Krafnik Thorgrappin |
Krafnik shouts out a prayer to Kalinahat may the watcher in the night keep thee at bay!
With that he does a coup de grace upon the evil demon
coup de grace: 4d6 + 14 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 6) + 14 = 34
Krazok Vell Firesource |
Krazok quickly rushes over to Selena as he sees the demon fully snuffing out after he spits at it. He sighs as he sees her healthy but singed. He helps her to her feet. Next he pats Sly's head and lets him enter into his pouch if he wants or leaves him to search.
Walking over to the archway the demon was barring before he finds what he has been looking for. Pulling out his scepter and putting it next to a green and red glowing chest the lock opens. Pushing back the top he pulls out what looks like a heart made of red crystals and the same kind of green glow that the scepter burns. He puts it in another of his pouches before returning to the group with Selena.
"Good job Krafnik, I am sorry I could not be more help in the fight. Aurora we need to get you trained in weapons pronto. I have what I need, shall we depart?" He happily says.
Aurora Blackrose |
Aurora looks to Krazok as she replies
"That sounds good, as I'm not used to weapons of with this much weight.
And there are still rooms to explore here....
Though that thing was tough and if we were to fight another thing of it's strength it would be trouble. It might be best to refresh ourselves and prepare some before we come back here."
Krazok Vell Firesource |
Krazok nods and agrees, "Yes, let us head out." He checks to make sure he has all his items and walks out of the hall, up the stairs and then to the entrance.
He looks back and states, "We have the dead plague granter in that room and the secret door up. Was there any other place? It seems only one place left to explore."
Selena the Elfen Feline |
Selena follows the group, casting orisons to mend her clothes and cleaning herself in the process. The crystals that suffused her hands are gone and the blue glow is gone as well.
Krafnik Thorgrappin |
Krafnik says we need to rest seriously now before we finish this tower, perhaps camp and then check the secret door? I have no more ability besides my bow to assist with.
GM Wolf |
With that said the group likely consents to head out and camp on the eerie island.
The eeriness of the island only gets worse as the more time you stay there. After setting up camp an hour passes before the tower seems to just crumble back to its original state, the lone top tower with no obvious entrance or exit.
Krazok Vell Firesource |
Krafnik gets up and sighs at the crumbling structure, then whispers to the group, "Well that is that, shall we get off this rock?"
Packing up the camp as fast as possible, once the group gets to where they thought the boats were anchored Krazok curses.
Gaelden the Lost |
From behind the group comes the sound of coughing. Turning around they see a lone figure stumble away from the crumbling tower. He is bald, dressed in the torn and charred remnants of a monk's robe, and has several cracked ioun stones imbedded in his exposed arms. Even through the obvious wounds that he bears, it is obvious that he is not some cloistered cleric. His body is lean, devoid of fat, and is well muscled. Upon seeing Krazok he pulls himself upright, falls into a well practiced stance, and defiantly shouts "I will die before I open any door for your master." Seeing how obviously outnumbered he is, he adds "I warn you, though I might fall here, I shall not die alone."
Krafnik Thorgrappin |
Krafnik holds his hands up palm out saying;
"we are not enemies but fighters against evil intent upon settling these lands. Come with us in peace."
Gaelden the Lost |
"You must think me a fool, then. How do you explain your demonic ally then?" He points at Krazok. Standing ten feet tall with a draconic visage and with a bloody large axe in his hand, he certainly looked intimidating. "And why are you here if not servants of the demon?"
Gaelden the Lost |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
"It would appear that I was too hasty in my condemnation. The owner of this tower was not the most gracious of hosts, and I assume my freedom is related to you successfully completing your mission to tame this part of the wild. You have my apologies. My name is Gaelden, and I am a paladin of Irori. I truly did not expect another one of the faithful." He hesitated a moment, before continuing. "I hate to ask, but by chance did you come across the remains of any who wear the same vestaments as myself? I was looking for my lost brethren when the demon and its minions took me."
Krazok Vell Firesource |
Don't forget about the scepter at his belt with the otherworldly green flame!
