Male Elf Magus Kensai

Asenath: Vrilli is attempting to cleave the Zombie that's on you

Round 2 Synopsis

The first zombie swings at Leeoli with a grasping fist that seems unfamiliar with the action of a grasp; it clubs its living victim with tremendous strength, sending Leeoli reeling.
The second zombie charges at Asenath, its heavy hands clubbing down on the woman like a hammer. The blow rocks the woman, and blood flows freely from a new wound on her scalp, as she dazedly tries to recover.

Crag’s fist hammer into the zombie, the second seeming to twist its head to unnatural dimensions.

Vrilli rushes to the southeast and swings at the zombie confronting Asenath, but his hurried rush forces the swing wide of its mark, and it whistles through old, decayed clothing instead of decayed flesh.

With the grimness of the Maleye, Leeoli lashes out with his rapier at an undead fleshy throat, skewering it, and then with a quick twisting action the rapier rips its puncture into a gaping gash. When the blade slips out of the zombie’s throat, the head separates from the body and thuds to the ground, followed a moment later by the now dead (again) corpse. Leeoli spins after his attack and springs behind Vrilli’s position.

Gerion seems to be arguing with the wagon driver about something, on the road.
Zazaria swings around to Asenath, then recalls that she can do nothing for the Dhampir girl. Turning back toward the Zombies, she once again presents her Pharasmin symbol, and fueled by a gathering rage and horror, howls a new imprecation: Lady of Graves, harrow these dire souls!

Asenath hisses loudly as the zombie strikes her, and looks truly horrified as Zazaria swings on her and she almost puts her hands up defensively as to ward her away. The amulet about her neck glows fiercely, and dims as Zazaria turns away. She tries to put some distance between her and the zombie, pulling out a furled scroll as she moves.

Round 3 begins

The zombie that was facing Asenath lashes out its nearest intended victim with a half-balled fist.
Attack Vrilli: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

The third zombie shuffles into the gathered group, eying Zazaria as a potential source to slate its undying thirst to kill. It clubs at her ackwardly, but with unnatural strength.
Attack Zazaria: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Both zombies miss their inended targets by quite a bit.

Perception DC15:
You can see another form pulling itself out of the river

In the distance – to the north, you hear a scream!

Everyone's up! Asenath - considered your action to be a restricted withdrawl and map amended.

There may be more! Crawling out of the river!

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

What was that?

Male Elf Magus Kensai

Vrilli takes a sharp breath, regathers himself, and attacks the nearest Zombie (south west) Balance, follow through he whispers to himself as he prepares to strike.
Vrilli uses spell combat (Longsword and disrupt undead)
Attack (Longsword): 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 - 2 = 4
Damage (Longsword): 1d8 ⇒ 1

Spell (Disrupt Undead): 1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 2 = 10
Damage (Disrupt Undead): 1d6 ⇒ 2

GM Nayr: I'm assuming that I deduct 2(the spell combat penalty) from my sword attack and spell attack?

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

attack/damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 241d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2 Crit!
attack/damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5 Crit Confirmed.
I assume that I don't apply the DR twice. Also crit gives me a panache point back as an Inspired Blade..
Darting back in, Leeoli levels his rapier for a quick thrust at a fleshy torso, again attempting to wrench its blade to maximum effect...Leeoli then prepares to Parry whatever may come his way.

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Zazaria lunges at Leeoli and touches his shoulder, crying out In Her Name, be thou healed!

Dropping my prepared Stunning Barrier spell in order to cast Cure Light Wounds on Leeoli.

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

A strange look passes over Leeoli, as the healing prayer repairs his damaged flesh.
... hunh?! ....

Leeoli looks stunned, but manages to breath thanks.

Crag rushes down to join the group, and spins quickly to deliver a viscious kick with that punches out straight from his hip.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Faith has its uses, Mr. Maleye Zazaria offers up a fighting grin and turns to survey the melee.

