San Francisco, the City by the Bay, is quaint, picturesque, and romantic--at least when the sun's out. When a chill fog rolls off the bay at night, curious and dangerous things prowl the streets of San Francisco. A handful of heroes blessed, or cursed, with powers beyond the normal limits of human achievement also prowl the streets. This band of heroes hunts the hunters to keep the citizens safe and the daytime city picturesque and romantic just like on the postcards.

This will be a Mutants & Masterminds Third Edition game with occult and horror themes. That doesn't mean that all character concepts have to be magic or mysticism based. Personally, I can see several iconic non-magic superheroes in such a setting walking into the obviously haunted house while whistling the Ghostbusters theme. And even coming back alive, barely, after kicking Dracula's butt.

I'm looking for PL10/150PP builds. Don't worry if you haven't played the game before, I have access to the Herolabs files for this system and a random character generator that works decently. Post an interesting concept here and we'll see about working out the crunch. Of course, if you'd like to stat out your own character, that's cool.

Please let me know if you have any more questions regarding the game. I'd like to select characters about this time next Sunday (September 16).

No need to vote STvOEH it the one and only, Now I have to go wash my mind of the idea of an Undead superman.

Thinking a interdimensional operative PC whos job with others is to hold the stop brakes in the Fabric of Time and space but the "Others" things out side of it.

Thinking she will have more than one points of consciousness in time and can manipulate time local to her, see shadows of the past, Echos in places, or with great effort push time back even loop it around ehr locally for a few seconds or even mins.

See I Love the idea of Sapphire from the UK SiFi show Sapphire & Steel from the late 1970s early 80s.

Sapphire & Steel

Object/location reading, TP, knowing time past, time sensitivity.
Dimension travel in a way, 100% non human, but looks and acts human.
There to Stop brakes in reality and Time.

Thinking name wise Transuranic element Onyx as a name "Black Diamond"

also Could I ask Time frame, 1900s 1960s Today etc.

Time frame for this will be current day.

Thanks Robertness

I expect villains and heroes to both have access shinier than you can buy at Fry's tech. That's one of the things Power Points are for after all. Looking at the link for Sapphire & Steel, we'd have to think carefully about how postcognition and other timey-whimey powers would be used.

You! You are a fan. I can see it. A fan of what you say?

The Doctor. What Doctor? You know, the Doctor. Doctor Who?

Lol!

Anyways, I am looking to submit my character for this game. I have not made one yet even though I did for Arknight's game. I am going to make a new one using Hero Lab.

As for concept, I am thinking one of several at this point:
[list]

  • A technological who is always making/playing with some sort of high tech gadget that is not available to the public.
  • A speedster with hypersonic flight (he will be different then the other game).
  • Someone who can alter his form to metal. Something like a complete change which makes him look like he is made out of metal. His weight, mass and strength would change.

Let me know what you think of these concepts. I am still getting a grasp for the setting so if they are out of place let me know. I will probably need more info to make something that fits better.

  • I'm thinking a werewolf for this one. Or a super-ultra genius who could disable a 747 with a well placed pebble. I will play with the rules and see what I come up with.

Grand Moff(fit) Vixen did you see the show at the week end.
Just Chilling, never see the Doc played with such skill.

"Did they beg?, the ones you throw out in the air locks"

    just before he.

You can take every comic book supper and Villon that ever was and will be, when a small blue box shows up they had better all run, run as fast as they can.

“He’s like fire and ice and rage. He’s like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun. He’s ancient and forever. He burns at the center of time and he can see the turn of the universe. And… he’s wonderful”

    Liberty's Edge

    Augh!

I am sorely tempted to submit a character to this, especially as I actually live in San Francisco, but I haven't played M&M since 1st edition...

That's ok. I have never played M&M for any edition, even though I have the 2e pdf.

Of course I saw it! I get home with about an hour and a half before it airs.

I am about to start watching the seasons starting with season 1 episode 1. My fiancé got me into it over the last few months and since netflix has all the seasons I am going to see them all.

    Woot!

Definitely going to make a character for this! Ill have one posted up tommorrow. Any other special rules for character creation? Or just standard? Thanks.

@Spugly: Just to be clear, I'm not ruling out time powers. I think they can help curtail certain "ghosts don't leave fingerprints" and "vampires don't show up on security cameras" issues.

@Jelany: Either of those concepts could work. There are reasons why the werewolf would be amusing.

@Vixen: Speedster, really? You've never been on the Bay Bridge at rush hour. Seriously, any of those could work.

