[PbP Gameday VI] GM Ladile and the Pathfinder Society Present: Reaping What We Sow (Inactive)

Game Master Lady Ladile

When the flames of revolution swept through Galt, the Society lost much of what it held there: dozens of agents, several lodges, and the fellowship of countless contacts who foreswore the Society rather than become targets themselves. Although Venture-Captain Eliza Petulengro has reestablished a foothold in the country, she needs to rebuild her network of allies. One of the most important figures resides in Rosehaven, a small village due to celebrate its yearly festival of light and forgiveness. Petulengro hopes that an entourage of Pathfinders might participate in the festivities and endear itself to the Society’s former friend. Past evils have other plans, however, and unless the PCs can keep their wits about them, they might not just lose sight of the mission; they might lose their lives.

Greetings! This is a recruitment for the Pathfinder Society scenario "Reaping What We Sow" and will be run as part of Session #2 for the upcoming PbP Gameday VI. This is a 1-5 scenario, so any PC between the levels of 1 and 5 may play.

My name is GM Ladile and although I've been an active player on the Paizo forums for about three and 1/2 years, I've only been playing PFS for maybe two years and GMing a lot less than that. Although I'm still learning the ropes I'm excited to begin stepping up and running games for others and I'm looking forward to crafting a wonderful and entertaining story together! If you're still curious about me, feel free to scope out my profile and other games that I'm playing in or have been a player in, to determine if my general style of play might suit you - or ask questions, questions are good as well :)

Currently I have two seats reserved, leaving four available. However, I will be selecting at least one player that is either new to Organized Play, Play-by-Post, or both, for one of the remaining slots. The other three spots will be filled by lottery. If you're interested, please answer the following questions (borrowed and modified slightly from the lovely GM Hmm):

The Questions

1. Player Name:

2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both?

3. What excites you most about playing in this game?

4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies?

5. Are you able to post at least once a day?

6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation?

7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you?
______

That should be everything! Thank you very much for your interest!

1. Player Name: Andreas F

2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both?: Noooo... I started playing PFS in 2011 and got my first taste of PbP in 2013.

3. What excites you most about playing in this game?: I always find it interesting to play with inexperienced GMs/players. The possibility for seeing out-of-the-box thinking is high, and it keeps me from getting set in my ways :P

4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies?: I'm a Dane in his late twenties currently working towards a lab technician certificate. I've primarily played Pathfinder (and D&D 3.5e before that), but I've dabbled in other systems (7 Seas, GURPS, Exalted, Vampire: The Masquerade, Dark Heresy and probably more). Hobby-wise, it's just RPGs, but I did start playing when I was 9, and it suits me just fine.

5. Are you able to post at least once a day?: I usually check my PbP games at least twice a day, posting when necessary/relevant.

6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation?: Definitely. I'd hate to hold up the game.

7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you?: Indeed I will.

Liberty's Edge

The Questions
1. Player Name: Jason Rodarte
2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both? No
3. What excites you most about playing in this game? I like meeting new people as well as exploring different character concepts and seeing how they work.
4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies? Doctor in Education, Master's in Eeducation and Psychology, High school teacher. I prefer Pathfinder and 3.5 D and D especially Dragonlance
5. Are you able to post at least once a day? Yes
6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation? I do
7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you? I do
______

Since these two are by lottery, I'll put my name in for this one, too, but if picked for Portent's Peril will defer my ticket here.

1. Player: Tim M
2. Am I new to PbP or Organized play? I don't think that I can claim that. I've been playing PFS for approximately 8 months and PbP for... just over two months. It feels like a lot longer.
3. What excites me about this game? I heard this scenario is pretty fun. I missed my chance at release because my local lodge ran it the week before it was scheduled, while I was working (can you hear the violin?) so nobody left who hadn't played it. I would have liked to have played this one before running it, but I'll be running it concurrently during Session 2. I'm also keen to have you running it. I've enjoyed your characters.
4. Tell you about myself? I started with D&D Basic and AD&D 1st Ed. I joined online games and went to my first GenCon during AD&D 2nd Ed. I played the heck out of M:tG original release. Then I played and ran a custom RPG online for... a long time. I designed zones for MUDs, dabbled in White Wolf's games, Paladium, TMNTs. I played 3e abandoned 3.5e while I worked in Africa, stopped for a while for lack of opportunity, and then started playing and running Pathfinder about 6 years ago. My hobbies outside of RPGs include watching movies, playing video games, including Destiny, and trying to get my son to eat his dinner. Also running, writing, and sculpting.

