Round 1, init 23
Simon charges the trio of evil jerks with a fearsome burble of challenge, drawing his morningstar as he goes. But he rushes past all three kobolds, willingly provoking attacks as he dives across the alter, pushing Hollin off it, and landing on the other side where he hopes to give Chrystosm a tactical advantage against one of the previously mentioned jerks.

With Nimeon's arrow (from the previous round) sticking out from his shoulder, Chrystosm has no trouble finding acolyte #2 with his axes of doom. Once, twice and the acolyte is no more, his blood spilling out onto the base of the Altar. Small stone mouths open up, lapping greedily.
Simon, having freed Hollin from the altar, reaches out and heals a rapidly fading Tyran, earning Edgrin's undying gratitude.
Nimeon continues his archery assault, but misses due to all the stuff between him and his goal. Still, he does manage to knock out the candelabra nearby.

Dorial's flaming sphere scorches the 2nd acolyte, charring some of his wounds. Unfortunately, at least one is still oozing.
Edgrin finishes untying Tyran and pulls the elf from the altar, nearly falling over due to their difference in size, but he doesn't give up.
Kimi rushes up to help the little man, the two of them managing to get the nearly dead elf off of the stone.
With both of the victims removed from the altar, it is easier to see the effect of the blood. No matter which mouth laps it up, it swirls through tiny tunnels into the center of the stone. On the top, beneath where the victims had been, is an open swirling orifice, lined with tongues, previously stone, but slowly turning to flesh.
At this point, Acolyte 1 is no longer bleeding, acolyte 2 is down to a slow seep. The cleric is still bleeding. Tyran and Hollin have both been removed from the altar, revealing a horrible "mouth" of some kind, made of stone slowly turning to flesh.