@Orranis: Don't worry about not being "current" with the rules. Concept, fun RP, and playing well with other players (not necessarily other PCs) are more important. I haven't lived in the Bay Area for over seven years, so this will be more of an artistic interpretation of the region more than a map.

Standard character creation rules. I'll be running them through Hero Lab to check the math. Please feel free to create NPCs and locations for your background, but don't feel compelled to stat them.

Play won't be limited to San Francisco itself (haunted winery just added to GM's notes), so it's OK if your character lives in any Bay Area location. If you're not familiar with the region, tell us what kind of location you're looking for and we can help with specifics.

Oooo TimeLord PC hummm thinking, yerrr going to make a TIMELORD with a TARDIS.

    "The Professor"

professor derives from Latin as a "person who professes"

Are we starting on a team? Would we have been invited to SF? Do normal people know about metahumans? Are there other superhero teams or are we unique?

I'm trying to write a background for my dude, but realized I don't know enough. Definitely going for a werewolf. Probably a detective in his day job. Not exactly original, but always an archetype I enjoy.

Thinking he would have an acting up Time time machine, and not let on hes not human. Think he stuck earth for the time being.

(all pre-time war, or Alt univ)

Or Onyx an operative to a higher power looking after the reality of time and space.

Allan Lovecraft, a former professor of Folklore and Mythology at Golden Gate University with a passion for the works of Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft. Only recently discharged from a local mental institution.

He would have normal physical stats and above average mental stats. His "costume" would be that of a pulp detective: London Fog overcoat, fedora, pinstripe three piece suit.

His powers would be mental/magic. Mostly, crowd control stuff rather than direct damage (e.g. Confuse, Illusion, Emotion Control:Fear) plus some sensory/mental powers like ESP and Mind Reading.

    RPG Superstar 2015 Top 8

I'd be interested if we're still allowed to throw our hat in. Caveat: I do not own M&M3. I've played it once. I do own M&M2 and have the license to generate characters for THAT in Hero Lab (but feel too cheap to unlock M&M3). I could try to do that if it was helpful.

    Concept 1:
    Lectra Carpenter
Seemingly an unassuming librarian, Lectra is an expert linguist and has lent her skills to the British government for translational and decoding purposes. Unbeknowst to many, however, she has used her considerable skill at unlocking linguistic and mathematical patterns in dusty Hermetic tomes she found hidden away in the archival libraries she has worked for. She is working on mastering the secrets of magic within to fight the dark forces hidden away in the world.

Powers would be language comprehension, divination and some general, typical "superhero magic" -- magic blast, levitation, force fields.

    Concept 2:
    Luci Lopez
Luci is a young, street-smart woman from New York. Her family was killed when she was a teenager by what she believed were thugs--but over time, trying to find out what happened, she has gathered that her family's murderers were a group of vampires. Why they targeted her family she is uncertain--but it may well have to do with an unusual ability she herself developed around the same time her family was killed: Luci kind of sets things on fire by pointing at them. She herself lacks a lot of information as to why she has this gift, but she certainly knows that vampires are allergic to fire, and in the name of avenging her family, she's learning to use her gifts to make sure any vampire she comes across is burned to ash as fast as possible.

Powers: Fire touch, fire blast, with some fire resistance/immunity to go with it.

Ok have the core crunch for Onyx. in the alt GM could you give it a once over and let me know what you think, thanks.

Here is Silver wolf. I don't have his history written yet, I just want to make sure he is ok to go before I put it down.

Uhh...dude. I totally claimed werewolf. I guess I could still submit my guy, but they are extremely similar.

This is I think not a children's playground, make your own character, there is nothing written anywhere any of the three of us will be part of the game, Robertness will make his own assessment between the characters, so he might choose one wolf or the other or both. The way to make sure you get picked is making an even better character.

    Dotting for interest :)

Wolves do run in packs guys...

Never played M&M but am a major comics nut and used to play Golden Heroes RPG back in the day.

    Would need some help with the "crunch" Robertness, but would like to submit a concept for your delectation;

    Henge

Big rock/earth guy but is magically (druidic?) powered rather than cosmic or chemically. Would draw on some of British/Scottish folklore to build his background... A (literal) brick with regards abilities, with some mystical/magical effects thrown in for good measure...

possible alternative name for above is Menhir...

    DM Jelani wrote:

Well shoot. Now I feel like a total jerk. I didn't even see your post thinking Werewolf lol. ....I'm sorry? Submit him and then maybe we will both submit alternate ideas and see which Werewolf(if any) wins out?

