The woman, Stranger #1, also a caster, recognizes what's going on (Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5) though she is unable to identify the exact spell. Alarmed, she casts Cause Fear at Obed (Obed Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6, Duration: 1d4 ⇒ 3).

Sorry, Obed. You are now frightened and must run away for 3 rounds.

Stranger #3 moves up and attacks Tarch with a hooked axe (Axe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24, Confirm?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13, Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9) for 9 HP of damage.

You're able to loot them at will. Obed comes back.

If you question them, you discover that they arrived at the temple not long before you. They fled in terror upon encountering some things (they could not identify) within.

They, they are tiny monstrosities! They have the body of a well-muscled man, a crown of frilled horns, and eyes that glow like rubies. Those... eyes...

Columns line the walls of this small room, each decorated with a high-relief carving of a monkey in a different pose. Some of the monkey sculptures sit serenely in meditation or reach out with their hands as if to deliver blessings to the viewer, while others adopt more naturalistic poses. The floor is littered with decaying plant matter and mud, and the stench of rotting muck pervades the area. An open archway leads south out into the jungle, while a second leads north deeper into the temple.

A mosaic of a monkey-faced figure decorates the floor of this room, though the tiles that would form its eyes are missing. The north end of the room is filled with rubble blocking an arched passageway. To the west, vines and foliage intrude into the temple through an open-air balcony, while a similar balcony to the east remains relatively clear of plant life.

There is room for Tiny creatures to climb over the rubble clogging the archway to the north.