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

Indeed. Risking a glance at Zazaria, before shifting on his heel ready to parry a zombie arm
But no one of my bloodline has been successfully healed by a cleric since...
Leeoli stopped abruptly. don't let this surprise distract you from the very real danger in fron of us.

Asenath unfurls a scroll and reads it. cause lt wds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Round 3 Synopsis

In the distance to the north, you hear a scream!

The two zombies miss their marks entirely, as does Crags. Vrilli attempts a potent slash and spell combination, but the focus required for the combined actions throws off his aim, and both attacks miss. Leeoli, however, darts back in, leveling his rapier for a quick thrust at a fleshy torso. He once again attempts to wrench the blade to maximum effect, and the strike proves to be a potent one. The zombie’s belly rips open and cold gray guts spill out onto the ground, seeming to tie up its feet. It looks down in disinterest as its organs spill out.
Zazaria lunges at Leeoli and touches his shoulder, crying out In Her Name, be thou healed!
Asenath, back from the combat now, reads a scroll and sighs in satisfaction as it takes effect.

Round 4 Begins

The zombies once again attempt to clobber their living foes!
Attack Zazaria: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Attack Vrilli: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

The zombie attacking Vrilli stumbles over its entrails, and its attack flies wide of its mark. However, the zombie attacking Zazaria lands a square hit that staggers the woman.

Ouch again - 8 damage to Z...standard or move action only

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Zazaria recoils from the powerful blow, grunting in pain and consternation. I shall not be slain by such as these! They must be released from their unholy bondage!
With a great effort, she shakes her head clear of the pain and breathes a hushed prayer to Pharasma. Mother of the dead, do not take me to judgement yet and gestures, summoning up a rush of power. Blue light flares in vibrant spirals around her, flooding her body with healing energy.

Zazaria drops her Doom spell and casts Cure Light Wounds on herself. That's it for Cure spells today, unfortunately.

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Could've been better.

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

I'm assuming I can do that, in my current condition? Failing that, I'll withdraw 5 feet and hope nothing bad happens...

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

if not, then I have a potion for you.

yep, you can do that

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Then so shall it be ;-)

Male Elf Magus Kensai

Vrilli uses Spell combat (Longsword and True Strike

True Strike:
You gain temporary, intuitive insight into the immediate future during your next attack. Your next single attack roll (if it is made before the end of the next round) gains a +20 insight bonus. Additionally, you are not affected by the miss chance that applies to attackers trying to strike a concealed target.
) Vrilli’s eyes flicker, then glaze over slightly and he swings his sword dangerously to the right of the Zombie, perfectly anticipating the stumbling zombie, who lurches into the sword's path. THWACK!

Attack (Longsword): 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 2 + 20 = 28
Damage (Longsword): 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

I hope I have interpreted the spell correctly?

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

attack/damage:: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 231d6 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Relentless, Leeoli dances back in and thrusts his rapier into the zombie yet again before bringing his rapier back in position to parry.
Disease, be exstinguished!

Sure did, Vrilli! One thing - casting a spell that takes a standard action will provoke an attack of opportunity. Essentially, the zombie sees you casting, and instinctively tries to stop you. You can either let him try the attack and follow through with your spell and attack, or try to cast defensively, which would mean no aoo. Both require a con check, but have different DC's (difficulty class.). Normally I'd ask that you clarify what you want to do before you roll, but in this case, please roll and we'll see what your options are.

Male Elf Magus Kensai

Here goes...

Con Check: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16

I had thought that the Zombies had already acted this round. I still have much to learning to do re PF mechanics...

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

Certain actions performed within attack range provide opponents attacks of opportunity..i.e. extra attacks. Spells are one such.

Nice! You'd actually add your int bonus to this, for a total of 19. You had to beat 17 for defensive casting, which means that you cast the spell successfully and do not provoke an Aoo. Sorry...I know - a lot of rules, but don't worry, we're very easy going about them here!

