Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

Nor boldly stands from his hiding place. (Logistically, I don't want to spend a move action, just end my Stealth.) He currently holds no weapon, but outstretches his arms as he addresses the five.
"Greetings, fellow scallywags! I am Nor Gexxa, and I let my enemies cut me once, before I kill them. Count the scars, and you will know how many I have slain. Join us, to seek greater treasures than Svetlana's watery onion soup, or I shall add you to my tally."

Intimidate 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Intimidate is directed at their apparent leader.

Shadow Lodge

The leader, a grim looking man with a patched beard, looks uneasy following Nor's threat/offer.

"A tempting offer Gexxa, but the Staglord will make a pincushion of the River Kingdoms!"

Intimidate Success.

Four of the bandits charge, all at Nor. The leader takes a shot with his bow at Thanatos from horseback.

Attacks on Nor
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Bow shot on Thanatos
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Nor takes 12 damage from 2 attacks. Thanatos takes 9 damage from 1 attack.

Shadow Lodge

A filthy lie! Thanatos takes 7 points of damage thanks to Nor's intimidation.

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

So, what do.
Are we going to regular initiative order? Still in surprise round? Whose turn is it? Also, let's figure out who is where, tactically.

GM DSP wrote:

Dagoth Stealth 1d20+4

Nor Stealth 1d20+10

Thanatos Stealth 1d20-1

Nyx Stealth 1d20-3

The bandits jeer as the gate opens. However, when they see Thanatos and Nyx in place of Oleg, they whip themselves into a frenzy!

** spoiler omitted **

You gain a surprise round. Each of you can take a move OR a standard action. Then the Bandits have initiative. They have not yet ridden into the trading post. They have only spotted Thanatos and Nyx. Nyx acts on Thanatos' initiative.

Three things. One, how does the bandits spot us through solid wall since they're outside. We're not standing right in front of the gate when it opens, but lining the walls next to the gate. Two, how do we got attacked on our surprise round. Three, how do they shoot through solid walls?

Shadow Lodge

I'm taking a GM specific mulligan. David and Josh still have a surprise round. The bandits have responded to Isaac's character, but have not attacked. Before you act, go to the Google doc and look a the map. Post your coordinates at you're starting point and again at your end if you move. Isaac is at T14.

Thanatos and Nyx are at T11 and T12 respectively.

Thanatos grunts, pulls out the arrow and heals himself.

Spontaneous Casting, using up Protection from Good, for 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Male Orc Ranger

Access request for map viewing has been sent.

Shadow Lodge

david, I said no attacks have been made. You're not hurt. Want to change your action?

Whoops. Changing action to not casting that spell and casting Murderous Command instead DC 16. Do I roll something to cast it?

Murderous Command:
Murderous Command
School enchantment (compulsion) [mind-affecting]; Level antipaladin 1, cleric 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one living creature
Duration 1 round
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
You give the target a mental urge to kill its nearest ally, which it obeys to the best of its ability. The target attacks its nearest ally on its next turn with a melee weapon or natural weapon. If necessary, it moves to or charges to the nearest ally in order to make this attack. If it is unable to reach its closest ally on its next turn, the target uses its turn to get as close as possible to the ally.

Shadow Lodge

I assume you're casting it at the leader.

Will Save 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

"You'll need to better than that, Cleric! I will wear your tongue on a cord by lunch!"

That guys can tell that was casted by a Cleric? Really? And stupid natural 20s.

Male Orc Ranger

Dagoth moves out from the shadows to the side of Nor, with greataxe at his ready. Gotha stays motionless ontop the gate staring, waiting for her master to signal. Dagoth whispers to nor"My axe needs blood."

Dagoth moves to t15, Gotha at v12

Shadow Lodge

"Kill those two! I want the Cleric alive!"

Four bandits dismount with surprising speed and before Dagoth or Nor can blink, four flashing foils fly forward: right at them!

Attacks on Nor
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Attacks on Dagoth
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Nor takes 3 damage, Dagoth takes 8.

The leader laughs loudly.

"Well done boys! Happs will finish the Orc!

Leader attacks from horseback with his bow on Dagoth
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

An arrow sinks into the Orc's thigh. 3 damage

Badits at U14, 15, 16, and 17
The leader is 20 feet south from U15 on horseback.

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

My turn?

Shadow Lodge

Sorry. We're doing group initiative so it doesn't matter who posts when. It is now the PC's turn. That means David, Josh, or Isaac can post at anytime. However, once you've completed your actions, you wait 'til all of you have done so. Then I'll post results and enemy actions. Rinse and repeat.

Thanatos, seeing the attacks sinking into his companions, focuses for a moment, and unleashes healing dark energy.

Crunch:
Channel with Undeath Variant 1d6 ⇒ 3*1.5 for Undeath Variant = 4.5 healed for everyone

Nyx runs up and hits the bandit with his scimitar in U12.

Crunch:
1d20 ⇒ 11d6 ⇒ 5

Male Orc Ranger

With out any sort of command, the Orc and bird act together. First Gotha flies in and attacks from behind. Then the orc strikes at the slightly distracted bandit.

Gotha Bite1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Dagoth attacks with GAXE1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Attacks with flanking but has light sensitivity

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

Were it not for menacing smile on Nor's face, one would think he was having a fit of coughs. But no, the hobgoblin's scraping laughter erupts from his toothy maw as the injury throws him into a bloodlust.
"That steel feather of yours tickled! ARE YOU AS TICKLISH?!"

