Minniwick corners the market on Bookie as Broccan plays along not making attacks on Todd's obvious openings in his defenses...
....current wager up to 100 gold if MW is ok with that, if not list what amount you are willing to wager....
Broccan
Todd takes another swing at Broccan
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

A terrible swing for a fist, but right on for a rapier strike...
Broccan Dunchad |
Broccan drops his defensive stance, and throws two full-on punches.

Todd bobs and the first punch misses, but Broccan has predicted his weave and connects with a solid blow dropping the youth to the floor.
Todd rolls on the floor and then lies still,
A cheer erupts from the crowd and Minniwick begins collecting coin on some debts.
The rivalry the stormblades had before has turned very bitter, though you now have earned some respect....
Broccan Dunchad |
Broccan raises his fist in victory.
"When' ee wakes'up tell'em'ee fough' twell."
He calls for a towel and bucket and steps outside, dousing himself, then drying before putting his mithril shirt and tunic back on.
He re-enters the tavern, returns the bucket and towel, pulls his dagger from the bartop and sheathes it.
He leaves a gold coin with the barkeep.
"Ere'sa few rounds fer th' lad n' is crew."
He turns to his companions.
"So...what're we doin'now?"
Erine Wintyle |
Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Hey, lucky!
Erine stares at the unconscious stormblade. Her eyes widen. "Um, Broccan, we need to talk. Sanstree's r-r-right. There's..." Her form flashes into that of an old halfling man. She actually rather resembles Minniwick, save with sideburns instead of a beard. "You, um, may have a p-problem."
Broccan Dunchad |
Broccan looks at Erine and Sanstree, and gives them a small smile.
"So, I've earn'dis wrath, isit? Good. Then'eel be to busy try'n t' kill me t' be bother'n Mast'r Minn'wick's shop. An'way, 'ee may b' lucky't kill'n, but I'm lucky't not dyin'"

The old halfling stares at Broccan. "That...doesn't make a-any sense!"
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Solemnly, "Sure 't did. Jus' listen t' 'im like when ye listen t' me."
Did Edrukk notice any particular reaction from the fistfight's loser's buddies?

Erine frowns. "It just doesn't. A-assassins aren't people you want to g-get in the way of."
Minniwick Zookwinkle |
Pass Broccan a pouch

The rest of the evening is fairly un-eventful, the stormblades eventually leave the tavern....Todd in tow.
Shopping for fancy dudes etc, starts first thing in the morning, the festival is in high gear with carts and vendors moving outside of their normal shops and over-spilling into the streets.
Countdown to action....speak soon or hold your peace
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Edrukk keeps an eye out while limiting himself to a single ale that he sips. Wouldn't do to be in no shape for glorious battle when it comes!
He's picked up on Erine's apprehension and stays near her and the fighter.
Minniwick Zookwinkle |
Sense Motive 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Picking up on the now somber mood Minniwick will calm down a bit Let us continue on our noble quest....find Borccan a nice set of clothes!
KenderKin |
The next day near noon.....
A shout from the middle of the busy fair spreads into an expanding ripple of cries and screams, accompanied by loud crashes that sound like carts and booths being overturned. These ripples of sound immediately transform into a wave of people, as bystanders try to escape whatever is wreaking havoc behind them.
Some type of disturbance has occurred 40 feet away, you try hard to see it, but a throng of a crowd rushes away from the trouble. Getting there will take either strength, grace, or intimidation (or some combination of those) a strength check, escape artist check, or intimidate check to get through each 10 feet of the crowd……DC 17
Hint you need 4 successes
Canvy Mandrain |
Out of an darkened side alley comes Canvy, his eyes blackened and dark, rings of bad sleep, his cloths disheveled and dirty, but a smile cuts across his unshaven face. Opening his mouth, his breathe escapes smelling of cheap liquor, he staggers into the square, his eyes blink. From above, a window opens and cold dirty water is thrown down, for Canvy this just brings him round some more and adds to the stench of sweat and booze. He shakes his head, he feels somewhat refreshed, though the taste of the water as it drips from his nose is, well unpleasant.
He speaks to himself, "Best find me buddies!" as he becomes aware of the commotion, he grins, "What luck, if there's trouble Broccan and Edrukk are not far behind." He bears his tusks and breaths over the crowd, who part not wanting to get in the way of such a vicious looking down and out.

Erine Wintyle |
Erine draws out her Quickening rod and takes a deep breath. She looks up at the panicked crowd, and her form shifts back into her native one as she begins shouting curses in Infernal. The small gnome is a little unnerving, but she still finds herself unable to gain any distance.
Intimidates:
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
She gives up, and just tries to make her way with Goat to one of the buildings.
Those were some seriously crappy rolls. Which is a shame, because Intimidate is the only Charisma skill Erine's supposed to be half good at. I guess it fits, though. Crowds aren't really her scene, and controlling them isn't really her brand of Intimidate.
Minniwick Zookwinkle |
Trying to keep up with Canvy, Minniwick gets lost in the crowd.
"Hey show some respect for an old Gnome. Let me through!

14 rounds for Minniwick!
Edrukk Thorvirgun |
Edrukk will try to bull his way through the crowd. None of the options is particularly attractive for him. He will aid Erine and Minniwick, if possible. since I believe the three of them are walking together.
