Examinging the area, the party finds the winged women's nest. Within, you find the personal effects of several merchants, pirates, and trackers among a disturbing litter of bones piled on the stony bank below the cliff. Among these items are a +2 light steel shield, a wand of water breathing (10 charges), and 212 gp.
Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |
Kafir leaves the items to the others but offers to carry any unused items on Shaytan. He leads the party onwards!

"We can bury these dead, surely? Faith or no, the bed of a dead demon is no place to rest." Al asks, if any of the bones look humanoid. If not, he merely passes on items and follows.

Heading back toward the northeast, you skirt the northern edge of the forest burnt by the fiery elk. Bushwhacking through the deep forest, you come to a dense stand of trees, the spaces between them obscured by thick webs and piled branches. The interior of the stand is dark, almost like a cave. The entrance is large enough for a horse to pass through.

Using the close quarters as a defensible campsite, the party hunkers down for the night and rests. The next morning, the party continues northeast through the dense forest. Though old trees tower all around, one stands out from the rest. Cool Grapple Facts: Barring special text (which thematically, these things should have by how they look, IMO), a non-adjacent character getting grappled moves to the nearest adjacent square to the grappler. These "things-I-don't-know-IC" have pull because they can only grapple one thing at a time, but love having their Reach AoOs. Plus, slapping something three times and dragging it closer each hit is scary; getting grappled trying to run away is doubly so.
Algonzo wriggles around, and channels positive energy for the first time (and because concentrating in a grapple against big things is hard!) Alas, Razmir sees greatness in ALL creatures, so everyone (even the heathen and the tree) are affected. No selective.