If both werewolves are considered perhaps Robertness/you guys could incorporate some "pack" based power augments/boosts - function like teamwork feats/powers?

Pack Mentality; Increased Will saves whilst in close proximity...

Wailing Howl; When both characters howl in unison - creates a demoralising effect against foes...

    That sort of thing?

    My 2 gamma rays worth

I'm checking the boards during my lunch break at work. Extensive replies concerning character concepts and crunch will have to wait until I've returned to the comfort of my lair.

That said, some quick background ideas based on my pondering Jelani's questions while driving to work this morning.

    Jelani wrote:
Are we starting on a team? Would we have been invited to SF? Do normal people know about metahumans? Are there other superhero teams or are we unique?

Starting in the middle: Normal people are vaguely aware of metahumans, but they are rare enough to be dismissed as urban legends. Most big cities have a "mysterious masked guardian" that gets periodic press coverage and people with the proper connections know there are more metahumans operating below the mass consciousness. Strange villains with crazy powers are more common, but often dismissed in the mainstream media as drugged up lunatics. For the record, SF doesn't have a "masked guardian" at this time.

Superhero teams are almost unheard of. There are rumors of a metahuman team operating in New York and a federal government initiative to organize a Metathreat Response Agency. That said, selected characters will start as part of an organization, but it isn't a superhero team per se. The characters are all affiliated with the Knights of Califea, a secret society which traces its origins back to the 1850s. We can work out how you came to be invited to join the society on a case-by-case basis as we work out character backgrounds.

As I said above, these ideas were just cooked up this morning and I'm happy to consider suggestions.

    Notes from the Robert Lair

@Spuggly: I prefer Onyx of the two characters. If you have a Hero Lab file for her, let me know and I’ll send you my e-mail address.

@Logan: The basic concept is a good start; do you want help with the crunch?

@DeathQuaker: I like both Lectra and Luci and could easily formulate evil schemes involving either of them. My understanding is it’s not hard to translate M&M 2 to M&M 3. Work up whichever of the characters you’d prefer in Hero Lab for 2 and I’ll convert it to 3 and see what we think of it.

@Trup and Jelani: Ooh, a fight for pack dominance already. Trup, I’ll look at the crunch for Silver Wolf later, but bear in mind that I’ll be looking at the total character package including background.

@Black Dow: I like your concept and have a couple ideas for how to stat. I’ll roll them both up and we can discuss them.

Hm... Interesting. I'd like to give this a try. I've never played M&M, any edition, although I've thought about it in the past... I'll give the rules a look-see and see if I come up with a concept.

I will give a heads up now that I tend to prefer my superheroes a little more hero and a little less super, so if I can come up with a good way to do that, I might. On the other hand, Gambit and Wolverine/Sabretooth are both loves of mine... I'll see what I come up with, if anything.

GM Cool, Ill PM about her Gm robertness
I like her better as wellm she has fixed limits that make her usfull but not hyperlevel powered shes more a time Agent detective whitch I realy like.

Black Dow, this is a first attempt to build an elemental brick. I think he came out a little more brickish than you had in mind, but the beauty of this system is we can now go in and start messing with stuff. Let me know what you think.

    Menhir:
    Menhir - PL 10

    Strength 14, Stamina 2, Agility 2, Dexterity 2, Fighting 5, Intellect 0, Awareness 3, Presence 1

Living Rock: Immunity 30 (Fortitude Effects; Limited - Half Effect)
Reconstitution: Regeneration 10 (Every 1 round; Source: Rock)

Groundstrike: Burst Area Affliction 10 (DC Fort 20)

    Power Points
    Abilities 34 + Powers 82 + Advantages 3 + Skills 16 (32 ranks) + Defenses 15 = 150

I'll post Henge in a little while. An alternate build that's more druidic but still brickish.

Robertness, I am trying to make a combo of two of my concepts. The hypersonic flight with the alternate form: metal. He would be immune to things like large caliber weapons, does not need to breathe when in metal form, has enhanced strength with some reasonable fighting ability. He is a security guard/bouncer sort. I am thinking that the strength does not activate unless in metal form. The flight would be independent.

While I have a few ideas on putting it all together, I am still looking for any suggestions on how to put this together.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Black Dow, this is a second alternative to Druidic brick. Where my mental concept of Menhir is living rock granted locomotion and volition by Druidic rituals, Henge is a Druid that used the ritual to turn himself into living rock. Henge winds up being a cross between a brick and an earth bender from Avatar.

