Yucales Character is all but complete, from what I have seen in the OOC string so that is basically everyone ready to go. I seconded Squad 1's wish to start a IC string, so as we can all get familiar with each other as a Character in Character.

I just made the mistake of reading through the squad 1 OOC discussion...I don't know what's more unnerving, their choice of banner or how excited Little Bitter got about his 'bone cart'.
Black Dow is right, they've cornered the market in creepy. Perhaps we should push the eccentric angle - bright colours and war paint, like Fury suggested. I reckon covering my face with a carved wooden mask would make me feel like cannon fodder - masked mercenaries? Let's try to be a little genre savvy here!
Bright colors and Warpaint suit me fine. I am thinking that maybe Fury will have painted a Clowns head on his Tower Shield. Something big and colorful, grinning maliciously down on his opponents.

Sounds like a plan Tok. Okay. Well our Front line is Gremm and NineTails and, in a pinch, me. Support roles come from our 3 Mages, Yucale, Morse and Mitabu. And that leaves you as our Flyer. You are the fast acting on the spot guy. Whether a hole need to be filled in the front line, a area need to be scouted out, or a Squishy need to be saved. I will be your Ranged support.
I should say, that is just how I see the Squad working anyway! If anyone has a different suggestion...? :)
I think that looks pretty good - except I'm not too fast. I can scout ahead if needed, but I don't really have any ranged abilities. I probably need to be near front-line and then step back to defend our machine-crazed artificer if anybody breaks through vanguard.
In reality, we'll see how the first battle goes and then debrief, probably!
That can work too. And I can make it my job to sit by the other two Squishy Characters in case someone manages to get past the Big Guy and NineTails!

I'm thinking something in grey and silver - we'll all be wearing relatively bright colours, so there'll be contrast in the opposite way one would expect (dark, functional clothes and a brightly coloured banner)

Sounds good. Set that out in black, grey and silver and we're good to go. How'd we display that? I guess we'd have a flag that we put up when we're in base camp? With only eight of us having an actual battle standard bearer seems a bit over the top.
Though with nine-tail in the team we'll definately have to all get it tatooed.
I'm thinking maybe Jaxs Tower Shield will bare our banner also. And yes, tattoos are a must.

Hey, Pentor, can you set a craft DC for the alchemical item Bloodblock? That stuff looks very useful if (when) the cure-machine breaks down, and I figured I might as well get some use out of the artificer class bonus to craft checks. As far as I can tell craft DCs are only available for a small set of example alchemical items, the rest are DM's discretion.

I was trying to think some big name for Gremm, especially when thinking on his family, like maybe he has a bigger brother named 'Tiny'. But then 'Gremmlin' came to mind.
And can we get a vote for Mr. Furious. :P I hope there are some Mystery Men fans out there.

I read your backstory, but that doesn't mean that Nine Tail has. He will continue to be fascinated by Mama Gremm till told otherwise about her fate.
Showboat seems to fit. I was thinking Ironhide for Gremm. And Mr.Furious works.
I reckon Gremlin is pretty good. Giving the big guy a name implying he's small is a timeless classic. As far as I'm concerned Showboat has instantly stuck - show-gally not so much. I'm in two minds about Mr Furious - it's amusing, but nicknames don't quite feel right unless they're three syllables or less. Given his position as de-facto second in command Two-Cub could be funny, though to be honest I'm not sure someone called Jax Fury really needs a nickname.
How about Pockerface for Nine-tail because of his ever-present mask? We could even shorten it to Face, though the A-team may be a bit too obvious for a pop culture reference.

Plus if anyone was Face around here, it'd be me. Stick might be a good one for fury though.
I am not sure what a 'pockerface' is, but a Google search brings up a lot of Lady Gaga hits, so I am not sure I like the connotation.

I named Nine Tail thinking of his background. But none of you know that IC so you can continue to try to name him. But it will come out that he is a spirit rager after he made a deal with a kitsume (a 9-tailed fox spirit). His spirit attacks will be manifestations from these tails, but as a lowly 1st level character, this will not be obvious. That reminds me I need to update my profile page with his back story.
