Farket / Oathbreaker |
"Huh."
Farket lowers his glaive frationally. "If you're still Shabah, you'd know summat about our group, I guess" He thinks for a moment for something the original Shabah might know, then asks...

"Shabah retrieved a parcel from the bottom of a pit a while back. I watched her examine it. If you're Shabah - show me what was in the parcel!" Farket glares at the troglodyte suspiciously.

Farket / Oathbreaker |
The gruff dwarf looks relieved, and once again lowers his weapon. "I was just kidding you" he mumbles, unconvincingly. "Sorry. So, what's in the parcel anyway?"

sorry for the silence... busy last two days, buut had a great family day yesterday, walked all over Philadelphia. visited Eastern State Penitentiary
with the penitent gillman (Uori)...
Kimbery reassures him, Aroden will not be forgotten so long as you keep his story. She stands, placing a hand on Uori's shoulder, We shall see to these less than righteous bunch. Pharasma's blessings be with you.
may not matter much, but she casts guidance on Uori
transformers...Pathfinder's in disguise...
Kimberly seems a bit unfazed by the transformation, but her sachel seems to move a bit.
taking it carefully in her arms, shhhh, its alright, many take different forms to better deal with the situations they are in, much like you. she whispers into her bag.
Farket / Oathbreaker |
"Is there more to learn here, or are we done? It feels like we've been here for nine days" grumbles Farket. Impatiently, he peers down the tunnel looking for their scout's return. As soon as he returns, Farket votes to get moving, towards trouble or whatever lies ahead...

After Shabah transforms, the gillman takes a step back half scared. "That, thats what is down there!!! Kill it, Kill them!!! Take them away."
The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline.
The river through this part of the cavern ranges from 10 to 15 feet wide but is only 1 foot deep, and it flows languidly at an almost imperceptibly slow speed

Kahwen |
I'm relatively sure that the troglodyte on our side of the river is Shabah. And I'm not going to mention how long it took me to try to place Kahwen where I want him to be using my phone...
Kahwen is more than a little nonplussed when he returns from his scouting trip and discovers that a troglodyte got behind him somehow. Fortunately, from the discussion being held between Farket and Shabah, he determines that the erstwhile enemy is actually the latter individual.
As the party rushes to close with their foes, he is in the thick of it. He moves to a position next to Shabah, his weapon at the ready but in a defensive stance to protect himself from any projectiles his opponents might have until he can get close enough for them to feel the bite of his blade.
Move, Total Defense
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Aha - then I won't hit him with the polearm....
Will instead remain in same space but readying an action in case hostile trogs cross the river.

Their opponents are clever enough to keep the river between them, at least for the moment. But that's not enough to keep them away from Kahwen's blade. He lines himself up then dashes forward, his feet slapping rapidly on the stone floor. At the last moment, he pushes off, throwing himself in a leap to soar over the water.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 11 - 1 = 26
He lands with a surprisingly small splash. As part of the same motion he brings his sword down in a sweeping slash at Green.
Elven Curve Blade: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 10
I couldn't tell if jumping was a separate (standard) action or part of a move action. If it's a separate action, ignore the attack.
He's immediately hit by the ungodly stink of the creatures, as well.

Shabah's Warform |
Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Shabah steels themselves against the almost physical wave of stench that surrounds the true-trogs, and then takes a flying leap across the mire to join Kahwen in battle.
Falchion: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (3, 3) + 10 = 16
Pretty sure it's part of a move
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Raging last turn and still raging now. Let's say that Farket's anger was caused mostly because he got confused and oh so nearly hacked an ally...
Shaking with fury and red in the face, the dwarf propels himself through the bog, with his little dwarven legs a-pumping at a fierce rate. run x3 30' base move.
Skirting the embattled enemy trogs, he runs around to their rear, lowering his glaive to set up an assault from behind, and an opportunity attack should they flee.