5. How often can I post? Usually twice a day. More on days that I work nights.

6. May you bot my character? Sure.

7. Will I let you know about absences? Of course! I don't like it when players disappear without warning, I wouldn't do it to others (intentionally).

Silver Crusade

This is far from my first PFS or PbP game, but it'll be the first game from the upcoming gameday that I've applied or signed up for.

Answers to The Questions:

1. wakedown

2. Nope

3. This character just finished Stolen Heir, so he has a little Galt-based theme going at the moment. However, I'm particularly interested in breaking out of some of the online playing groups I typically play in and seeing a new GM flex her muscles alongside potentially some new player faces.

4. I'm a 4-star PFS GM, probably could grab that 5th star if I'd just get 5 more specials checked off. Big fan of online play as I think folks make a little more effort into the roleplaying side of the game. In terms of tabletop RPGs, really just PF/D&D and card games here and there.

5. I typically post in most games twice a day (morning/night), but certainly can post more if the pace of the game is running fast.

6. Absolutely have no issues with botting, I do it when I GM if a player doesn't check in for 24hrs and I need to advance the round.

7. Always.

1. dronedog

2. Not not totally new. I have my first PFS PbP going now and I've already signed up for a Solstice Scar table.

3. The scenario sounds fun and Galt is interesting. I'm also excited about the prospect of of actually advancing a character in PFS play.

4. I've played D&D since the Basic Box, and lots of other rpgs along the way. I presently teach English in Korea.

5. Not a problem at all.

6. Bot away!

7. Yes.

The Answers

1. Player Name: Iron Killer

2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both? No, I've been playing off and on for about 3 years now, all of which has been pbp, and before that I played D&D table top with friends for too many years to count.

3. What excites you most about playing in this game? The excitement of playing a scenario I haven't played before and the thrill of not knowing what will come next.

4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies? As I stated earlier I used to play D&D, but most of my free time is used up with caring for my 5 children.

5. Are you able to post at least once a day? I normally post about once or twice a day, but I'm checking for updates at least six or seven.

6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation? I have no problem if you need to bot for me to keep the game rolling.

7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you? With all of my kids vacations and conventions are basically out of the question for me, but if I will need to take an absence from the game I will let you know as early as I can.

Silver Crusade

1. Player Name: Marty

2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both? Been playing both for just over a year now.

3. What excites you most about playing in this game? The same thing as with every pathfinder game: the exciting stories and fun interactions with a diverse group of characters.

4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies? I played a few 3.5 AD&D games when I was a wee lad, but hadn't played for way too long until I found out about PbP. I'm addicted to table top games in general and regularly play games like Trambahn and Jaipur with my family. I also like to ride my bicycle when the weather cheers up a bit :)

5. Are you able to post at least once a day? I usually post at least once every day, and occasionally twice if the pace dictates it.

6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation? No problem with that whatsoever. I even have a 'Bot Me' spoiler on the profile page of all my characters, just in case I have an unexpected outage.

7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you? I don't foresee that I will have any absences, but I promise to tell you way ahead of time if I do.

Peeking in to say 'thank you' to everyone for your interest and for being willing to humor me and answer my questions. I'm aware it might seem odd to have these questions for something that will be determined by lotto but there is a method to the madness! The first point is that it's a good, basic marker to see how well everyone is able to follow directions. The second is that it lets me learn a little more about the people that I'll be playing with, whether in this game or another, whether as a GM or a player. Though there's some overlap, I've noticed that the 'PFS PbP crowd' and the 'Other PbP crowd' are largely made up of two different sets of posters - and a lot of the folks who do PFS here on the forums I haven't had the pleasure of 'meeting' yet :)

And so people aren't waiting on pins and needles forever, I will be taking interest posts until Monday, July 3rd which is when I'll run the lotto - this should hopefully allow people plenty of time to post their interest even though we're coming up on a holiday weekend here in the US.