Nor pulls the falchion from his back overhead, onto the bandit that scored a hit.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Damage 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (1, 4) + 11 = 16

Shadow Lodge

4.5 healing is rounded down to 4. We do not deal in fractions.

Nor, Dagoth, and Gotha narrowly miss their targets.

Nyx rattles forward and hoists his scimitar only to drop it behind his back!
____________

The four bandits swing at their targets again!

Attacks on Nor
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Attacks on Dagoth
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Dagoth takes 6 damage. He is standing with 1 hit point left.

Happs (the leader) shouts:

"That's it Cleric! You're gonna be a pain in my ass I see."

Happs moves to x20 and fires at Thanatos.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

I hate my fumble table sometimes...

In his zeal, Happs drew his bow much too far and snaps his bowstring!

Your turn guys.

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

"Gah!"
Nor swings again at the same bandit.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Crit threat! Confirm:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Whoa. I don't know what to do with that. DSP?
Damage 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (3, 4) + 11 = 18 x2 = 36

Male Orc Ranger

Dagoth and Gotha both strike against the bandits.

Gotha Bite=1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 B1
Gotha Talon=1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 B1
Gotha Talon=1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 B1
Dagoth Greataxe=1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12 B2
Which everyone Nor is not hitting!

Shadow Lodge

For the record: If you confirm a Natural 20 critical threat with another Natural 20, roll to confirm again. If you beat the target's AC, the target dies immediately.

Nor takes the head off one of the bandits.

Gotha is unable to land an attack, but Dagoth ends a bandit.

1 bandit stands before Nor and 1 before Dagoth.

Bring this round home for us Thanatos!

Nyx, without his sword, instead attacks with his bone clawed hands!

2 claws 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 directed at closest bandit.

...... a 1 again?

Thanatos, seeing Dagoth about to go down, channels more negative energy to heal the gashing wounds.

1d6 ⇒ 3 * 1.5 = 4 healed to everyone!

Shadow Lodge

The wild swing puts Nyx off balance and causes him to fall! Not only that, but he pops some phalanges! Nyx is prone and moves at half speed until he receives a targeted heal.

Shadow Lodge

More post later.

Shadow Lodge

Attack on Dagoth 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Attack on Nor 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Both miss!

"Come on you bunch of Marys! Drop them!"

Happs attacks Thanatos
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Thanatos takes 3 damage

Bow's broken.

Shadow Lodge

Derp

Happs draws a longsword and charges Nor!

Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Miss

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

"Come, Happs! Make your mark, if you can."
Nor swings at Happs.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Damage 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (4, 2) + 11 = 17

Shadow Lodge

Miss.

Male Orc Ranger

Dagoth and Gotha move 5 feet over and continue their onsluaght.

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Same set of attacks from each split between the last two.

Shadow Lodge

Orc and bird manage to kill another bandit.

Waiting on Thanatos.

Thanatos looks down at his skeleton companion and sighs. "Come now Nyx, why are you fumbling over yourself here?" He reaches down and helps him up.

Inflict Minor Wound Orison. 1 pt healed.

Male Orc Ranger

Mouse and squirrel?

Standing up, Nyx picks up his sword and composes his bones.

Shadow Lodge

Happs and his bandit buddy both attack Nor. Happs is mounted.

Bandit

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Happs

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 for 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Happs misses and curses loudly. The bandit opens Nor's side.

8 damage

Bring it home fellas

Male Orc Ranger

Dagoth attacks again.

Greataxe - 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 1d12 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Bite - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Talon - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Talon - 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Both Dagoth and Gotha side step to keep the flanking and attack again.

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

"There once was a bandit named Happs..."
Nor swings again at Happs.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Damage 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (3, 4) + 11 = 18

"...and his mightiest swings were taps." Nor snickers.

Can I get coordinates for Happs, the other bandits, Dagoth and Gotha? I want to see if a five-foot step would get me a flanking bonus, for next round. Thanks.

Heals for everyone! Channeling again! 1d6 ⇒ 4 *1.5 = 6 healing for everyone!

Nyx swings his sword again, trying desperately not to fumble it this time. 1d20 ⇒ 151d6 ⇒ 5

Male Orc Ranger

We'll move to you, if both moose and squirrel 5ft, it will give you a flanking, no matter where i am thinking?

Shadow Lodge

Gotha and Dagoth kill the last bandit. Nor and Nyx miss their attacks on Happs.

Seeing his comrades down, Happs wheels his horse and beats a hasty retreat.

Full Withdraw, Nor gets 1 AoO.

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

Nor's blade tries to catch the fleeing bandit.
Attack 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Damage 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (1, 4) + 11 = 16
Wow. Failsaurs on the hits.

Nor shouts to the retreating bandit.
"Remember how easily your companions fell to us, Happs, and consider our offer! Join the victorious side!"

"Curses. I was hoping we could take them all down and no word escaped. We'll have to prepare for when he brings back the others. They'll be ready this time."

Male Orc Ranger

"We take the fight to them!"Dagoth looks at his two comrades and continues, "They're pride is wounded we need to follow them and strike them down where they sleep tonight.

"Then quickly send your bird to follow them."

Male Hobgoblin Barbarian

"I agree, we ought to give chase. Can anyone track the hoofprints? I might, if I get lucky."
Nor looks to the other two, hoping for a more confident answer.
