"Well... at least he'll be OK now." He moves forward and shakes Xarol's hand, "I got to say, that was an excellent finish. I believe you have just saved us the trouble of seeing whether a demon would eventually pop out or not."

M

You just had to say it. Queue demon.

The portal reopens - bigger this time - and spews out a Balor! Don't worry, I wouldn't do that to you (at least not at your current level).

Fumbles is still pretty badly hurt but will live to (mis)cast another day. Grateful at your excellent job of containing the magical mishap, the mages pay you in full - 800gp apiece.

Several months later, you receive an unexpected package from Fumbles. He's come to realize that conjuration is not his forte, and he's shifted his focus to Potion-brewing. In recognition for saving his life, he's sent you his first-ever batch!

Divvy up as you see fit. Sorry for the lack of weapons/armor/etc, the dice-roller wasn't being friendly today. Also, you gain a level. Encounter over. :-)

Potion - bear's endurance
Potion - cat's grace
Potion - enlarge person
Potion - reduce person
Potion - remove paralysis
Scroll - protection from law CL 1
Scroll - delusional pride CL 1

"Cheers! May we have more adventures to come. Unless someone wants to negotiate, I'd like to take the scrolls only. My spellbook has been waiting for more contents."

"Hey being a nimble man as myself I would like the potion of cats grace or since I almost died I am also interested in the bears endurance."

Male Half-Elf || Evoker 3 [HP 23/23 | Spells: 1(5/5), 2(3/3) | AC 11 , 10T, 11F | 3F 2R 3W | Init +1 | Percept +2 LLV]

"Well, during my research into new spells (level-up) I have learned of a spell to transform regular equipment to masterwork quality. I offer this once to whomever wants to take up my offer. The first one will be free, as soon as I have prepared it by tomorrow. After that, I'll accept more for only 150gp each."

GM, let me know if this is OK.

What you choose to do with your spells is your business. As long as you don't exploit rules loopholes to break the game, you're fine in my book. :-)

"Masterwork quality eh... Sure I'll take that offer I got two Short Swords. So 150gp right..."Brimle tosses Yvanesh a small bag of gold. Holding out his swords he says"Well show me your stuff wizard, make my swords Masterwork quality."

Male Half-Elf || Evoker 3 [HP 23/23 | Spells: 1(5/5), 2(3/3) | AC 11 , 10T, 11F | 3F 2R 3W | Init +1 | Percept +2 LLV]

"Come by and visit me tomorrow. Around noon mind you, it should be done by then." and Yvanesh hands him a scrip of paper containing the location of the inn he's staying in the city.

Time to repay a favor, I would've have gone down to those summoned creatures without the melee... until I become more powerful anyway.

After the encounter, Yvanesh brings back with him the two short swords. Resting for 8hrs, he closes the doors to his room, prepares the spells needed and chants for a total of 2hrs, all the while tossing reagents into the weapon which transforms into a lean and more balanced form of a short sword, one gleaming in the light with a silvery hue while the other is black.

M

As fun as that was I wouldn't trust a drop ah any o' those concoctions. I forgo any of the potions.

Once the danger has passed, Aeron slips the bow string from his weapon and approaches the rest of the group. "Well done, Xarol. That was quick thinking."

He helps Fumbles to his feet and gives the apprentice a long look. "You may want to look into a new life path, sir. Good luck to you."

When the package arrives he smiles at the mage's choice in changing his path in life. He examines the potions dubiously, half expecting them to explode... "Dare we trust those potions?" He chuckles as he looks over the different concoctions. "I would also be interested in the cat's grace, but Brimle I believe you aided the group more than I in this fight. I will then ask for the Enlarge Person potion, it may aid me in those moments when I must put down my trusted bow."

The archer approaches Yvanesh with his bow in hand. "I would be interested in taking you up on your offer with transforming my bow, wizard." He hands Yvanesh a large sack of 150gp.

"Good doing business with all of you. I agree to giving Yvanesh the scrolls, and I shall take the remaining potions(unless someone else claims them), since I can asses them beforehand, in case Fumbles.... fumbled in making them. Also, if any of you have alchemical needs look me up. I always offer a 25% discount for fellow adventurers."

Sounds good, so Yvanesh is taking the scrolls. Brimle will take the Cat and Bear potions, I'll take Enlarge, and Xarol will take Reduce and Remove. Correct?

Male Tiefling Alchemist 2 HP 20/20, AC 18(20), Init: +5, Saves: F+4, R +5, W +0

sound fair to me

"Of course Aeron. It has been a pleasure working with you after all. Perhaps I shall see your work with this bow on another adventure."

So instead of working on the short swords only on the following day, Yvanesh uses the remainder of his spell slots to transform the bow as well

As the bow is handed back to Aeron on the following day, he notices that there are now wind-shaped engraving along it's wooden shaft, filled with silvery metal that helps strengthen its recoil when the string is pulled back.
