Alexandra you are pretty sure they have cast produce flame on you, the eternal no heat flame. Though after a few moments the spell stops. You were able to prestige your hair back to its normal color.
What do you do with the coin?
Alexandra von Ravenstein |
Well I hold mine up to catch sunlight and, having seen Fizzy prestidigitate his coin I'll cast Light on mine so it shines like a torch.
Rekka the Rat |
Relieved, the Ratkin nods at the dwarf she rides behind, "Looks like," And she promptly scrambles off of the horse as fast as she can.
Rekka certainly doesn't sound like a rat. She does have an odd little chitter in her common every now and then though. "I'm coming from Port Ice - I hear there are adventurers out ... here ..."
The rat trails off. Shiny. Coins. Distracted. There are some instincts bred into the bone, and she has a brief, wild urge to steal them both and hide them in her nest.
It passes.
"My name is Rekka - I came to see if you needed a healer for your expedition into the Greenbelt."
She hopes that sounds intelligent enough, ducking her head to keep her eyes away from the flashing coins and lights so she doesn't have another concentration lapse.
Rekka the Rat |
"I ..." Rekka pauses to chitter, having no idea what that means, "I guess so?" She decides it doesn't sound like too terrible a job.
Alexandra von Ravenstein |
"Oh, a priest... rat. How quaint. Well, it'll be a pleasure to have you along regardless, I'm sure you'll be an excellent addition. " Alexandra looks down with a look of confusion before shaking her head and smiling once more, the same quasi-real smile all in the party have seen before. To Rekka, it looks as though her dimples are attempting to escape her face and force their way off, but it soon passes.
for new party members, Alexandra is a pale blonde girl in ornate red noble clothing (now slightly muddy and slightly torn) with a beautiful emerald necklace and even more beautiful blue eyes. She appears to smile off into space most of the time, and a crossbow is tied to her back crudely. She appears quite out of place out in the wilderness as she has a constant air screaming out, "Princess me!" going about her.
Fizzwiddle Glockenfleffor XXII |
I accept your application Madame Ratty Rat! I dub thee Fuzzhealer of the Fizz! I shall have to catch you up on your lessons tonight!
Fizzy is a short, very fat gnome with ridiculously tall hair, currently red, with an gorgeous and elaborate scarf around his neck. As he speaks he often sticks out his belly, which he is very proud of.
Rekka the Rat |
The rat appears generally confused. Well, its hard to tell because she's mostly lost in her hood and cloak which hides all but the shiny black of her eyes and the end of her whiskery nose.
"Oh ... good ..." She squeaks.
Then the small rat-creature looks up to the dwarf on the horse, "Thanks for the ride, sir." She figures 'Sir' is the right title for a knight.
Ratty-rat is mostly hidden in a old green cloak. Still, a long rodent nose peeks out, whiskers quivering on the end. Underneath the hood, they can see the glitter of glossy black eyes, and the hood is pushed up by the full rat-ears around her head. Behind her trails a long pink tail, and her feet appear to be bare, long rat paws with little scrabbly nails.

Hmm.. as for introducing my own character, I'm going to wait till you guys move on a bit from this encounter. I have an interesting idea on how to introduce myself.
If possible, after they leave this encounter, can we have them encounter a small campsite where my Dwarf is located, currently having himself a meal of coffee and waffles? (Doesn't matter what time of the day, theres always a time for coffee and waffles) Its very likely they could notice the campfire from a few miles, so finding the campsite wouldn't be much of an issue. Heck, go ahead and hit me being attacked by bandits or worse if you want. Could be a combination introduction/random encounter! :P Just throwing out a few ideas.
Alexandra von Ravenstein |
"Excellent, well no need to waste daylight gawking at... each.. other. Fizzwiddle, as you have taken in our new friend in I presume she can ride with you? We can hardly afford to be slowed down much, the bandits draw nearer by the minute." Alexandra gestures grandly, and ends up distracted by her own torch light gold piece before collecting herself and making a quick 'up' motion towards Fizz's horse before we'll carry on.
Rekka the Rat |
Ratty-rat looks less than pleased with the notion of riding on yet someone else's horse, but she doesn't protest, instead eying Vik from under her hood, nose twitching curiously about his head shakes.
BloodWolven |
As the world turns, Fizzy's coin is floating above your hand. Alexandra and Fizzy do you keep your coin or drop it?
The Dwarf grunts and he begins to slowly ride north.
Near the end of your ride you see a fire pit about 200 feet off, since it has gotten a little dark. Perception Checks...you are all sore from riding for the past two days, unless you are used to it (Fionn, Vik?, calvary).
*Edit, thank you Fizzy.

