Watch out there, don't confuse the 5-foot step rules. If the dragon is a tiny creature, then he has to go into his enemy square to attack, and provided Cirri is equipped with a melee weapon, Cirri shall get an AoO before the dragon can even start the attack.
First AoO for leaving a threatened square is avoided because he is doing so with a 5-foot step.
Second AoO for entering your enemy square shall trigger Cirri's attack though.

Seeing that the dragon is now in the same spot as Cirri, he realizes that he can't use his chord of shards spell on the dragon. So, continuing his performance, he drops his whip, draws his bow while moving into the room, then aims at the dragon.

I was away from my computer when I posted that. He would have walked over to the right so that only Rys would have been hit by a corner of the fifteen foot cone. I will show you what I mean when I next get on my computer.
EDIT. Fixed map while on my computer. Pandora is in the clear, even though she made the save :), so she wouldn't have had to worry about it. Next time I will wait until I get on my computer to post that I am moving.

you attempt, the door will not open and no one can move beyond it, not even magically.

The caverns beyond are outside the scope of this adventure.

On your way out you search the place where the captives where held and find a wand of cure light wounds and a scroll of flaming sphere.

Merida had been holding up her crossbow, trying and failing to see a clear shot throughout the battle, and was relieved to hear that the tiny dragon had fallen.

At the mention of ale, Merida pipes in, "Sounds like a plan Mr. Ryskovich!" Merida gives away all but one (4) of her trail rations to the prisoners, planning to buy more later.

We are back! Ryskovich, I haven't forgotten your chronicle, had some issues with the printer.

In Whitethrone you spend remarkably little time researching your next steps. All Pandora knows is that an Ulfen warrior once carved out a small
“kingdom” for himself in the western regions of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, earning loyalty from local Kellid tribes.

The Ulfen have a saying: “No blade is as sharp, no demon as cruel as the winds that walk their way down the Icestair.” At the border of Irrisen and the untamed wilds of the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, the meaning of those words becomes clear as the barren, snow-covered plains stretch to the horizon.

Four days’ travel now lies between the eastern edge of Irrisen and the shattered remains of the Huscarl King’s keep. To the east, sinuous snow drifts give way to rocky foothills from which pines and scrub brushes claw for life. In the distance, the massive creatures that give this land its name shuffle along at a ponderous speed, still impossibly huge even from far away. Skagni’s map marks a clear and straightforward path, but the snow makes for slow travel. The Shadow Lodge agents have a head start, but persistence through the harsh environment and adherence to the strict map may yet make it possible to catch them before they reach the Keep of the Huscarl King and gain access to the mighty weapon held within.

The thick cluster of pine trees ends abruptly at the top of a low hill. At the bottom, the snow is littered with the aftermath of battle. Broken shields and spears jut from the snow like fractured bones, and blood colors the ground around a sprawl of bodies, many still seemingly locked in combat.

Not impressed by the glacial winds of his country of born, Pandora helps herself through the snowed path. The map and her wayfinder pointing to the North helps out the travel.

At the sight of the bodies Pandora cannot but let escape a gasp "Ash! What happened here?" she tries to identify from the distance what happened to the corpses and who are them.

Cirri spent her days dancing to her heart's delight. Even knee deep in snow, Cirri would snap her fingers to some beat known only to herself. When she wasn't dancing, Cirri was noting the various wildlife in the tundra and scribbling them down or trying to identify them in some way.

She spent her spare time getting to know the other Pathfinders (or annoying them.):


  • She spoke to Merida a lot about her favorite breed of dog, and if that extended to wolves, too. Because wolves are cool.
  • Cirri expressed a lot of interest in Roderick's bombs. His explanation of alchemy was probably one of the few times she was quiet; she wrote down every detail.
  • Cirri had a hundred questions to ask about Quinray's mule, and she would ask for him to play the drums so she had a tempo to dance to. He probably noted it was a bad idea to draw so much attention to themselves.
  • Pandora also heard many questions about her music, but Cirri was intrigued over her transformative abilities. All Cirri could do is grow large, and she couldn't wait to turn into a goblin.
  • Cirri would always offer to spar with Ryskovich. That or talk about all of the trolls and giants running around town. She's never seen that before!

After getting atop the hill, Cirri notices Pandora pause. Cirri is mortified as she observes the carnage.

Ryskovich, heads back to get his weapon enchanted, before meeting with his group he has gotten accustomed seeing. They head out to stop the Aspis from obtaining the relic, and when he sees the sight before him, he can only stand in awe and horror.

