I'm good on the defensive, don't know what I'm up against at this time so it's best to simply defend myself until I do.

earlier in the thread it was mentioned that it was 4 times the movement cost, so now itst back to 2?

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Can you show me what you're talking about?

You wrote this: Because of the deep snowdrifts in the gully, entering a snow-covered square requires 4 squares of movement., but I only now understand that it was situational. Still, Grimkell only barely reaches the sprite.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Gotcha, yes, that was particular to that location.

Game left due to change in work situation

Zisel gave a heavy sigh. She had no clear shot of anything, not that she had particularly good aim as it was. Still, she could at least do something to help those who might. As she took a step towards the elf she began uttering a melodious chant and making simple gestures then lightly placed a hand on Mirri's shoulder to complete the spell.

Guidance:

Range touch
Targete creature touched
Duratione 1 minute or until discharged
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistancee yes

This spell imbues the subject with a touch of divine guidance.

The creature gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. It must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies.

On my mobile for today while the remediators are in my room, so I can't move my token. I intend to 5ft step to right behind Mirri if anyone else has the desire to move my token for me!

Will do!

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Lars we need that fortitude check, please!

Fortitude: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Suddenly the world grew large around Lars, or so he thought for a moment, for he quickly noticed that it was not the world that has grown, he had simply shrunk. Frustration, surprise and worry began to mix within the former pirate but he wouldn't let his foe see it "You have a problem with being a small man in a very big world, eh?" He asked as he gave their enemy a mocking smile.

Can I mock the enemy outside of my turn? ;)

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

You can talk whenever, it doesn't have to be on your turn...

As Lars shrinks down to a much smaller size, Jamarcus and Grimkell take off after the atomie. Zisel uses her magic to give Mirri a boost, as she maintains her defensive posture. Pym holds her position on Mirri's shoulder keeping watch over Mirri and Zisel.

Once more Lars' shield slid away from its position on his forearm and then he dashed forward He won't see me attacking him once he brought me down to his size The thought rolled in his head as he littered the ground beneath him with tiny boot marks. His now free arm drew out an equally tiny dart and with no hesitation Lars swung his arm and let the small projectile fly in the direction of Fawfein.

Swift Action to return the quickdraw shield to it's position.

Move Action to move and draw a dart.

Standard Action to attack.

Ranged Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 1 - 4 = 20 Taking into account the bonuses of being tiny and the disadvantages of attacking a target engaged in melee.

Lars' Dex modifier is +2 and he has a +1 from BAB. Being tiny adds a +2 size bonus to dexterity so that is another +1, and last but not least he gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and AC due to reduced sized.

Damage Roll: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Since he is tiny now, and so is all of his equipment, adjustments also need to be made according to the tiny scaling for damage, strength, and movement. As a tiny person his base speed is 20 ft, and you must also consider the adjustments for moving through the snow. I've adjusted his icon to represent his new size, made adjustments to your movement and actions based on these new considerations.

In regards to movement the spell description says that the spell does not alter the target's movement speed.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Indeed it does, I missed that.

With a target finally available Mirri readies her crossbow and fires a bolt at the attacking creature despite the fact she doesn't expect to hit it.

light crossbow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 71d8 ⇒ 6

In regards to strength I already took that into consideration; the spell says the target takes -2 to strength which is why I went with a +2 strength modifier on the roll instead of Lars' usual +3. The one thing I missed is the equipment going tiny as well. So that would mean Lars' damage roll is the following:

Damage roll: 1d2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Lars' dart hits the atomie even as Mirri's bolt misses completely.

Grimkell, too focused on the battle, does not even blink at the atomie's disappearance. Instead, having finally a chance to lunge at an enemy, he starts slicing the space were Fawfein was moments ago. As he does so, his thrusts are punctuated with humming of an old skaldic epic.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Zisel sighs and raises her dagger, preparing to throw it should the little Fawfein critter reappear within reasonable range (10-20ft).

Readying her dagger to throw, and taking a five foot step forward. In case it's needed, here is an attack and damage roll.

Thrown Attack Roll: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 (-2 if at a range of 11-20ft)
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Grimkell's blade slashes through the air, catching no sign of resistance; hitting no target.

