Kraygan looks back to his companions in the darkness and talks loudly. "BATH? HAHA! YOU MAKE GOOD JOKE! BRING YAKS, WE EAT ONE AND REST IN RUINS."

Torgan Steelkeg |
Torgan holds Kraygan's lance in one hand as he looks over the long weapon. "Psst... Bushes. Is this when he wanted me to ride in a stab one? I bet I could take it down in one hit..." Torgan asks of Rogzul in a whisper-esque voice.

I have another question that I can't seem to find an answer for on the forums. Can the deflect arrows feat deflect thrown rocks from a giant? It says no large objects like boulders or ballistas, but are rocks thrown by giants qualify as boulders? To add more confusion, if Kraygan is large sized, would that make a difference for missiles he could theoretically deflect
Rogzul |
Attempt two, now that I noticed the bit about each square being ten feet.
Rogzul frowns, still too far away to take his spear to the giants, he moves as fast as he can, trying to cross as much distance as possible before the boulders start coming. He stops within range of both giants.
Run - full round action to move up to 4x movement. Both giants need a will save per giant nail armor.reach is 10 feet
Torgan Steelkeg |
@Kraygan: I would assume that rocks thrown by giants are classified as boulders otherwise there is no point in specifying specifically boulders, thus I wouldn't allow it in PFS even if you are the same size as the Giant. In a home game, I'm not sure how I would rule.

Stepping out from the sparse trees within the narrow valley Wren fries a pair of arrows at the same target while it is still caught off guard and flat-footed. Both of his arrows are able to chip away another stone.

After a bit of research myself I would have to agree. The stones from giants would count as boulders. Even though you are nearly the same size it would still be a difficult feat to knock a boulder out of the way. That and there is a whole special ability led up to rock catching itself.

As the dust settles the traditional looting begins.
One of the giants seems to be wearing what appears to be a cloak wrapped around it's waist, like some sort of loincloth.
Just beyond the bridge the ground begins to grow soft and muddy. Initially dotted with small pools of mucky water, it transforms into a murky, fetid bog after only a few yards. Only a few patches of solid earth poke up from the ominous, glassy black water, held together by knotted clumps of sedge grass and wild rye.
Tiny biting insects are everywhere, skittering across the surface of the water. The bog echoes a chorus of crickets, frogs and other swamp creatures in the still night air.
Near the bridge is a small broken timber raft strung together with sinew and reed that holds a small rotten crate. Inside seems to hold few of the giant's belongings.

It will be even more dangerous if someone comes to check on them," Wren says. "Maybe one of you can cover our tracks for a bit while we find a place to sleep the night."
Wren is ready to move on, to sleep.
1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 16 + 2 = 29 Spellcraft - guantlets
1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 16 + 2 = 27 Spellcraft - glasses
Wren will explain what the guantlets and glasses do. He has no interest in either.
Kraygan Steelkeg |
"Right. Little darkness never stopped dwarves before." Kraygan takes to covering their tracks, or rather, he kicks the stone giant remains into the gorge.
Recovering his lance and mounting up, he points Southwest. "That way."
Going to take some charges from a healing wand. I suggest everyone else do the same.
Cure Light Wounds: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (8, 7) + 2 = 17 2 charges = back to full hp
Jorgan Steelkeg |
"Oh! Hey there, Wren." Jorgan says as he spots the elf behind the fallen giant, oblivious as to how Wren got there.
"If we find some higher ground the wind might keep away the bugs at least. Better than sleeping in a wet hole in the mud I guess."

Loot added to Lootsheet
Walking a few more miles to find a place to rest the valley draws to a close, the swamp grasses begin to thicken and the waters begin to take on a ruddy tinge as the sediments shift from the black silty earth of the lowlands to the iron-rich clay of the mountain soil. Just beyond the bog, near the far end of the canyon, rises an ancient brick structure. A shallow stone channel extends from an arch in the buildings cracked and weathered facade, from which flows a sluggish stream of ruddy mud. A broad stone patio surrounds the channel, with doors on either side leading into the building.

Torgan calms down from his rage, tenderly touching his sore head. "Aye, me noggin will have a large bump tomorrow."
Torgan eyes the amulet as Kraygan cheerfully presents it to the orc. "I guess it can't hurt to make Bushes tougher..."
"Where'd the elf go?" he asks as he looks around, not bothering to look around much farther than his immediate vicinity.
---
At the building, Torgan dismounts from Malt and examines the patio. "Aye, perhaps we should clear this 'fore sleeping." he says.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25
Jorgan Steelkeg |
Jorgan nods in agreement. "It'd make a better camp than the bog, that's for sure. What're they pumping out so much mud for though? I say we go find out."
Jorgan also dismounts and follows his brother closer to the structure, with Spirit following a few steps behind.