Leeoli, that means that zombie is dead. Feel free to change your actions or just allocate your attack to the other one.

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

[oooc] let it roll to the next zombie (that i can see).[/ooc]

Seeing the mighty blow that the zombie deals to Zazaria, Crag steps forward in between the undead creature and its prey, and lashes out with two quick strikes.

5-foot step, full round action flurry of blows

Attack1: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Attack2: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Both once again prove to be ineffective against the slick undead flesh.

Asenath is up, then we'll wrap up the round!

Female Dhampir Bonded Witch 2

The unholy energy knits her flesh and removes the dark bruises from her pale skin, giving Asenath relief from her wounds. She draws her crossbow and aims at a zombie.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Zazaria casts a glance over her shoulder and a quick look of relief flits across her face as she sees the Dhampir has recovered.
You should stay back, Asenath she cries. I am going to scourge these misbegotten things!

Zazaria is going to Channel Energy again this round, and wants Asenath well clear of the burst radius.

Female Dhampir Bonded Witch 2

Asenath moves away from Zazaria as soon as possible. The amulet about her neck pulses quickly and she hastens her steps.

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

Wait Zazaria. More are coming. We will need your channeling when more are upon us. For now, stand behind us and let us take this one zombie out.

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

Leeoli scans about for the creature that had emerged from the river just moments ago.

Male Elf Magus Kensai

Vrilli looks to the North to see where the scream is coming from.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 To the north as well, if I may. Dice are working for me again.

Round 4 synopsis
The zombies stagger into further attacks, their wild swings carrying with them the weight of their unnatural strength. Vrilli skips aside easily, and the humanoid’s arm swings harmlessly by. The second zombie clubs Zazaria, dazing the woman.

Crag slips in to swing at the zombie, though his fists slip off of the slick flesh once again. Vrilli, however, lands a damaging hit with his sword, his arm imbued with the arcane strength of his spell. His eyes glaze over slightly and he swings the sword to the right of the zombie, who lurches into the swords path. The strike lands solidly, slashing through the creature’s torso and spilling out various lumps of mucky innards. The creature falls to the ground, returning to the afterlife.

Leeoli, seeing the zombie fall dead, skips aside to attack the last of the creatures currently engaged with them. Relentless, Leeoli dances back in and thrusts his rapier into the zombie yet again before bringing his rapier back in position to parry. Disease, be exstinguished!

The unholy energy knits Asenath’s flesh and removes the dark bruises from her pale skin, giving Asenath relief from her wounds. She draws her crossbow and aims at the zombie, letting loose a bolt that slams into its decayed flesh. Though the bolt drives home, the beast seems not to notice.

Perception DC 5:
You can’t pinpoint where the calls are coming from

Perception DC 15:
You can tell that he screams are coming from near the town circle, where a great many of the townsfolk undoubtedly are

Round 5 begins
The remaining zombie attacks Leeoli, who had hurt it with his wicket pointy device.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

It's heavy hand misses by quite a bit

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

panache parry roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 I had declared that I was preparing to parry. So when I got attacked I need to roll this (and I spent one panache point) Since my roll beat the zombie's, and I still have 1 panache point in my pool, I get a riposte attack as an immediate action, before the new round begins..

parry and riposte:
Opportune Parry and Riposte (Ex): At 1st level, when an opponent makes a melee attack against the swashbuckler, she can spend 1 panache point and expend a use of an attack of opportunity to attempt to parry that attack. The swashbuckler makes an attack roll as if she were making an attack of opportunity; for each size category the attacking creature is larger than the swashbuckler, the swashbuckler takes a –2 penalty on this roll. If her result is greater than the attacking creature's result, the creature's attack automatically misses. The swashbuckler must declare the use of this ability after the creature's attack is announced, but before its attack roll is made. Upon performing a successful parry and if she has at least 1 panache point, the swashbuckler can as an immediate action make an attack against the creature whose attack she parried, provided that creature is within her reach. This deed's cost cannot be reduced by any ability or effect that reduces the number of panache points a deed costs.

attack/damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

Leeoli pushes past the Zombie's heavy arm to riposte, sending his rapier at the zombie's chest with a magnificent lunge.