*edit* @Blake's Tiger - So noted!

Grand Lodge

1. Player Name:

Geraint Elberion

2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both?

Nope.

3. What excites you most about playing in this game?

It's a tie: I've never played in Galt and it's a really interesting part of Golarion; This character should be fun to play in an ambassadorial role, he'll try really hard...

4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies?

I'm a teacher and a parent of young children. I've put all of my hobbies to one side apart from pbp pathfinder.

5. Are you able to post at least once a day?

At least once a day, usually more often.

6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation?

Yes, definitely.

7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you?

Of course.

Seldiir adjusts his new military coat, checking the insignia and worrying again about the give in the arms a little tight across the shoulders, too many pies? as he peers up at Skyreach and waits to enter the Grand Lodge. What did the Seneschal call it, 'Pathfinder Attache of the Sable Company', what a mouthful!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Hey LL, great to see you stepping around to the other side of the table :)

I've been hovering around the fringes of PFS for ages and never really found the time to get my head around it or actually commit.

1. Player Name: Jamie T

2. Are you new to PBP, Organized Play, or both? I'm a very experienced PBP'er. Quite a few long running games as player and GM.

3. What excites you most about playing in this game? Seeng LL stretch her GM muscles! And actually getting some expert guidance about PFS and scratching the surface of that confusing world.

4. Tell me a little about yourself! What other games have you played? What are your hobbies? Been playing D&d for about 25 years since I was a kid (I'm 34 now). I've got a couple of very long-running games on these boards and been fortunate enough to play in several more. I am growing a pretty impressive boardgame collection and spend a good deal of time roping people into that, or at the gym or with my dog (although he's recovering from pretty major surgery at the moment - poor guy)

5. Are you able to post at least once a day? Without fail. I post in all my games several times a day.

6. In order to keep the game moving along, sometimes I will bot players if a certain amount of time has passed since their last post. Do you give permission for me or the party to 'bot' your character as needed in combat or another situation? Definitely. The only thing slower in PBP than combat is when a group is presented with a door and have no SOP for such a thing.

7. Do you promise to tell me about upcoming vacations, busy times at work, conventions or other absences so we can bot you? Sure

Okay! As it is now Monday morning here it's time for me to get this show on the road and fill out the last three spots for the game. Here we go!

Spoiled For Neatness:

1=SkipperD
2=Blake's Tiger
3=wakedown
4=Iron Killer
5=ShieldBug
6=Geraint Elberion
7=JamZilla

*Maanyatha's player was already signed up for Blake's Tiger's table of this game so that is why he isn't seen on this list.

3d7 ⇒ (6, 4, 5) = 15

Geraint Elberion, Iron Killer, and ShieldBug - congrats! You are my three remaining players. dronedog - congrats! You were the first 'new player' to express interest in the game and so the new player reserved spot is yours. Feel free to go ahead and check in to Gameplay & Discussion now if you wish. To everyone else: I'm so sorry that I didn't have enough room to take everyone this time around! You will be the first ones I reach out to should I need alternate players for this game.

It may take some time but I do plan to run other games in the future as well and I will give anyone that didn't get into this game a little extra consideration the next time I run a recruitment or lottery. Thank you again for your interest everyone and I wish you all happy gaming! :)

I'm glad to be chosen and happy to participate! However I have since made it into more than one PFS game on the boards sooooo..... I'd be willing to relinquish the new player slot since I don't need the help to get into my first game.

That's very generous of you, dronedog! If you're certain, then I'll offer the spot to JamZilla, who might not be new to PbP but is certainly new to Organized Play :)

Yeah I've already got a couple of games going so I don't feel it's right to claim a slot on that basis. Enjoy JamZilla!

Thanks dronedog, appreciate it