Stopping in front of the tiny humanoid, Jamarcus pauses for a second.

[b] Man, dis' don't seem fair.. Why we gotta cap all dem' tiny f#*~as? [b]

A tiny twitch of regret flutters through his face. He cocks his arm back for a wild hay-maker and lets loose, throwing his entire body behind the punch...

Martial flexibility as a move action to gain improved grapple. No AOO on grapple attempts and +2 on checks made to grapple a foe

The last second before the punch connects, Jamarcus springs his fingers open and attempts to catch the buzzing atomie out of the air.

Grapple: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 = 20

Jamarcus, Fawfein is invisible!

Oh hiding are we? I know this game well The tiny pirate nimbly pressed on to the bushes ahead of him,, diving into them without hesitation with another dart ready in his hand And you made me even better at it.

In silence Lars studied the area around them, he would wait for their enemy to reveal himself, after all they were not the ones pressed for time or disadvantaged by superior numbers. Their foe had two options escape or try for an attack while unseen If he were smart he'd run...but I doubt he's that clever The hiding scoundrel held back his sigh and continued to remain on his guard; waiting for their foe to reveal himself so he would let another dart fly to meet his flesh.

Move Action: move one square ahead, equip another dart and hide as part of that movement in the bushes.

Will Lars' now tiny size allow him to gain concealment or partial concealment in the small shrubbery?

Standard Action: Readied Action to attack Fawfein the moment he appears.

Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16 The extra point in the modifier came from the +2 to dex.

Readied Action: Ranged Attack Roll: 1d20 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 4 = 14 Please add a -4 if Fawfein is in engaged in melee when he appears.

Damage Roll: 1d2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Pym remains quiet and vigilant in Mirri's hair.

Jamarcus, Grimkell is right, Fawfein has gone invisible. Would you like to change your action?

Lars, yes partial coverage would occur.

Move 20 feet, ready a standard action to shoot if/when Fawfein becomes visible again.

Rolls in advance:

Longbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

These rolls assume the target is within 30 feet; if he isn't, subtract 1 from each.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Mirri:
"Fawfein is an atomie, he is winter-touched like me. The cold will not hurt him, sister, but fire will!"

Fawfein reappears several feet behind Grimkell. Zisel throws her knife and it disappears into the snow nearby. Lars throws a dart but it is likewise claimed by the voracious appetite of the snow. Theora and Mirri let loose their arrows, but alas, they thunk quietly into the snow sending up little puffs of the soft white stuff as they do.

Fawfein's gaze is steady on Grimkell. Failing a DC15 fortitude check, Grimkell also shrinks as Lars did.

Still focused on searching Fawfein in front of him, it takes a few minutes for Grimkell to realize that the atomie is behind him. However, as he feels magic invade his body, Grimkell becomes aware of the enemy close by. The ulfen quickly turns around to face him. Each of the steps taken toward the tiny foe is puntuated by the skald's humming which ends abruptly as he strikes with his sword.

Jamarcus rubs his eyes briefly after the tiny person seemed to vanish into thin air..

I swear I saw it here...

A faint buzzing sound behind him draws his attention and he turns around to see the creature behind Grimkell.

With a rumbling shout, Jamarcus covers the distance between them in a single dive, with his hand grasping for Fawfein.

Fawfein lashes out at Jamarcus with his rapier as Jamarcus lunges in to grab him, but misses in the confusion of movement and is swept up into Jamarcus' hands.

Pym remains quiet in Mirri's hair but shudders ever so slightly as she sees Fawfein fall to the same fate she found herself in no so long ago.

"Ha!" Grimkell cries out in triumph after Jamarcus grabs the atomie.

Apparently sure that they have won, Grimkell's attitude seems to become more relax: among others, he has stopped humming the battle epic.

He turns toward Mirri, his expression filled with trust, and quite encouraging. This should instill some confidence in her. He thinks.

"Fawfein, lady Mirri here knows your kind, and can show great mercy. Surrender to her and she will show you her greatness." the ulfen says, trying to push his fellow travelers into taking matters in their own hands.

"Excellent work, boy!" Theora chuckles, seeing Jamarcus' large hands close around the atomie. Sootfeather caws in agreement, flapping his wings as if to remind the others of his presence before alighting on the woman's staff again.