    Henge:

    Henge - PL 10

    Strength 9, Stamina 2, Agility 3, Dexterity 2, Fighting 6, Intellect 0, Awareness 1, Presence 2

    Advantages
Accurate Attack, Favored Environment: Woodlands, Improved Initiative

    Skills
    Acrobatics 4 (+7), Athletics 4 (+13), Deception 8 (+10), Expertise: Occult 8 (+8), Ranged Combat: Element Control 8 (+10)

    Powers
Earth Control: Move Object 10 (25 tons; Increased Range: perception; Limited: Earthen Materials)
    . . Earth Blast: Blast 10 (Alternate; DC 25)
. . Earthen Snare: Cumulative Affliction 10 (Alternate; 1st degree: Hindered, Vulnerable, 2nd degree: Immobile, Defenseless, DC 20; Alternate Resistance (Dodge), Cumulative, Extra Condition; Limited Degree)
    Earth Form
. . Like a Pebble on the Strand: Concealment 4 (All Visual Senses; Limited: Earthen surroundings)
    . . Pass Through Rock: Burrowing 6 (Speed: 4 miles/hour, 60 feet/round)
. . Tremor Sense: Senses 1 (Ranged: Touch)
    Earthen Body
    . . Gaia's Energy: Enhanced Strength 8 (+8 STR)
    . . The Land's Resiliency: Protection 8 (+8 Toughness; Impervious)
Elemental Constitution: Immunity 12 (Critical Hits, Life Support)
Reconstitution: Regeneration 10 (Every 1 round; Source: Earth)

    Offense
    Initiative +7
    Earth Blast: Blast 10, +2 (DC 25)
Earth Control: Move Object 10 (DC 20)
    Earthen Snare: Cumulative Affliction 10, +6 (DC Dog/Fort/Will 20)
    Grab, +6 (DC Spec 19)
    Throw, +2 (DC 24)
    Unarmed, +6 (DC 24)

    Languages
    English

    Defense
    Dodge 4, Parry 6, Fortitude 10, Toughness 10, Will 7

    Power Points
    Abilities 34 + Powers 82 + Advantages 3 + Skills 16 (32 ranks) + Defenses 15 = 150

Validation: Complications: At least 2 Complications are required

Vixen, I'll get to your concept tomorrow night.

@ Zouron - I know this isn't a playground. Thanks for the sass. How about I write up the same character as you with a different backstory and we'll see who's 'better'? ~_~*

@ Trup - No biggy man. I doubt you did it on purpose. I shouldn't have even said anything, I was just a little miffed to see something almost identical to what I'd worked out but not posted yet. Instead of doing something constructive I just whined.

    ----------------

I'm not interested in competing directly with another player, so I'll be going for a different concept. Especially since we might end up with a brick type as well.

I'm thinking a psychic police detective instead.

    Background:

Roman Cain first realized he was different from other people in the back seat of his 1990 Dodge Spirit. He was 17 years old and about to make it to to 'home base' with his highschool sweetheart, Amanda. As the heat was reaching its peak he could suddenly hear everything she was thinking. Freaked out by this he told her to stop and she did so without even a response. She just sat there staring blankly. He fled the car scared and confused. The next day his girlfriend broke up with him over the phone, and refused to talk to him. As she was his first love, he was devastated.

Over the next few days he figured out that he now had the ability to hear people's thoughts, and to compel them to do what he wanted. He also figured out that they couldn't remember anything when under his compulsions. At first he abused the power, forcing his teachers to give him As on his schoolwork, and taking whatever he wanted from stores without paying. He even used his ability on his parents whenever he didn't like the way they were treating him. One day he decided that he wanted Amanda back, so he cornered her after school and used his powers to make her "agree" to go out with him again. This went on for a few days, Roman so happy to be back with her that he was blind to her confusion. One day she didn't come to school, and wouldn't answer her phone. Worried about her, he went to her house after school and let himself in. He found her in the bathtub with her wrists slit. That day he nearly lost his mind. He ran away from home and lived on the streets for a few weeks, wracked with terrible guilt over what he'd done. He vowed never to compel someone again, except in self defense or in defense of the life of another.

I an attempt to make amends for the bad he'd done, he finished his senior year out and then went to college to study criminology. After graduating he landed a job in SFPD and quickly worked his way up to detective. His 100% case closure rate and his reputation for always knowing things that he shouldn't attracted the attention of the Knights of Claifea. They invited him to join, and excited by the prospect of working with other 'abnormal' people to do good in the world, he agreed. He's been assisting them as needed ever since.

