Just delaying. His melee weapon is his claws.
Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadians in the party. :)
I don't know the system. I thought Thanksgiving was a US thing too? Or is it on a different day for different places?
Canadian Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October; US Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November.
LoreKeeper! You posted in Serpent's Skull. Come over here and delay uselessly with Tippi!
Silly Tippi. There's plenty to do back here. ;)
I was in a game a while back where the party was in a dungeon and ran into a stuck door. Three of the PCs were up front trying to break down the door, while my witch and the rogue, both of whom had the Charming trait, just stood in back on the staircase and flirted with each other while everyone else was making Str checks. That was fun. :)
The other PCs were like, "You guys going to come help?" and we were like, "No, you guys got it. We believe in you. Just keep trying."
Felos's claw damage should be d4s, not d8s, I believe. But between him and Festa, I expect the last undead is down anyway.

bahaha - I'm sorry, I just wrote that for my own benefit hahaha

Sorry, I got him confused with my monk, who is also in the midst of a hand to hand bout...against the party wizard, no less (although I suspect a doppelgänger).
Hey folks!
Sorry for the interminable delay. I should have things back on course soon. I'll have new posts up for both games either tomorrow or Saturday and then things will return to normal on Monday (it's doubtful I'll get anything posted on Sunday).
Felos wrote: "Guys? We have crabs!" Festa blames Jacinth for that. That paladin's philandering ways were going to have repercussions, that was for sure.
Anyone else have a bad feeling about leaving Shefton all alone out there in the hallway? Like he's going to panic and run deeper into the dungeon and we'll find him later all impaled by a spear-trap like that guy in the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark?
Yeah, but I don't feel bad about it.

He made his bed...now he can die in it.
Hopefully nothing comes after him out there. Felos would be very annoyed if he had to rush off and rescue him.
You see that? Jacinth, Festa and Tippi all miss - but all roll (near) max damage. It's like the dice are taunting us. I bet Felos would've also rolled high damage.
Yeah, when we hit, that's when the ones come out. :P
Question: If Xanthippe moved to Z 42, would she be flanking with Felos, or would the pillar prevent her from threatening #5? Is it cover (no threatening, no AoOs) or partial cover?
That would be cover there.
Xanthippe wrote: ... forgo the flank, which makes the attack roll a 15. Sorry; that makes no sense. Obviously, without the flanking bonus, the result would be an accumulated 20. I was getting ready to go to bed last night and ran across the tab with the map in it and realized I hadn't posted yet. I think maybe I was thinking not getting the flank removed all the attack bonuses, not just the +2? I'm not sure; I was obviously too tired to post. :P

As it happens to get a 15, you would have to remove all the bonuses and throw in an extra -2 penalty. Maybe you were just looking at the raw roll of 17 and removing the flanking bonus from that? :)
At any rate, she gets the flank, so it's all moot. :)

It's not like you couldn't have figured out how to subtract two on your own, if I hadn't tried to be helpful. :P
Those GM dice... so hot right now.
We can be thankful we're not fighting scythe wielding critters.
I was in a dungeon module on these boards, and one of the other players suggested the "always turn left" thing as a way to keep track of where we'd been and make sure we didn't miss anything. (Also, it speeds up the inevitable 'which way next?' discussion in every room.) It ended up taking us almost straight to the BBEG and the goal of the module; we skipped easily 75% of the dungeon. I don't think we even had to rest once; we "won" the adventure in a single in-game day. :D
hahaha - something similar happened in a game where my ex led the way; left/right/downstairs/random through 8 steps. Turns out those were the exact 8 steps to get to the boss fight the quickest.
That one didn't turn out easy though, nearly party wipe.
Yeah, it was helpful that it was a module -- no level gain expected over the course of the dungeon before meeting the BBEG. You try that in an AP, and you end with a TPK.
Festa, you're up. I know you're around, LoreKeeper: You posted 5 hours ago in Serpent's Skull. :P
The delay in posting is due to a quirk in the Paizo thread feeds: at the 50 post boundary each page they tend to skip/forget about stuff for a while. Silly threads. That is my story, I'm sticking to it.
Oh, I forgot: It's Superstar season when everyone stops checking their threads and starts nurturing their delusions of grandeur. That must be where LoreKeeper is. :P
Joana wrote: Oh, I forgot: It's Superstar season when everyone stops checking their threads and starts nurturing their delusions of grandeur. That must be where LoreKeeper is. :P And not surprisingly, Festa wins the initiative and Tippi is last again. :)
Aaaaand I'm back from South-West Africa and in South Africa. Happy New Year everyone! :D
Oh, I forgot about bless. Accumulated 19. :)

Stupid random number generator.
LoreKeeper said Festa "steps into flanking" (which I assume is AE 66), but he didn't include the +2 flanking bonus.
Is he in AD or AE?

I totally missed that he said that, and you're right, he didn't include the +2, which would have boosted his result to a hit. However, since he did say that he was stepping into flanking, I'll give it to him and move him to AE 66.
I was going to take the flank if he didn't, but his damage is better than Tippi's so I'm happy to let him have it. :)
I revise to "adequate random number generator"
Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard. Give a coordinate next time. ;P
Similar post as in the Serpent's Skull thread. What's the deal, Navior? If we're settling in to a rate of one post per week for the long term, we're never going to get anywhere. These campaigns seem to be a lower priority than your blog by several degrees of magnitude.
Tippi wants masterwork studded leather ... but I don't know if she can stomach putting it on after peeling it off the bloated corpse of a diseased thief. :P
Yeah, the description of the scene doesn't make it easy and it is some good stuff too. Just cleaning it doesn't seem like it would be enough.
There's plenty of water right behind us to clean it up.
Yeah....
Between the undead Urgathoan and the graphic description of the corpse, I'm thinking nuking it from orbit is the only way to be sure. :P
Someone give me a plausible reason to try to pick the locks. At the moment, all the treasure in the world doesn't matter if we can't find a way out. Is there any rationalization for believing opening the sea chests might get us out of the tunnels?
AC 12 (12 touch, 10 FF); CMD 11; Init +2; Perc +0, Sense Motive +2; Scent; F/R/W: +1/+2/+2; Max HP: 7; Current HP 3;
There could be a map inside, one of them could actually be a secret tunnel we could crawl through, there might be a secret passage earlier that we missed that would lead us out, so we might as well open the chests and take the treasure with us before going back to look.
The best reason is that opening these chests is something that bloated corpse didn't try, so trying anything and everything he didn't try seems like the best plan of all.
Yeah, Felos has the right idea. There could be a map inside that shows a secret door you missed, or some other item that will help you escape.
We already beyond that, but the secret passage might be *inside* one of the chests.
Tippi wrote: Elemental gem specifies it works like summon monster/nature's ally, which means that, unless you have a way to communicate with the elemental and tell it to do something else, all it will do is attack your enemies. There's no telepathic control granted. Also, Earth Glide specifically states that the elemental leaves the earth/rock undisturbed when it burrows, so it can't dig a tunnel for anyone else to use. This had to be an oversight by the writers of the module.