Kahwen |
Kahwen lets out a squawk of pain as he is struck from an unexpected angle. It does not stop him from finishing off the opponent he was attacking, though. And he does not have time to waste dealing with it while there is still a threat to his fellow Pathfinders.
He scrabbles out of the stream and skirts around the reach of the remaining troglodyte, brushing past Farket in the process. The creature's attention is split between him and Shabah and Kahwen waits for the perfect moment to strike before jabbing his blade at a vulnerable point.
Elven Curve Blade: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Slashing: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (2, 2) + 10 = 14
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Cooling down as he anticipates the combat coming to its end, Farket exits his towering (for a dwarf) rage. Nonetheless, despite being fatigued, he maneuvers around the melee and slashes out at the remaining trog with his glaive:
fort vs stench: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
attack, fatigued, flanking: 1d20 + 5 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 1 + 2 = 23

DM Snider |
Shabah moves up and with a powerful swing brings down his enemy, cutting him in two.
Making it back to Uori, you tell of your good fortune. He is pleased with you and hands you a wand.
"This is a wand of shield of faith. I hope it serves you well. Do you need any help with the ritual sight or the carvings. I would be happy to help."
Kahwen |
We make a fine team of pathfinders do we not, fellows? Kahwen comments as the second troglodyte is cut down.
He returns to the gillman and his shrine with the rest of the group. It is our duty and honor to help those in need, the Tengu tells the man, though he will not turn aside the gift.
Seeing no further danger on the horizon, he sheaths his sword on his back and waits for the rest of the party to ask their questions and get their answers.
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice, Greetings, aspiring Pathfinders! Six months ago, while I was mapping cave entrances in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, I witnessed a lone gillman entering a concealed cave. I thought little of it at the time, but I saw another one enter the cave again a month later as my Confirmation stretched on. A few days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.” Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there."
Farket raises his voice to the worshipping gillman, hoping to catch his attention. "Hey Fishman. We heard they wuz two of ya in here. Who's the other one? Is he with you? What's going on in these tunnels anyhow?".
Charming diplomacy isn't his forte.
Kimberly S Snow |
Kimberly will take the wand if no one else will. I thank you. To our dwarf's point. there have been other gillmen observed coming in here. could you tells us more of this place and where others of your kind may go?
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
DM Snider |
We come here to this alter to pray. The carvings in the other part of the cave refer to the old god this alter was ment for, Aroden. The carvings explain things to do to get his blessing."
The gillman goes on and tells what he knows and what he believes the interpretation to be.
was said to smile on those who recorded history and other knowledge to share it with others. To complete the Scholar’s ritual, a you must record a historical fact, axiom, or other piece of wisdom on a scrap of paper and place it in the miniature city. Completing this ritual grants all of you a +1 competence bonus on Knowledge checks made to identify the abilities and weaknesses of creatures.
Shabah's Warform |
Interesting that such formalized rituals might have retained their power.
We should see if any of these rituals still meet with Aroden's approval.
Shabah shoos away the frogs that have returned to the city.
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Farket props one of the torches between the buildings in the miniature city. Aroden is not his God, but he doesnt need the torch's light and cannot see the harm in seeking a blessing for the group.
Remy LeBeau |
The magus will attempt to catch a fish commenting
Da poor little frogs, dey don know what is chasin' dem, a half orc or a smell trog? Is dere a difference? he says with a chuckle.
Kahwen |
As Shabah and Farket seem to have 2 of the rituals well in hand and he has little knowledge of history, Kahwen decides to help Remy with catching a fish. He does know a thing or two about aquatic creatures, after all, with his background as a sailor. (Other things he knows a thing or two about as a sailor - swearing and dirty poems/songs. It's a shame there's no bawdy wench ritual, honestly.)
He joins Remy at the pond and wades in a bit, trying to herd one or more of the fish into an inlet where the man can grab one without it being able to escape to one side or the other.
The troglodyte is probably better. At least it looks more like them. And Shabah isn't smelly in either form. Kahwen answers as he focuses on the fish in the pool.
Are rolls needed for any of this?
DM Snider |
Rolls are needed to scare the frogs away and to catch the fish. I was trying not to give them all away. Unfortunatly a few of them you just do and there is no roll. However Frogs and Fish both have rolls
Farket / Oathbreaker |
Farket, having moved the torches to complete one task, takes 10 to aid another on the fish task. Then, when this is complete, he does the same on the frog task.
Ie +2 on Remy's roll (Intimidate? Dex?) then +2 on someone else's for the frogs.
Kimberly S Snow |
Kimberly pulls a parchment from her pouch, well after some searching and some sort of tug-of-war game with her satchel.
she eventually retrieves what she is after and sits to write something from her past; a scene she was witness to.
Once done, she places the paper in the mini city.
Though I do not follow Aroden, I do respect his teachings.
Kahwen |
Ok, I thought it was a little too easy. I'm not sure what rolls are appropriate so I'll just go with what I think is closest. Things have gotten kind of jumbled up about who is doing what so I leave it to the DM to decide if these are aid another actions or direct attempts.
To catch a fish - Dexterity: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
To shoo the frogs - Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
