Ok, that means we've got 25,433 gp (6358 gp each) if we sell everything, or 13,683 gp (3420 gp each) if we hold onto the scroll of permanency and Secrets of the Dreaming Dark.

Not if you're a dwarf with darkvision!

Anyone want to use the scroll of permanency? Maybe perma-enlarge Kurth, if that's something you think is helpful.

Male Half Elf Wizard [7] | HP 37 | AC 16 [20] | T 14 | FF 14 [18] | CMB +3 CMD 17 (15) | F+4 R+5 W+6 (all +2 vs. enchantments)| Init+6 Perc+9

Or if we are concerned with having Daylight, maybe finding a way to have that Permanency used to that purpose? Maybe on a weapon or the like?

Male Human Fighter 7 | HP 56/73| AC 27 T 13 FF 24 (-4 w/o shield)| CMD 24 | F+8 R+7 W+6 | Init +6 | Perc +10

Kurth has no desire to be permanently enlarged. If someone is going to use the scroll, something like see invisibility makes more sense to me. I think a scroll of daylight is more than sufficient, considering Harsk should be able to read it with his darkvision.

What are thoughts on Secrets of Dreaming Dark? That's more than 2,500 gp each if we sell it. But there may be a good reason it was Hunclay's most prized possession.

Male Half Elf Wizard [7] | HP 37 | AC 16 [20] | T 14 | FF 14 [18] | CMB +3 CMD 17 (15) | F+4 R+5 W+6 (all +2 vs. enchantments)| Init+6 Perc+9

Well, if I understand correctly, once I read it I gain the bonus. I do not believe I have to hold the book in my possession afterwards. Is that correct, EF?

Doesn't help in Deeper Darkness, which is usually when Daylight comes in handy.

About the book: I'll have to double check later. I'm traveling and don't have the book with me now.

That was my thought - the deeper darkness issue. But I didn't think about that little act of reading being impossible in deeper darkness. Oil of daylight would be much more useful and I'll think I'll pick up a vial of that just in case.

I'm still in the midst of leveling up. Put my ability score increase into Constitution.

Also, I have limited experience with a cleric. What sort of items do you feel I should pick up that would be most useful? I think I'll definitely pick up some scrolls, but not sure what else.

I didn't have time to go thru everything but for now I have scrolls with Air Bubble, Comprehend Languages, Expeditious Retreat and Protection from Evil (x5). I'll still take suggestions for more.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Since you have a month it's not a bad idea to make a backup scroll of everything you know, even spells you prepare every day. And for spells like Magic Missile don't forget that you can scribe it at your caster level or lower. The cost for scribing a scroll at a caster level higher than minimum is:

12.5 x level of spell x caster level

So for 37.5 gp you could make a scroll of magic missile (CL 3) that shoots two missiles. Pretty cheap for a backup when you run out of spells or really need another magic missile.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

You guys are doing much better at the auction than we did. First of all, we turned in the book (not realizing we could have kept it) and then tried to buy it back but lost. We got the manual of war and potions I think and then gave up because we weren't doing so well at it.

Nice rolling, Milloy!

Alice has a +7 to Bluff and is happy to try bidding on anything. What stuff do folks want?

Male Human Fighter 7 | HP 56/73| AC 27 T 13 FF 24 (-4 w/o shield)| CMD 24 | F+8 R+7 W+6 | Init +6 | Perc +10

EndlessForms: I put together a list of things I'd like to purchase - could I have done it in the month leading up to the auction or do I need to wait?

Here's what I'm after, paid for from my share of the loot:

* Have my masterwork chainmail enchanted to +1 chainmail (1,000 gp)
* Purchase a +1 darkwood shield (1,257 gp)
* Purchase a masterwork mighty composite longbow (+4) (800 gp)
* Purchase 20 cold-iron arrows and 20 alchemical silver arrows (5 gp)
* Bandolier (5 sp)
* (2) potions of expeditious retreat (100 gp)
* (2) potions of divine favor (100 gp)
* (2) oils of magic weapon (100 gp)
* (2) potions of shield of faith (100 gp)

Total: 3,462.5 gp

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Yes, you could have made purchases before the auction.

Inactive

Alice would like to pool all of her wealth into the mighty Bracers of Falcon's Aim (4,000 gp).

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

I believe those have been FAQ'd to be much more expensive. I think there was a 0 left out of the original.