During the days between missions, Merida has her fill (which is only about 1.5 mugs) of ale, and laughter. When Cirri talks to her about dog breeds, she's very intrigued to learn what exactly a "breed" is. Among her tribes-people dogs were used to hunt, and for warmth. They certainly culled the sick and weak, but she had no idea that people in other cultures would mate certain dogs together to bring about certain traits. Wait until the beast-master hears of this!

With her new spoils, the barbarian becomes a bit more civilized. She invests in stronger armor, and has her father's old falchion re-forged by a skilled mage-smith.

Coming upon the battle scene, Merida scans to see if anyone is still alive.

Roderick having enjoyed the short break is wishing there was more time in the warmth of a fire sipping brandy than in the icy cold field of battle.

Pandora talks friendly with the magus "Well, I learned my first notes at these white plains some time ago. It was tradition in my clan to sing during the cold nights close to the fire. Much later, when I ventured into southern lands I discovered the magical power on those notes and how to use it to change men behaviour."

She makes a pause for a while, and then extends on her magic "About my transformation, it is part of my inner magic. I believe some fey blood touched my family some generations ago, and since then we have always developed one or other power. I feel like those powers are growing stronger on my as time passes, and the challenge I have to face on my duty as a Pathfinder have just made those powers to trigger faster." she then grins at the magus and adds "And about goblin... well, I love to transform into my enemy, that contributes to disconcert them... and goblins... I just fear them as much as I revere them for their boldness."

"Cool. So it's like a part of you. I've met plenty of people whose magic is just innate. I've had to learn it the hard way."

"I used to sail a lot. Sometimes people get bad ideas about women on ships. They think it's bad luck." Cirri shrugs. "I fought plenty of people off with a mop , so it was easy to use a quarterstaff after that."

"I had many dreams where I thought I was a mermaid. Or a harpy?" Cirri tries to recall something but shakes her head and sighs. "I don't remember, I just remember singing and dancing a lot. I've always wanted to change my form, ride the winds and sail the waves." Cirri pulls out her spellbook, flipping through her half completed notes and lessons she's learned. "So I started attending magic schools and learning from many wizards. One day I'll learn how to do more than grow big. And then I can fly, swim and crawl to my heart's content." Cirri giggles.

"I'm not as good as dedicated warriors or accomplished wizards, but I can do a little bit of both." Cirri grins, enjoying her time with a new friend.

Roderick seems oblivious to the conversation around him as he continues to study the battle site. He paces distances, takes a few notes, and checks depth and direction of footprints.

"All very interesting. But where does it all lead?" he says to no one in particular.

Quinray answers Cirri's questions to the best of his abilities and he taps out the beat that he hears Cirri snapping. He wanders over to the pile of dead bodies, wondering if any of them are going to rise or not.


Fiend series | Shackles

From a distance it is quite hard to make out any details, although you do notice that the ten bodies lie very still. You can also see that five of the bodies seem to be wearing heavier clothing then the five others.

From the east you hear a low growl and you see a stocky, muscular mammal moving towards you, its snarling lips revealing a mouth full of yellow teeth! You have ample time to react

As soon as he can react, Roderick will step to the north to get a better view and hurl a bomb at the beast (only if nobody from the party has already moved into melee with it).

The wolverine charges Cirri! Ryskovich swings his falcate and neatly lays it in the beast's neck. Unfortunately for Cirri the frothing beast seems not to notice it's wounds and it rakes it claw over Cirri's legs.

That is one very dead wolverine....

You climb down to check on the bodies and see that five wear cold weather outfits and padded armor while the other five are clad in just leather armor. These last five have the lower half of their face painted white. Some 15 javelins, 5 shields and 5 battleaxes are lying scatered between the bodies.

Roderick locates a series of boot-shod footprints leading off in the same
direction you are headed, followed by the more crudely-shod prints of another set of humanoids that followed shortly thereafter.

Carefully descending to the battlefield Pandora checks the injuries on the fallen men.

"Why always in the face? Why?" Cirri squeaks as the wolverine pounces her. She's quite happy when Pandora takes it down, though. "Thanks guys!"

Cirri pulls out her brand new Wand of Cure Light Wounds. "I bought this wand from a Troll. He promised it would work or he wound pummel whoever sold it to him. Nice guy, if you ignore the smell ."

UMD: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

After one use, Cirri's hand recoils and the wand falls. "Oops! He told me not to hold it that way! Guess I need to wait until tomorrow to use it again."

Pandora takes Cirri's wand "Don't worry dear. Let me try it." and tries to use it over her wounds.
