ahead to try and open it as quietly as he can before peeking into the passageway beyond.

Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

There are no traps on the door, nor any sign of magic within this room - you can't see into the next room with it, however, as the metal of the door seems to extend beyond the door itself and into the walls of that chamber.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 14

The creature inside seemed to notice Jason's movements, though, and let out a howl! It was a small humanoid of some kind, holding an exotic weapon known as an Aklys, and it bared its fangs wide as it faced you three.

Wow, he beat me with a Perc bonus of 0...

Jason claps his hands together and gathers electric energy into it as he steps into the room but move aside as soon as he goes through the door. He looks around and sees Elliomander ready to attack Charge him down, I've got a good ability to make you more... shocking. Then he extends out one hand just along his charging path.

Move and readied action to enchant Elliomander's held weapon with SHOCKING property for 1 round using my Thunderstaff (Sp) ability. Got to use it sometime.

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

Elliomander accepts Jason's invitation and charges, swinging hard at the small humanoid...

The small creature crouched down as Elliomander swung, the weapon passing harmlessly over its head. It stepped to the side and whirled its club above its head before hurling it through the doorway and right at Cythraul.

Ranged Atk: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

The creature tugged on the weapon's chain to retrieve the club after it went wide, unable to actually strike Cythraul despite her current status as flat-footed. It... hadn't been a very good throw on the creature's part, really.

Female Tiefling Phantom Blade | HP: 11 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF: 14 | Fort: +4, Ref: +3, Will: +5 | BAB: +0, CMB: +1, CMD: 14 | Init: +3 | Perception: +6 |

Angered by his opponent's unlikely dodge, Elliomander all but snarls as he quickly studies the small being studied target then swings powerfully at it.

Jason dashes to the left and tries to make use of Elliomander's position to flank the enemy and pummels him with a roundhouse kick.

Attk: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 (+2 if flank is accepted)
Dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Cythraul's swing failed to strike the creature, though Elliomander's was a solid blow. Jason's strike also failed to connect - and the monster turned on Elliomander, swinging out at him in a clear effort to wear him down.

Melee Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

The club bounced off without doing much harm, and the foul creature let out a sound that was almost certainly something that children shouldn't hear as it readied its next strike... assuming it even lived that long.

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

Elliomander shifts to maintain the flank if necessary and takes another swing at the creature.

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

lol- that was a pretty solid round... i'd encourage Jason to keep the streak alive but it seems unlikely that the creature is alive to continue on!

Nope. XD

The little beast was slightly on the tough side, but not nearly tough enough to endure that pair of powerful blows... and it collapsed. With that done, you have no trouble searching the chamber. The only exit is to the east - an open archway heading right into the hallway. More usefully, there's a desk nearby with two valuable items on it - a Potion of Eagle's Splendor (300 GP) and a Wand of Shillelagh (750 GP).

Oh.. no fun. LOL

"Eh? What kind of magic this wand has? I can't seem to channel my arcane powers through this." Jason says with a shrug. He hands the potion and wand to Elliomander before heading into the eastern hallway and stops before the door.

Perception checks all the way vs traps: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

There don't seem to be any traps within the hallway or along the door - though in fairness, you probably would've missed any trap unless it had a big sign on it - but the important thing is that you're at the door now. Which, as it happens, is an unlocked good wooden door.

Female Tiefling Phantom Blade | HP: 11 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF: 14 | Fort: +4, Ref: +3, Will: +5 | BAB: +0, CMB: +1, CMD: 14 | Init: +3 | Perception: +6 |

Catching up to Jason, Cythraul inspects the door before opening it.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

The door opens smoothly to reveal a large, empty chamber - no treasure, but no enemies to wear down your dwindling resources, either. There's another iron door to the south - the only apparent way to access two rooms, judging by the map - as well as a wooden door on the eastern wall that leads back towards the entrance of the dungeon (and one room you haven't visited). Finally, an open archway has been set a little further north, and seems to be the way forward through the dungeon, heading towards the last cluster of rooms.

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

Elliomander casts detect magic, scans the room, then carefully inspects the iron door for traps....

spellcraft any auras: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Assuming the way seems clear, he gestures to Cyth and Jason to follow and moves as quietly as he can down the hall toward the open archway...

stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

edit: yikes. pardon me while i use up some low rolls out of combat, lol.

The good thing about open archways is that you can easily see what's up ahead of you. The bad thing about open archways is the way others can hear you coming...

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 6

...if they're paying enough attention to listen, anyways. Peeking into the next chamber, you can see another Cave Fisher resting on the floor, and it doesn't seem to be aware of you just yet - though it is facing the door, and you may not be able to completely surprise it once you head inside.