Leeoli's blade slams into the creature, ripping into flesh. The blade slices through the creature's upper arm, and the appendage falls to the ground, oozing out a stinking black fluid.

Nice, I love that ability by a swashbuckler!

Male Elf Magus Kensai

Vrilli shakes the gore off his blade and attempts to finish the remaining zombie.

Vrilli uses spell strike

Attack (Longsword): 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 4 - 2 = 10

Spell (Disrupt Undead): 1d20 + 4 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 2 = 7
Damage (Disrupt Undead): 1d6 ⇒ 2

Vrilli hisses his frustration as his blows sail by harmlessly

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

Vrilli: I'm not actually sure what is the zombie's AC. maybe a 10 is a hit?

att/dmg: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0 I think that is 1 pt non-lethal damage, whatever non lethal means with undead.

Leeoli spins agan ducking low, sends his rapier out like a dart, but only managed to scrape at a decrepid leg. Leeoli, undaunted, returns to form to deliver a parry and riposte.

Male Elf Magus Kensai

Here's hoping...

Human Cleric Ecclesitheurge 5

Mindful of Leeoli's admonition - she, too, has heard the screams from the village - Zazaria insteads jabs viciously at the flailing Zombie with her quarterstaff....

Attack: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Damage: 1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

...but without effect, although she does nearly take Crag's head off and near swings herself off her feet. Steady now Zarya she thinks, ruefully Don't lose your temper.

Sorry - AC12, so those are misses. I count that as 1 damage minimum, Leeoli. Asenath is up

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

Leeoli curses at his ineffective blow.Finish it Asenath!
Leeoli, realized that Asenath might try her bow not realizing its ineffectiveness.
Asenath, against these your bow will do but little harm.

Female Dhampir Bonded Witch 2

"Magus armaturam," declares as she weaves her hands about her, a small object clenched in her right hand.

Asenath casts mage armor on herself.

Crag again attempts to batter the lumbering figure.

attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Round 5 synopsis

The remaining zombie attacks Leeoli, who had hurt it with his wicked pointy device. The beast’s blow flies wide, but Leeoli pushes past the zombie’s heavy arm and sends his rapier into its chest with a magnificent lunge. The blade slams into the creature and slices through its upper arm, severing the appendage.

Crag pummels the creature with his fists, leaving it dazed even more than it was, and seemingly only held upright by the lightest tether to the unearthly power that drives it.

Vrilli shakes the gore off of his blade and attempts to finish the beast, but only hisses in frustration as his sword and spell fly harmlessly by.

Leeoli spins again, ducking low, and sends his rapier out like a dart. Though he only manages to land a scrape, the damage to the beast is just enough to sever its tie to life. It slumps to the ground, unconscious.

Behind the group, the farmer’s wagon starts off again, with Gerion seated next to the farmer – both obviously beating a hasty retreat.

Crag’s blows and Leeoli’s riposte took it to 0 HP, then the scratch is enough to put it to -1 – thus, down and dying. Zazaria and Asenath can change actions as they’d like. There’s one more zombie visible, and coming your way, screams to the north, and who knows what else.

Human Inspired Blade 1 Empiricist 4 (Current HP:42/36; Current AC:23 T:15; FF:18 ) | ; Remaining Panache: 5/5; Inspiration: 5/5; Init:+7)

Let us draw this last one towards us as we move a bit north.?
I suppose I might have a move action left?

Male Elf Magus Kensai

Vrilli starts walking carefully to the North, taking care not to get too far ahead or behind the group. Vrilli looks to see what's happening up North.