Krazok lets Krafnik and Aurora handle this as, his words would likely make the situation worse. Gaelden can sense that Krazok takes insult to him being called a demon but controls himself.
He growls before stating, "To the uninformed... more than you can believe... I would seem like a demon from the abyss or infernal burning lands, but I am not. I even have a tribe in the North. The 'demon' who was prisoner in the tower and 'playing host' has been vanquished. He may find a way back but with divine support we will send him back again. These lands are not tamed yet, though without the heart the tower lost what magic it had left. Good to see that not only evil was within the tower Gaelden and that you were able to escape. I am Krazok, leader of this little party."
He looks upon Gaelden's vestments while going through his memories. He then responds unsure of himself, "I do not believe I have seen such clothes before but the Stolenlands are vast."
Selena the Elfen Feline |
Selena cocks her head at the new arrival and continues mending her clothes.
The Sly |
A little green and yellow lizard pops its head out from one of Krazok's belt pouches and sticks its tongue out at you before returning to the pouch.
It then pops up again and emerges from the pouch. It scurries over to Gaelden and looks up at the man. It then points to the North and nods its head as if to say 'yes'.
Gaelden the Lost |
"Krazok, I have misjudged you completely. It is a pleasure to meet you. These clothes, which I see now that I will need to mend, are from my monastery in Brevoy. I am here because my monastery sent a delegation to these lands on a mission of conversion in the name of Irori, which never returned. I came to find to find their fate, and a pair of artifacts that they took with them which are blessed in Irori's eyes. If I may be so bold, it is obvious to me that your goal is a worthy one, and that traveling alone will likely cause me to become just another vanished monk. Might I travel with you for some time? I am trained in the art of combat and healing, so I assure you that I will be able to pull my own weight."
Bankou Inari |
Inari is taking over the role of "the alchemist." Please adapt accordingly.
"You folks are alright, you know that?" the Alchemist said. "You don't see a lot of that around these lands."
"I told you they were alright, Gaelden." he grinned.
GM Wolf |
The island is not very big, but large enough that you may need to look around to see if your boat is still near. Especially if you covered it with foliage before departing from it.
Moving through the grass and nettles you all must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or become sickened from the nettles for 2d4 hours.
Krazok Vell Firesource |
"Gaelden you may join us, especially if you have a boat for us to get off this forsaken rock." Krazok says with some mirth.
"Albinius you can vouch for him then?" He questions the alchemist as he begins to look around the island for a boat.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Selena the Elfen Feline |
Selena slinks off in the other direction the group begins to search.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Zilybar Gnaz |
A most impressive selection you have here.
He starts to look over the scrolls with a gentle touch
I am interested in these. The Ventriloquism, Cause Fear, Reduce Person, Unseen Servant, Mirror Image, Levitate, and the umm hmm...Non detection scroll..please.
Krazok Vell Firesource |
"No worries, I can swim. It is probably better that way. I should trek to the North and check in on my tribe it has been nearly a month. You go on ahead up to Oleg's and see who you can scrounge up to help with the coming exploration. I will send word one way or another." He states looking a bit worried.
Wow, I just recognized I switched the direction of the map in my head. Krazok will be going South.
Selena the Elfen Feline |
Selena pops up from the brush and smiles at the group. She then offers in a good mood, "Why don't you take Aurora with you and I will make sure the others gets to Oleg's. She will need to start her training and will likely fit in better with your folk. Come on chaps we got folks to wrangle up."

Lady Alexandra looks at the paper that she had you look at and calculate the costs and then asks, "Will that be fine? Chances of finding and creating higher level scrolls make them a bit steeper in prices. How will you be paying?"
Alexand |
Alexand has been sitting for a few days surveying the opportunities for his next adventure. Helping here and there, maybe even getting a discount on foodstuffs, being very vagabondish.
Alexand was sitting around the moment Lady Ionnia arrived. When Svetlanna began issuing orders he hopped right up to help. The elf's lithe frame did't allow for any major heavy lifting, but he did what he could. When heavy lifting was all that remained Alexand took the opportunity to have a word with the Lady.
