Sander, realizing there's nothing between him and one of the horrible creatures that haunted his nightmares, runs around to put the campfire between it and him. Pulling a flask of acid as he goes, he throws it toward the big spider trying to eat Storn, slamming it into the creature's abdomen.

Storn shook off the worst of the effects of the poison and slashed out at the remaining spider. The blade slashed through its head, killing it. The ettercap nearby screeched in pain as it took the full brunt of the acid flask that Sander lobbed its way. Meanwhile, Molly began chanting her spell. Storn took advantage of the breather to heal himself once more., before taking another swipe from his foe's claws. Kipa's foe followed him, but was unable to land a solid hit.

Quill has to resist wasting arrows at the fleeing ClickHands and instead goes to check first on Storn, then on Kipa.

Seeing that others are wounded, he calls the party closer.

"Ok, I've never done this before," Quill says, holding his holy symbol up. "I'm going to see if the Elf that Hugs the World wants to help us." He holds his holy symbol higher, and prays deeply for healing.

"Er, I'll be right back!"

He rushes back to where Storn is getting dressed.

"In the entryway? That sounds like a horrible idea? Let's go find where these spider things were! We can probably rest there!"

The night still hangs heavy around you as you discuss your options. Those who want to push on are countered by those that say you don't know what is ahead. Those creatures certainly came from somewhere, and one ran away, perhaps to alert others. Looking around the area, you can't see much in the darkness. The open area where you camped was the best choice at the time, offering potential attackers no cover, and plenty of lanes of sight.

As they talked, Sander looked about. He saw no signs of prior scouting, but then with the fire going, certain creatures could easily have found them in the night. He found no treasure on the spiders, but the ettercaps were well provisioned, each with a mitrhil dagger, many coins and gems, and several magical items.

If someone wants to try to ID all those magic items ... ? Sander will take one of the daggers if no one else wants them.

"What do you think everyone? Maybe the tomb is safer than out here..."

Let's figure out the plan. I guess I realized I'm probably horribly metagaming by not wanting to go into the tomb, as there's not really a reason for Sander to think there'll be anything in the entryway. That may well be as safe a spot as anywhere else. I do think we probably need a day to rest and recover before pushing on, which is a shame as the day hasn't even started. We burned a lot of resources there.

Sander blanches at Storn's actions, but he's not sure there's any better option. He'll try to rest as much as he can once his heart stops pounding.

"So, are we just going to wait here until tomorrow," he asks as he waits to fall asleep again.

Let's make sure our plans are clear. We used a lot of resources before the day even began. Do we want to try to go into the tomb today or see if we are better prepared after another night's sleep? If the latter, I'm going to explore the plateau a little when we wake up. Quill used some resources, but in theory, as a divine caster, he should be at full strength come morning. He's always prayed to the Elf that Hugs Hunts the World in the morning. Storm might have plenty of resources.

Yeah, if that was before our rest was complete, maybe all those resources will still renew in the morning. That'd certainly make things easier.

Still, the underbrush had grown right up next to the path in places. About fifteen feet in, another of the little white stones marked it as the same path you had been following.

@Quill - I didn't forget about you, I was just waiting to see if anyone else was going to help with those magic items

While everyone else was busy prepping the camp, Quill took the time to look at the scrolls and potions. One of the potions was a single application of Greater Magic Fang spell. The other, he couldn't identify. The scrolls were easy enough. One was an alchemist's formula, if he was reading the symbols correctly, for the Blur spell. The other was a scroll of lesser restoration with two copies written on it.

I'll take ownership and tracking of the lesser resto wand. Swapping out my spells a bit, lesser resto becomes Grace, and a shield of fatih becomes Liberating Command. Stupid spiders.

Sleeping in spiked plate mail is a dumb idea, but Storn is good at those, and he wakes up a grumpy, miserable mess. However after using his wand and eating a little becomes as tolerable as he ever is.

Storn takes a while to say his prayers and add a new braid to his beard which has now grown back to the point it could be accurately described as bushy. He adjusts his pack, snaps down the visor on his helmet, and grabs his sword.

"Did we figure out what that stuff is?"

Storn takes a gander at the last vial

"Well that was obvious. All right, let's go find this vault. Once we get in, Kipa goes in front. I'll forever honour Marjoram's name by remembering to look for traps."

"I thought you all said this was a tomb. How could tombs have monsters and traps in it? What kind of tomb are we going into? Sounds more like a tomb of horrors than a place where I want to be buried," Quill opines naively.

Quill looks much much worse for wear. Apparently, this mornings devotions were *MUCH* more difficult than usual, what with the switch from hugging to hunting. He's still not sure what to make of that. His face is pale and his hair more unkempt than usual. When he tries to smile, he does so weakly.

Hunting? Really? I like the hugging part so much more. Like with Marigold. Oh...I wonder if she like hugging.

He will be happy to again guard the back while Kipa sets off all the traps with Storn's face.

Quill gives the scroll of lesser restorations to Storn Add two charges to the wand? Or use these first on Molly? and the scroll of Blur to Sander. He packs the potions away unless someone wants them.

"Thanks, Quill," Sander says brightly, trying to cheer the elf as he stashes the scroll in his back to copy into his formula book later ... assuming they don't all die.

"Unfortunately, sometimes tombs are ... scary," he says, his smile fading. "They're filled with elemental evils and, well, like the one under Trunau, remember? Hopefully this one won't have anything it it -- I mean, the orcs and giants didn't have the whole map, right? -- but better safe than sorry."

As he finishes talking, he starts mixing up batches of reagents, pouring one all over his fine jacket, which immediately absorbs the liquid bomber's eye, as usual.

After waking, Molly does her morning exercizes - martial arts require upkeep, after all - then spends time communing with her toad familiar, Kronug.
"Alright," she says once she's finished. "Let's get this over with; I hate tombs. Always something living in them that shouldn't be. That or undead."

@Kipa - what entrance? The entrance to the stand of woods is about 200 feet away. You haven't found the tomb's entrance yet

Storn just starts clanking down the path, hoping to either fall in the tomb or beat a trap to death with his face or something. "Keep eye out!"

Quill follows the group, hoping the entrance to the tomb and the spider's lair are different places...but also not.

"Hey...did we want to track the spiders and clickyhands back to their lair? Might be nothing left there but loot? We like loot, right?" Quill suggests, hoping Kipa or Storn can track.