Male Human Fighter 7 | HP 56/73| AC 27 T 13 FF 24 (-4 w/o shield)| CMD 24 | F+8 R+7 W+6 | Init +6 | Perc +10

They actually were straight up banned for PFS. But if Alice wants to go for bracers of archery, Kurth has 900 gp he can loan her.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Yeah, Kurth is right about that, although we aren't bound to PFS rules here. I'm still using the FAQ'd 40 000 gp price because they are way too powerful for only 4000 gp.

Inactive

Okay, that's fine. They are overpowered. Alice has instead purchased a Belt of Incredible Dexterity!

Harsk will purchase a belt of mighty constitution for 4,000 and another platinum ring to offer to Alice - so he can cast shield of faith on her as well.

4050 gp spent.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

I will be gone all day tomorrow and unable to post. I should have internet back by Monday afternoon though. Thanks for your patience!

Also, for Alice RE that longbow: maybe when we get back to town someone can drop the adaptive enchantment on it. Only 1,000 gp, so could be done in a day or less.

Sorry for the silence. This week was the big push to finish the student housing I've been working on. I've been putting in 12-hour days this week and have just been flat-out exhausted at the end of the day. When I have the energy to post, I've admittedly focused on the Society PbP games I'm in.

The good news is, the UNR job is done. I've got one more week of cabinet work - then I'm back in the office on the 11th, able to sneak in posts during the day.

Alice has a hankering to take a level of ranger, then. She's going to discover a newfound hatred for dragons! Would that be alright, Endless?

Male Human Fighter 7 | HP 56/73| AC 27 T 13 FF 24 (-4 w/o shield)| CMD 24 | F+8 R+7 W+6 | Init +6 | Perc +10

Woot!

Kurth is leveled. Took heavy blades for weapon training, skill points into Intimidate and Perception, favored class bonus to hit points, Shield Focus for feat.

Also, I tallied up the loot from the tomb and noted who took what. There are a couple of question marks.

Non-magical stuff to split:
circlet worth 2,250 gp
platinum and ruby ring worth 1,250 gp

Magic:
ring of strength sapping (not sure who took this, or if we traded it?)
+1 acid resistant light steel shield (Harsk)
+1 glamered full plate (Kurth)
amulet of natural armor +2 (Alice)
ring of major acid resistance (Milloy)
+3 breastplate of luck (Harsk)
+1 keen mty. comp. longbow (Alice)
Wyrmsmite, +2 dragonbane transformative longsword (?? Harsk, are you interested or should Kurth take it?)
(10)+1 dragonbane arrows (Alice)
arrow of dragonslaying (Alice)
mnemonic vestment (Useless to us, sell for 2,500 gp?)
maximize metamagic rod (Milloy?)
ring of force shield (Milloy or Alice?)
slippers of spider climb (Kurth or Alice?)

Yep, that's fine with me!

Also note for the Ring of Force Shield that you still have to wield it in ine hand like a shield. The advantage is the free action to put it up and the fact that it has no armor check penalty or spell failure chance so there's really no penalty for using it without being proficient (cough*Milloy*cough).

Inactive

Kurth can take the slippers of spider climb as he will more often have trouble reaching the baddies. Alice can always shoot the bad guys from wherever.

Ring of Force Shield should go to Milloy.

Alice will look to add the Adaptive enchantment, but needs to get some gold for that.

***EDIT*** - Just remembered Alice has Weapon Focus: Shorbow. Can I change that to Weapon Focus: Longbow? Pretty please?

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

I'll allow retraining but you have to pay the gold costs for it as normal in Ultimate Campaign. Normally a feat takes 5 days to retain but since it's so similar I'll let you do it with a day of practice when you go back to town (but still pay the 5 day cost).

So the normal gold cost is number of days (5) x current level (4) x 10

So you can pay 200 gp to retrain your feat with a day of practice.

Inactive

That's fair - thank you very much!

Alice is all leveled up:

Rogue 4 / Ranger 1!
+7 HP
+1 BAB
+2 Fort
+2 Ref
Favored Enemy: Dragon
Feat: Deadly Aim
Track
Wild Empathy
Acrobatics
Bluff
Disable Device
Escape Artist
Perception
Stealth
Survival

I will give up the Ring of Acid Resistance now that I have this other ring (I have 3 so I need to give up one). Someone can either take it or we can sell it.

Inactive

Kurth might as well take it if Harsk has the shield of acid resistance.

Male Human Fighter 7 | HP 56/73| AC 27 T 13 FF 24 (-4 w/o shield)| CMD 24 | F+8 R+7 W+6 | Init +6 | Perc +10

Ok, Kurth will take the ring of acid resistance and the slippers. If we sell the circlet and platinum ring, as well as the ring of strength sapping and the mnemonic vest (both for half), that gets us 10,000 gp, or 2,500 gp each to spend.