I'm not sure how to do the crunch on the powers. I want him to really only have two (with one alternate), but at a very high level. He can read thoughts, and compel people to do his will. An alternate of the compulsion would just be a "mind blast" type attack. Their brain melts and blood comes streaming out of their nose type deal. Can you advise me as how best to do that Robertness? Or whoever? Thank you.

Okay, I've got a concept I'm enamored with. I'm working on a short narrative to introduce the character and explain her origin, nature of powers, etc. I'll post it as soon as I'm done.

Since I have no familiarity with the 3E rules and no access to them, I'm hoping what I come up with translates well. I appreciate your assistance.

Orannis, you can use this website -- http://www.d20herosrd.com to see most of the 3e rules for M&M. I have been using it myself as I only own the 2e rulebook.

Jelani, Roman's a do-able concept. Here's a quick idea for how to make the powers work.

    Powers for Roman:

Telepathy: Mind Reading 5 Linked to Area Mental Communication 3 • 25 points

Mind Control: Perception Range Cumulative Affliction 6 (Resisted by Will; Dazed, Compelled, Controlled) • 24 points
    * Mental Blast: Perception Range Damage 6, Resisted by Will • [Alt Effect] 1 point

Possibly pick one of these as an additional alternate effect of the Mind Control:

Weaken Resolve: Perception Range Weaken Will 8 • [Alt Effect] 1 point

Mental Paralysis: Perception Range Cumulative Affliction 6 (Resisted by Will; Dazed, Stunned, Paralyzed) • [Alt Effect] 1 point

As they're listed here, all of the attacks are 24 point powers. If you improved one, it would cost more points and become the first item in the array.

Think Onyx is done now moved some powers and shifted some things to get just what I wanted, Tweaks etc.

    Robertness

Man both concepts are great - really stuck on which is better... combo of both?

Am leaning towards Menhir as a favoured codename...

However love the names of Henge's powers etc...

BTW would you consider running 2 groups? Perhaps two groups with different modus operandi, would be fun to have crossovers in true comic book style

    ** spoiler omitted **

Thank you. I think I'll slap the progressive modifier on the Mind Control. So that would make it 36 points right?

Throwing Effortless and one rank of Subtle on the Mind Reading would make it 37 points, right?

Is there no way to do the memory loss while they are controlled then?

I think I can handle the rest of the stats on my own, thanks again. ^_^

    Sczarni

Just tossing a hat in the ring here...don't have the 3e books with me, so help with the crunchy bits would be super-nice.

It was a day, just like any other day. I woke up, slugged back the dregs of the whiskey in my bedside glass, and strapped on my armor. 1800, the alarm clock reads. Just enough time to gear up before nightfall. Before the true work of the day begins.

Joseph Pritchard was once a "normal" man, performing his day-to-day tasks at the local super-store until one fateful day when 4 armed thugs broke in at closing and held the place up. Somehow, from somewhere deep in his psyche, Joseph's inner warrior emerged. He subdued the first two criminals with ambushes, using improvised weapons found at the super-store, before the group new they were under attack.

Their partners turned on him and sprayed the three of them down with automatic gunfire before fleeing, but somehow Joseph survived. Scarred both physically and emotionally, he now prowls the night, seeking out and subduing criminals. He supports himself by selling their possessions (but never their stolen goods) and through a half-arsed P.I. firm he runs from his crappy one-bedroom apartment.

Borderline alcoholic, but trying to clean himself up, Joseph is a man looking for redemption, but is not sure either the city or himself deserves that.

Crunchy bits: I see this character as a mix between Batman and the Punisher. He uses all the modern day gear he can get his hands on, including firearms, explosives, and the like, but tries his best NOT to simply kill criminals.

Physically, he's tough as nails, agile, fast, and a right proper scrapper, but doesn't have "super" powers, per se. Instead, he relies on stealth, trickery, misdirection, and ambushing folks with overwhelming force before they can act.

I figure he'd get mixed up in whatever mythos stuff is happening purely by happenstance, investigating something much more mundane and feeling obligated to assist in preventing the consumption of SF by extra-planar monsters.

Thanks! That's been a huge help, and I'm working on my character now.

Again, I'm checking the boards during my lunch break, so I don't have access to HL and PDFs of the books. So some issues will have to wait.

@Black Dow: I'm glad you prefer the code name Menhir. As I understand it Henge refers to an entire complex while Menhir is an individual standing stone. Depending on how many people are interested in this, I may try two groups with possible cross overs. If you decide to go with the build I labeled as "Henge", we can easily change the name and power names can be changed to suit your tastes. One of the cool things about the system is how the same game effect can be re-skinned to improve character individuality.