"My Lady Orlovsky, " Alexand began with a bow, "it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I was wondering where you might be headed? South and west was all that you mentioned."
Bankou Inari |
At the sight of Aurora's tail the Alchemist twitched and stared for a moment. Then shook it off with a deep breath and tried to pretend nothing had happened.
"Um, ah sure. Wait, aren't we all going to Oleg's?"
Woah, nobody said anything about her. Damn that's distracting. Keep it together, Inari.
Lady Ionnia Orlovsky |
With a board smile and eyes that danced she looked over the elf." Greetings Master Elf," She said holding out her hand. A pesky habit but one she learned while studying in Oppara.
"As for my wandering it is true to what I said I am looking south and west of here. I want to spread Shelyns' Divine message along with bringing peace and prosperity to the land. All of which brings the beauty of Shelyn to this section of the world for even the frontier needs a bit of love, beauty and culture." she paused giggled and pulled her hand away.
"Sorry I got a bit to preachy. Passion is hard to contain sometimes. What brings you Master Elf to the frontier, and please call me Ionnia." Ionnia finished up as she shifted her weight from one hip to the other. The woman seemed comfortable in her gear and her abilities.
Aurora Blackrose |
Aurora sees Inari's glance at her tail
"That glance is like most of the hunter's I've met before for the first time.
And they did spread that nickname, Amazon of the Forest."
"I'm hoping this training will make it much easier to use that Large great-sword, as I am not used to using weapons that big and heavy."
Zilybar Gnaz |
Zilybar looks at the women and with a slight smile
Would my thanks be payment enough? I suppose not...here each bag holds 500 gold coins of various mintage. Then there are these two Trade bars 50 gold coin in value. That should bring us to the tally...correct?
Zilybar pulls out a large bag from the side pouch of his backpack and then he pulls another large bag from another pouch on the other side. He then reaches inside the bag to remove two trade bars. Each is placed on the table with care.
Alexand |
Alexand breaks gaze with Ionnia for a moment and looks at the ground, "Surely my Lady Ionnia is not interested in the life of a mere orphan vagabond." He then looks back up, matching her gaze one more, "If that passion is even just a hint of your overall, I can honestly say that love and beauty has definitely arrived in this frontier. If I may be presumptuous once more my lady, I would request to join you to aid in what little ways I can so that my lowly life may gain purpose where it once did not."
GM Wolf |
Lady Ionnia Orlovsky |
"My dear Master Elf I am honored you would be concerned with lil' ol' me" She looked out over the south and gestured."But I have to say I am not as dainty as most Ladys'. I am a Brevoyan Lady, who studied the ways of Shelyn in Oppara. Her martial tutors blended beautiful dance moves into a dancing death, meant to be beautiful effective and to be used only to defend love, beauty and song!"
The lady moved sensuously as she described the training her steps similar to those of staff and spear fighters. She twirled and stopped with her hands extended in an overhead chop that would have landed right on his right shoulder. She giggled and spun back around before she bowed."That aside I greatly appreciate the help. I want to see the land secure so that I might bring my daughter here to raise."
Krazok Vell Firesource |
"You may come with me to my tribe of dragonkin or return to the outpost. It is in the wilds to the South, outside of the charter and I will not be exploring but quickly traveling to make a visit. I will be training Aurora as we travel. Make your decision." He says again trying to explain his plans. Then he explains a bit about swords to Aurora, "Aurora the large size of the sword will likely always be a problem for you but we need to get you proficient in the weapon itself. Hopefully find or can get a greatsword for your size once we get to my tribe."
Alexand |
Lady Ionnia Orlovsky |
" SO Master Elf, I seek a bit of food and drink, after that maybe a nap. First though what is my gracious and noble companions name? Tell me it is something more imaginative than Master Elf? I can do better but most of the more flowery descriptions of elves I learned from people whom do not share my openness of other cultures?" she said with exuberance. Ionnias' exuberance was beginning to slack as she did just travel awhile by wagon to get to Olegs'. She would need some sleep soon.