Lucky for you no bandits, though it is weird how we both think the same, before even reading your post I made my previous one about the campsite, 'your campsite'. LOL. You can tell that it is a gnome wielding a hammer. There are also more horses out there you can hear.

Close enough... and you can smell, is that baking? CHARGE!!!
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 Fionn’s Perception Check
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Alexandra’s Perception Check
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Vik’s Perception Check
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 Rekka’s Perception Check
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Bearn’s Perception Check
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Sly’s Perception Check
Rekka the Rat |
Rekka makes a squawking squeaking noise when Fizzy charges, and goes charging after him. She's not very fast though. Its more of a skitter.
BloodWolven |
Rekka who were you riding with?
Would you mind giving me some dimensions and put them in your crunch, height, weight, fur color, general description in clothes and visible, etc.
Rekka the Rat |
I figured she wasn't riding with anyone, as Fizzy seemed distracted, so she's running after them on foot. XD Badly. Fixing her crunch and her vital stats now.
Fionn Oighiríg |
More than welcome to ride with me. I figure since you fear horses, and I'm somewhat of a horse master you'd be comfortable with me.
Fionn also makes a perception at a 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Please! Master Fizz consider the wellbeing of the group! If its food you seek I'm sure I can spare a ration, or perhaps hunt something down!
I can't recall if I mentioned this earlier but I wanted one of those longbows, is that alright?
Bærn Steelskull |
Mmm... waffles.. can't wait for these to get done... Huh? What was that noise?
Baern hears a yell and looks over to see a horse charging at him. He yells back in Dwarven, "Hva? En hest? For stål skull clan! Ingen kostnader meg og tar mine vafler!" While yelling this, Baern stands up and puts his helmet on in one swift motion - and grips his red-hot waffle iron like a hammer and charges the horse, head down so that his helmet will impact the horse.

Rekka the Rat |
"Waaaaait!" Rekka squawks at the retreating gnome, and scrambles to hop up behind Fionn, who seems to know how to control his beast.
1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
She fails miserably, ends up tripping on her tail and scrabbling at poor Fionn's horse a bit with her little rat claws. Then goes tumbling end over end, flailing her paws at nothing trying to keep her balance.
In the process, her hood falls off and cloak goes askew. Rekka is a mottle dark brown color with long, relatively groomed brown fur, under that cloak. There are several gold earrings in her large membranous ears, and though her fingers are long for a rat's (more like a human) each is capped with a little scrabbley nail. She has a large scar across her snout, and there's a notch missing from her left ear.
Out of her cloak also spills a little bandit-face ferret, which streaks away from the flailing Ratkin so it doesn't get squashed.
BloodWolven |
Fionn you may have a longbow from the loot, thank you for asking. Rekka it looks like you have two people offering you a ride, also they are going at a brisk pace, so you would get tired very soon.
Fionn's horse has barding, you will not hurt it Rekka.
It seems Fizzy has dismounted, the horse seeing the hot iron, turns quickly and lets the gnome deal with it. Gnome and dwarf aciton. Roll Initiatives...
Rekka the Rat |
That's cool, I just like describing little rat scrabbly claws. Heehee. Not going for damage; in fact its funnier if they just go tk-tk-tk-tk on barding.
Rekka goes chasing after them even without a ride, anyway. Hopefully they can figure out the horse thing after they've settled down a bit. Maybe waffles with soothe everyone!
Bærn Steelskull |
Luckily, as he was charging, Baern was able to hear the fact that his opponent's horse has promptly discarded him at the sight of his hot waffle iron - and thus Baern was able to steel himself in time to stop his charge, coming to a sudden stop as his iron-clad boots dug deeply into the dirt. The dwarf's center of gravity allowed him to put the full force of his momentum into the dirt without him toppling over - Dwarven stability at its finest.
"Heh, mistet hesten din har du? Hvorfor er en .. gnome .. prøver å stjele min vafler? Er du en av dem banditter jeg holdt høring om? Snakke, eller føler Torag nåde!" Considering the fact that his.. opponent.. speaks Dwarven much as he, Baern decides to keep to his native tongue.
Bracing himself in the dirt, red-hot waffle iron at the ready, Baern waits for his opponent's move. Standing at a little over 4'4" due to his boots, Baern is a robust dwarf bursting with muscles - he's currently sporting a suit of scale mail, along with a large, reinforced helmet in the shape of a large skull. His long, well-kept and braided beard is the color of rich earth, and his light-brown skin looks like it has seen many hours near a fire - be it a forge or a stove.

Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
I'm currently wearing my armor, helmet, and the waffle-iron. My shield is not currently on me, and is sitting near the campfire. Not that I think we'll get into any real combat.. at least not against each other. XD
Rekka the Rat |
Rekka seems moderately surprised to be called lady, let alone talked to at all. The disheveled rat pauses to scoop up her ferret, which scampers up her arm and back into her cloak now that it appears safe to do so. Then it peers around her neck at Vik. Rekka leaves the hood down, since they seem indifferent to the ratt-ish aspects of her.
She wiggles her nose at Vik as they walk, seeming to appreciate the common spirit where it comes to horses.
"Of course," Chitter chitter, "I was hoping my services wouldn't be needed just yet." She peers anxiously in the direction Fizz and the dwarf in question are.
Rekka the Rat |
Rekka swings her tail up to drape over her arm so it doesn't drag behind her in the dirt and potentially pointy rocks and other hazards of the open plain.
"I was looking for your group ... I think. I'd been pursuing opportunities in Restov, but they weren't really to my satisfaction. I suppose the wilderness is a new step for me, but I'm hoping my abilities will be better used in service to the Swordlords." Rekka's spoken common, despite the chitters, is quite eloquent. Its a bit odd, coming from a rat's mouth, really. Especially when she does chitter.
Viklop "Vik" Kolavar |
Vik nod as Rekka talks.
"It was my mentor then who sent you to us. I am appreciated to the Swordlord Jamandi Aldori, and it is by her order that I am here.'
He looks sidelong at the girl before saying, "I am sorry about Fizz and his odd ways. I am sure he means no harm, but I was trying to warn you about his...umm..particular brand of humor. They all seem to be good people, if a little out of water at times, but mostly good!"
Rekka the Rat |
Rekka nods a bit, reaching up with her free hand to twirl her whiskers, which seems to be a thoughtful gesture,
"Its certainly a welcome change from the company I used to keep." She says, cheerfully enough.
Rekka the Rat |
Rekka reserves her thoughts on bandits, but she smiles (or seems to. Its hard to tell without knowing ratkin faces) and nods enthusiastically,
"I hope to gain much more knowledge!"
Alexandra von Ravenstein |
"Fizzy took off without recourse, again? Fine, let us ride to keep up." Alexandra will gesture at Captain Stonefire to lead the column of heroes to the camp where we find the two bickering in Dwarven.
Alexandra will dismount, smile and begin in Dwarven, obviously not her native tongue but she speaks it well enough.
She then smiles and continues, "I would just like to know for future conversations how well you can adapt."

Initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Fizzy races right up to the dwarf and makes some quick movements with his hands
Swap vs CMD 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Suddenly the dwarf holds the hook hammer and Fizzy holds the waffle iron. note this is technically not quite how it works. Technically I would swipe something from your person, but for flavor perhaps we can let it slide
Bærn Steelskull |
Let it slide? Naaah ;) Thats my waffle iron you just took! No one takes mah waffle iron! And technically its a disarm maneuver, rather than a swipe maneuver. :X
Fizzwiddle Glockenfleffor XXII |
it is a swap. A Prankster special ability. Technically it is a Steal maneuver. Here is the Link But as I said Steal cannot be used on something in your hand.
Seemed like harmless fun to me, but I see where you come from. I will retcon my action, but not the dialogue
Instead Fizzy speaks as he walks straight to the fire, and buries his head in the batter bowl and starts to lick it.
mmm...yum...slurp
Bærn Steelskull |
"Oye - Stop that!", Baern stumbles upon his words, not expecting the insane gnome to go after his precious batter. He looks over at the female human accompanying the gnome who spoke to him and says, "Human! Yes, I speak the Common Tongue - why do you not have this gnome on a leash? Or at least fitted with a muzzle?" He stops a moment and looks back at the gnome, and then back to Alex. "HE'S EATING MY WAFFLE BATTER!"