    Question for Dow:
Both of these builds have the character as a walking pile o' rock 24/7 a la Ben Grimm. Would you be interested in the character being able to turn the rockiness on and off and look like a normal person but not having rock effects at the time?

@Jelani: I'll take a look at the power tweaks later. What memory loss are referring to? If it's in background write up, I'll look at it again later.

@psionichamster: I'll take a look at your concept later. Again, my tools are at home. Don't forget the website Logan linked to. The link again.

Yes, it is in the background. Basically the idea was that when people are under his mind control they can't remember what happened.

Robertness - cool lets go with MENHIR then... but with the basic framework that you built under "Henge" :)

    Answer for Robertness:

Mmmm - am split; there's a definate challenge in being the earth golem 24/7 however I like the idea of druidic rituals to turn on and off the Menhir form... not an instantaneous flip, but a deliberate (and possibly costly) decision to become Menhir or human/druid...

Am possibly thinking of his alter ego being an environmentalist whose discovered the earth's secrets? Don't want him being too "Concrete" or rock-hippy though - more the primal force of Gaia...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

For some reason I start thinking of this:

By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!

Forgive me for such a horrible attempt at a joke. :-)

Robertness, here is the basic idea around what I am making for my character:

    Background:
Marcus Cole works as a security guard and bouncer for local clubs. He is trying to find a place to fit in and feel of some use.

Marcus lived a downtrodden life unlike other teenagers. Every day seemed to be a hum drum existence. He was smaller than the other kids and always being picked on (Marcus is 15 at this time). His stepfather Jack was a mean drunk and always beating him up. His mother was sick most of the time because what money she had been making or saving was taken by good ol’ dad for his stupid booze. Marcus hated him.

On his way home from school he would hang out in a large construction site for skyrise that was going up. He just didn’t like going home so soon. One particular day as he was hanging out there, he noticed some black sedans and a large commercial truck pulling into the site. He snuck over to look and see what they were doing. They seemed to be dumping some chemicals into the foundation of the building. He was discovered and caught. He told them that he just hung out there after school. He managed to wiggle free and started running. One of them threw a board at him and tripped him into the chemicals.

The black suits took off and left him there. He got out and went to a friends house and cleaned up and then went home. He didn’t feel good. His head was buzzing and he felt very tired & heavy. Fortunately, dad had been drinking and was sleeping when Marcus came in. That evening when he checked on mom he saw that she wasn’t doing so well. She had been coughing up blood again. She sent him out to the store to get her some medication with some cash to get it. Jack was awake and saw him trying to go out. He demanded to know where he was going. He told him he was going to get mom some meds.
Jack claimed he stole it from him and thrashed him good for that one. Maybe those bruises would teach him not to steal again.

That night, he went out to the construction site again to look around. This time he went up to the top floor (15 stories). He hurt so much he wanted to scream. Hearing some noise, he went and looked around. Those men were back! He tried to sneak around to the elevator so he could get down. They saw him and made chase. As he rounded a corner he ran into the big creepy one. Marcus kicked him in the legs to get free. Trying to teach him a lesson, he backhanded him.....off the edge. Screaming as he fell, the ground rushed at him. Squeezing his eyes shut he waited for the impact to come. He realized that he never hit the ground. Carefully, cautiously, he opened his eyes. He was hovering 5’ above the ground! With that, he suddenly dropped the rest of the way. He was incredulous. He actually flew! He suddenly noticed that his body was metallic. Nobody would believe him if he told anyone about it.

He kept it a secret and when he was old enough he moved out and began college. He found that his strength and size increased dramatically when he shifted. He started working in low end security jobs and soon made his way into a good position as the assistant chief of security in a medium sized security business.

He was soon approached by a member of the Knights of Califea. The head of the company was part of this order and had noticed that Marcus never got hurt even when there was a gunfight. Marcus has been working with the order when they have need of his talents.

lol... that was Plan C :)

And now I'm afflicted with memories of the Robot Chicken sketch where Ted Turner flips out and thinks he's Captain Planet.

Dow let me work up a Menhir 2.0. Is there anything you'd like to request before I get too far along with it?

@Jelani: You can add a second condition to your Mind Control which effectively doubles the base cost. That would allow you to have the target Controlled and Unaware at the third degree of the affliction. The problem I have with this is what useful conditions could you add for the first and second degrees?