Male Stormborn Sorcerer 3 / Flowing Monk 3 (Archmage T1) | HP: 27/27 | Spells: 5/6 | Mythic Power: 5/5 | AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 17 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +6 | BAB: +2, CMB: +5, CMD: 20 | Init: +4 | Perception: +10 | Concentration +8 | Load: 37.5 (Light: 58) | Effects: Mage Armor

Do you see anything?

Female Tiefling Phantom Blade | HP: 11 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF: 14 | Fort: +4, Ref: +3, Will: +5 | BAB: +0, CMB: +1, CMD: 14 | Init: +3 | Perception: +6 |

Gesturing to Jason and Elliomander to follow, Cythraul charges the cave fisher, her sword failing to find its mark.

Rhoka: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

Elliomander takes advantage of his weapon's reach to charge in behind Cyth and strike hard at the fisher from behind her.

charge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
for: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Initiative (Enemy): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Initiative (Cythraul): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Initiative (Elliomander): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Initiative (Jason): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Cythraul's swing did indeed miss - Elliomander's, not so much, and the creature was still flat-footed after the charge. Perhaps more importantly, it was still quite slow in reacting, and Jason also had the chance to act before the creature could attempt to strike back...

Male Stormborn Sorcerer 3 / Flowing Monk 3 (Archmage T1) | HP: 27/27 | Spells: 5/6 | Mythic Power: 5/5 | AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 17 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +6 | BAB: +2, CMB: +5, CMD: 20 | Init: +4 | Perception: +10 | Concentration +8 | Load: 37.5 (Light: 58) | Effects: Mage Armor

Jason shakes his head. So much for stealth...
He dashes into the room as well and jump-kicks at the creature.

Attk: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

The Cave Fisher chittered wildly as it struck out at Elliomander after scuttling a few steps forward, clearly not entirely prepared for the sudden onslaught of violence.

Melee Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18 for Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Melee Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Only one of its blows was a real danger - but that wasn't such a bad result for a creature that had been both caught by surprise and violently mauled in the last few seconds.

Male Stormborn Sorcerer 3 / Flowing Monk 3 (Archmage T1) | HP: 27/27 | Spells: 5/6 | Mythic Power: 5/5 | AC: 19, T: 15, FF: 17 | Fort: +3, Ref: +5, Will: +6 | BAB: +2, CMB: +5, CMD: 20 | Init: +4 | Perception: +10 | Concentration +8 | Load: 37.5 (Light: 58) | Effects: Mage Armor

Jason skits around the creature to get a good position and nods to his companions, Flank it!

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

i was standing directly behind Cyth, so I believe it had to provoke AoOs from her and Jason in order to get to me...

In this case, no.

The first strike was the only one Jason needed to make, slaying the Cave Fisher and leaving the room clear. On the unfortunate side, the room seemed otherwise empty - if there'd been anything in it before, perhaps the creature had eaten it. The other door in this hallway, just to the east and around the corner, looked to be another one made of sturdy iron.

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

"Cyth, might I impose on you for another use of your wand?"

Female Tiefling Phantom Blade | HP: 11 | AC: 17, T: 13, FF: 14 | Fort: +4, Ref: +3, Will: +5 | BAB: +0, CMB: +1, CMD: 14 | Init: +3 | Perception: +6 |

Quickly healing Elliomander, Cythraul moves to inspect the iron door.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

You're unable to spot any traps on the door, though the healing is certainly likely to be one of the more helpful things going on. Unfortunately, the thickness of the door also prevents hearing through it... though that does work both ways, and anything inside is probably unable to hear you, too. Turning potential problems into an advantage is definitely one of the more helpful skills within a dungeon...

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

"Thank you, again." Elliomander says as his wounds slowly close. I'm unclear... is the door locked?

No, it isn't. It's just that nobody's mentioned actually opening it.

Fighter/Investigator [gestalt] 1

When the spell has run its course, Elliomander grabs the handle on the heavy iron door. He pauses for a moment in cases anyone wants to frantically object and then swings the door open. As soon as his hand is free it moves at lightning speed back to his glaive, preparing it to 'greet' any would be attackers.

The room has a high domed ceiling, and a toppled statue lies in the south-west corner of the room. Within, a large creature recognizable as a bugbear turns and roars, pulling out a morningstar as it prepares to charge the three of you!

Initiative (Enemy): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Initiative (Cythraul): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Initiative (Elliomander): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Initiative (Jason): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

...And being very slow on the uptake anyway.

Cythraul charges into the flank, sinking her blade deep into the bugbears side.