As she picks her way over the snow to the group, Theora checks for her spent arrows. One snaps when she tries to pull it from the tree; the other, having landed in the snow, seems serviceable.

Fired 3 cold iron arrows; 1 hit and was destroyed. Rolling to retrieve the other two, low succeds: 2d100 ⇒ (26, 55) = 81. Retrieved 1 arrow.

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

I'm still considering it to be in combat, the little guy won't be as nearly easy to subdue as was Pym and has the chance to roll to break the grapple. Granted, it isn't likely to happen, but still.

Game left due to change in work situation

Zisel, thinking that everything is now under control, walks over to where her dagger landed harmlessly in the snow and picks it up.

"Is there a reason you're so protective of this place?" she asked the little atomie in Jamarcus' hand. "I'd rather avoid having to combat every fey in the forest if it's all the same to you."

Male Human Brawler 1 HP: 13/13 | AC: 17 | Touch: 12 | FF: 13 | Initiative: 4 | F: 4 | R: 4 | W: 1 | CMB: 5 | CMD: 17 | Perception: 5

Jamarcus looks left and right and a boyish grin spreads over his face as his companions celebrate his lucky catch.

Feeling the tiny creature furiously squirming in his hands, he tries to carefully re-position his hands to close around the creatures arms and legs.

Perform standard action to change from grappled to pinned, +5 CMB

CMB: 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 2 + 5 = 23

So we collectin' these things now or wut?

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

Sigh... I haven't rolled for the atomie yet... Just nevermind. Basically the creature never submits and will continue to try to break free and injure anyone and everyone it can. Indeed, it likely does cause Jamarcus a couple of points of damage and probably stuns him with the cold once or twice. The only response that talking to it gets is being cursed out in Sylvan.

I am so sorry! I was writing my earlier post to spur people to be more active... not to give the impression that the fight was over...

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

No worries. Not a big deal. You just ultimately have a very hostile prisoner. What are you doing with him?

Whoops, by all means, just post for the atomie and we'll assume I use my action/post if it doesn't break out

Boss Lady Dragon of the Early Evening

At this point I'd really rather you just move on with things, thank you.

Gladly.

Save for the sound of snow being crushed under his boots, no sound came from the former pirate. His expression neutral and his sword casually at his side, its tip almost dipping into the white carpet beneath him "I honestly don't know what is more annoying" Said Lars once he was in front of the atomie.

"That I am not as tall as I used to be or that I saw a third rate swindler like you work" At the end of these words the former pirate pulled back his blade and stabbed at their grappled foe.

Oy vey, you're totally going to stab Jamarcus lmfao. There has to be some penalty for that action, I mean you're stabbing at something the size of a squirrel held in the large hands of a man. I'll have to look into that. I'll try to post tonight but I'm heading out here in a few.

Nah, you're the size of a halfling or a gnome - you were shrunken to "tiny". The atomie (and the sprite, Pym) are diminutive. If you were diminutive as well, there's no way I'd let you act, you'd be too busy trying to not suffocate in the snow.

Incidentally, the rules are still in your favor! Especially with as good of a roll as you had. Had you missed, though, I would have made it mean that you stabbed Jamarcus instead fyi ;) Too bad, that really would have been hilarious. [Insert evil DM laugh]

Lars' swift and decisive actions leave the atomie little more than a puddle of blood in Jamarcus' hands.

Grimkell lowers his sword, and stands down. The look of encouragement he had given Mirri now gone, his expression slightly more stern than usual. That was less than heroic. I wonder how I will have to put it in our tales. he thinks before sheathing his sword, and taking a step toward Jamarcus. After putting a hand on the atomie slayer's shoulder, he compliments him:

"Well done. You have good reflexes to have caught him mid-flight. This forest is really strange, sprites, atomies, a white deer, and strange drake... what would attract all these creatures her?" he asks, to everyone in the group. Laying his eyes on Lars, his focus changes: " Now, does any of you know whether the curse put on Lars can be broken?" as he finishes speaking, Grimkell turns toward Mirri and Zisel: the ones who seem more magically inclined to answer the quesion.
