This will be the Shackled City adventure path using the Pathfinder rule set. However, the existing deities (i.e. St. Cuthbert, Pelor, Wee Jas) will not be converted to similar Golarion gods.

"Do you think it's safe?"
Aralynn: "Do you think *anything* on this plane is safe?"
"I think we're safe."
Aralynn: "Unless you're a scone." Aralynn bobs in the direction of Atol. "Unless you're gnomish dignity." Aralynn bobs in the direction of Glim. "Unless one values the last of their humanity." Aralynn bobs in the direction of Toffitt. "Or unless they are the last of fighting spirit of Kord." Aralynn bobs in the direction of Finn.
"Why can't you be nice?"
Aralynn: "Why can't be cudgel the unbelievers into conversion?"
"That's not how things work. Our strength comes from many sources."
Aralynn: "I should cudgel you for saying something so stupid. Strength comes from the Cudgel. Do not forget that."

Dyrant does not reply.

"That is a Couatl, usually a servant of all that is good and lawful. We should speak to it or see if it needs our aid."

Dyrant nods to Glim, asking him to see if he can free the Couatl.

Glimmil glances to Dyrant and nods, as if there is no doubt that he should be the one to represent the Cauldron Five in practically any negotiation in the Abyss.

"Hail, Snake-bird! Are you in need of our aid?"

Cast Detect Evil, since Glimmil's had some issues before with things that should've been good but weren't so much.

Dyrant nods to Finn.


Glimmil detects evil for a couple rounds and doesn't detect anything evil besides the plane itself. Finneas cuts open the cyst and drags out a couatl soaked in the puss of the cyst. Dyrant and Finneas examine the unresponsive couatl and find it has some injuries, but none that look particularly lethal. The couatl appears on the edge of dying (0 hit points), but in a coma of some sort.

In the meantime, Atol and Toffitt have moved 60' down the path of the lantern.

The couatl is a large size creature. A couatl is about 12 feet long, with a wingspan of about 15 feet. It weighs 1,800 pounds.

They're moving because the three of you stopped to cut out the couatl. Otherwise, the teleporation effect will kick in.

Dyrant's healing closes the wounds of the couatl, but it remains unconscious.

As the party rounds one of the corners they find a group of humans beside the beheaded corpse of an angel likely pulled out of a nearby cysts. Three of the humans wear studded leather armor and have daggers. The fourth wears plate mail and wields a spear. They do not seem happy to see you approach.

Toffitt continues alongside Atol, stepping off the path slightly to put himself between the cleric and the treasure hunters. "What brings you to this place? My friends here will likely be most unhappy if you're desecrating the bodies of angels." He whispers loud enough for Glimmil and Atol to hear. "But let's not borrow trouble if we've no need to do so."

Glimmil continues to trot ahead on Cog, but slows when he sees the others "hunting treasure."

"I don't know..." he wonders suspiciously. "Although, if they're trying to rescue angels, maybe they can help us, too?"

He advances cautiously, looking to the wiser and more clever members of the Cauldron Five for an indication of the best course of action.

Cast Detect Evil on these folks. Move 10ft to T,34.


Finneas senses that the treasure hunters might find the party's treasures tempting and starts on an enlarge person. Atol also cautiously casts a bless before continuing his obligatory 15' down the path the lantern leads him along. Glimmil checks for evil, which is always present here on this plane--except for those moments where the cathederal was whole. He will have to concentrate longer to see if the people ahead are evil. Dyrant starts flying and talking. Toffitt also starts talking as he moves into Glimmil's charge lane.

The intentions of the group become quite obvious as the first two cast a spell before moving up to flank Toffitt before trying to stab him. [ooc]I'm not sure if Glimmil had his lance out. If so, they provoke--they avoided Toffitt by scampering onto the cyst.

The female casts a spell before moving closer while the 4th one drinks a potion and turns invisible.

Yep, Glimmil has his lance out. It's his default item anywhere hostile, since you never know when he will actually get to charge! :)

As the robbers descend on their position, Glimmil thrusts his lance at the first hostile on-comer before he can complete his warning them to stop.

Finneas moves into a flank with Toffitt, but still misses.

Atol tries to tumble away, but the dagger wielding man ignores him. Atol gets safely away and casts invisibility purge. There was confusion about which way was forward. Atol actually ends up in W-35. Forward next round is to at least V-38.

Glimmil and Cog have a poor showing as neither of them hit. Glimmil stores his lance and pulls out Claw-Whomper.

Dyrant watches the action.

Toffitt cuts down the human that he flanks with Finneas. Poor guy never got to use his true strike. Didn't want to waste it on Atol without the sneak.

The man moves behind Toffitt and waits for his flank. The woman casts a spell and then moves up. First the man stabs Toffitt with his poisoned knife and then the woman touches Toffitt with death itself.