Only question I still have is who should take the dragonbane sword/whatever it needs to be?

Male Half Elf Wizard [7] | HP 37 | AC 16 [20] | T 14 | FF 14 [18] | CMB +3 CMD 17 (15) | F+4 R+5 W+6 (all +2 vs. enchantments)| Init+6 Perc+9

2500gp each? Cool by me. I'll try to make my purchases tonight but it could be Thursday before I can as I'm out of town today.

Inactive

Alice spends 1200gp on the adaptive enchantment and on some archery lessons to better use her new bow. That leaves 1300gp, which is generally available to anyone if needed (I'm not sure how to use that gold). How are we doing on healing wands?

Male Half Elf Wizard [7] | HP 37 | AC 16 [20] | T 14 | FF 14 [18] | CMB +3 CMD 17 (15) | F+4 R+5 W+6 (all +2 vs. enchantments)| Init+6 Perc+9

So far I have spent 390gp to write some additional spells into my spellbook. I'll see if I want to purchase/create some scrolls or buy anything else tonight or tomorrow.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Note that you can only create one scroll per day (since you can only craft one magical item per day, even if it takes less than a day to create). It kinda sucks, but that's the way it is. Also to create the scroll you have to have the spell prepared and then use it up as if you had cast it in the process of creating the scroll.

You can also create scrolls at any caster level up to your own caster level.

Cost: 12.5 x level of spell x caster level

So you can choose to make a scroll of magic missile at CL 1 for 12.5 or at CL 3 for 37.5 or CL 5 for 62.5, as an example.

I play a wizard in our Carrion Crown game who has a pretty extensive scroll library full of backup utility spells and whatnot.

Male Half Elf Wizard [7] | HP 37 | AC 16 [20] | T 14 | FF 14 [18] | CMB +3 CMD 17 (15) | F+4 R+5 W+6 (all +2 vs. enchantments)| Init+6 Perc+9

I'm guessing we do not have days so I'll likely purchase them instead, keeping it simple that way, save for a few expensive ones. How many days would we have? One? Three? Any?

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Aeteperax gave you two weeks to deliver the money to the monastery.

Male Human Fighter 7 | HP 56/73| AC 27 T 13 FF 24 (-4 w/o shield)| CMD 24 | F+8 R+7 W+6 | Init +6 | Perc +10

I believe our group wand of cure light wounds has 29 charges remaining.

Kurth will sell his old suit of +1 chainmail for half price. That, plus his spare gold and 2,500 gp share from the new stuff is enough to buy a belt of strength +2, if one is available or can be crafted. I can't remember what the gp limit was in Belhaim - DM?

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Purchase limit is 5000 gp. There are a few specific magic items for sale as well.

House of Abadar: +1 light crossbow, +2 long sword, scroll of restoration (3), wand of cure moderate wounds (39 charges)
Shrine of the Seven Roses: deep red sphere ioun stone, goggles of minute seeing, wand of lesser restoration (43 charges)
Sensina Hides: +1 studded leather armor
Delbin's Devices: +1 frost short sword, golembane scarab, ring of minor acid resistance
Chance Smithy: +1 bashing heavy steel shield

Sorry everyone. I'm going to need a little bit to update Harsk. I apologize. In reading through all the posts, I would love the +3 breastplate and the shield of acid resistance (I think I've had the shield already, right?)

Sometime tomorrow, I will be able to (hopefully) update Harsk.

Male Half Elf Wizard [7] | HP 37 | AC 16 [20] | T 14 | FF 14 [18] | CMB +3 CMD 17 (15) | F+4 R+5 W+6 (all +2 vs. enchantments)| Init+6 Perc+9

Milloy updated. For some reason I show I have two Oils of Keen Edge, did I give those to someone already? If not, who wants them?

I'm traveling this weekend and have limited posting ability. You can pretty much bot Alice by having her continuously fire arrows.

Inactive

Rogue 5 / Ranger 1
Sneak Attack +3d6
+6 Use Magic Device
+1 Acrobatics
+1 Bluff
+1 Escape Artist
+1 Perception
+1 Stealth

I know that's actually one more skill point than Alice should get, but somehow she shortchanged herself by one skill point earlier on, so I'm just catching up.

Inactive

I'm about to take a rather long vacation of sorts, until November 10. May be reduced to posting on a phone at times. Please bot me when needed, though I will do my best to keep posting.

The Flaxseed Pathfinder Lodge

Ok. I think we've only got one more fight until the dragon but I don't want to bot anyone at all during that fight so if we have to go a little slower during the epic dragon battle that's fine.
