Heh... I still haven't quite got a handle on all your folks' schedules.
It seems like the most active time is between midnight and 8am my time... which is when I'm asleep! Has made things a little awkward for me, as I feel I need to get something posted before I go to bed, so there's something for you to respond to! =)
What time zone are folks in, anyway? (I'm in Seattle (PST))
EM±GM |
ya, that's like 3 to 6 in the morning for me! I'm out like a light then =)
And this is for everyone... if things start to move a little fast (or slow) for folks, let me know. I try to keep things moving as best I can, and worry folks might feel they're playing catch-up sometimes! It's not intentional.
Technically, I should probably slow down a bit, just to keep things going until the 27th and Gameday6 starts... I already registered the next scenario in our run (and the one after) for Gameday, so can't start it 'til the 27th. I don't deal well with dead air! =)
Dale the Sage |
A bit slower doesn't bother me, this time of year I'm pretty busy with work so I typically can't post more than twice a day. But I can adjust to how fast we move along, whatever works best for you GM.

I'm in Japan, so I'm in JST or UTC +9. I believe, until daylight savings is over, that midnight on the east coast is 1:00 PM here, so everything on the boards is dead anywhere from around 10-11 in the morning until 9-10 at night and almost all of the posting happens when I'm asleep.

I am in EDT (Michigan, USA). I tend to post most throughout the workday (9 AM - 5 PM; don't judge me), though I obviously also post at night and on weekends.
Brady Torquatus |
I'm French, living in France, GMT +0 I think....
Where, if I may ask? I used to work for a company that had a location in Le Vaudreuil (between Paris and Rouen); I was lucky enough to visit a couple of times for training. I also have friends in Lyon, and have visited there as well!

Well Brady, I think I'm contractually obligated to hate you as a Ohioan :P . Same here on posting times.

Dammit. And I was beginning to like you.
Go Blue!
Mr. Monty |
OH! IO! ;)
Even worse, I'm Columbus based. I swear every time there is a game I have to hide like it's nuclear war until the next day. Seriously, why do buckeye fans riot when we WIN!? as well as lose? Makes no sense.
Brady Torquatus |
Haha. Years ago I had a girlfriend, a U of M alumnus, who had to attend training in Columbus.
I ordered yellow roses wrapped in blue ribbon to be delivered to her room.
The flower shop clerk stole my CC# and I had to cancel my card.

Trying to save some space by moving my rules questions about falling and jumping and such here.
Forgot the slower climb speed! Oops! I'll fix on map as soon as I can.
As for the "Fall intentionally" Thing, that's where I've had some table variation, mostly cause it starts getting weird when you can jump higher than fall damage so I've had different GMs rule it different ways. One GM I had ruled it I had to make a jump check to "Reach" my location and if I missed the "Jump" I fell prone and took damage. If I'm only allowed to "Fall intentionally" then I may have to get creative as that really decreases the effectiveness of the whole climbing thing.
Also, I wondered what your rules/interpretations there are of attacking while falling and falling on someone are since the rules don't seem to be to clear on how that works. Sorry for all the questions, just figured might as well get these idea's out of the way.
EM±GM |
To jump high enough that you'd be in the fall damage range (20' up), would be like a DC 80... once you're skill starts getting up that high, I think you just have to hand wave some things =)
There is no such thing as free falling... well unless you're a monk with the safe fall stuff =) Not sure where other GM's are pulling that from.
If a character deliberately jumps instead of merely slipping or falling, the damage is the same but the first 1d6 is nonlethal damage. A DC 15 Acrobatics check allows the character to avoid any damage from the first 10 feet fallen and converts any damage from the second 10 feet to nonlethal damage.
That seems pretty straight forward to me. If you deliberately jump, then the above rule kicks in.
In this case, I'd say as long as you landed on a table, and made the acrobatics check you'd be fine.
As for attacking from above ... um... I'd probably treat it like a charge... though still with the issue of you ending up prone if you take damage.
Trying to land on them is not really a defined thing (unless I count you like a dropped object...), at that point you're attempting to grapple or trip or bull rush or the like, and you'd have to go to combat maneuvers I suppose. Depends on your goal. I'd definitely give them an AoO if they're aware of you, as you're attempting to enter their space to do it.

Ok, I think I'll just pick up a feather fall ring once I have the cash, just messes with my attack plans a bit
As for maneuvers, probably various trip attacks, though I do have a hilarious idea involving a jump spell, a immovable rod and a reach weapon with the "hang by your tail", feat...

Boots of The Cat might serve your purposes too.
Still take damage (but minimum), but don't fall prone at the end of it ... and very affordable

Wow. I hope that I am around when that happens. Further down the line, obviously, but wow. :)
Thaddeus Treeskipper |
There's something cool I would like to do, so I wanted to discuss it with you before I posted the action. Tad would like to use burning hands on the area where the invisible Lura last was/where he heard the voice coming from. I realize that if she's moved, it means a wasted spell. My suggestion would be that Tad climbs up on to the table just past Faliana, if the square marked with the '?' is where he last saw Lura.
GM_Starson |
Nope, not fixing. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon
Mr. Monty |
Hey GM, one suggestion I've seen to try and make the campaign come back to my tabs is to make sure that the GM has it listed as a active campaign. Don't suppose you can double check that for me?
Mr. Monty |
Nope. I've got the same problem across 4 different platforms, home computer with the paizo tool extension, work computer with none, phone with none, and wayfinder. :(
EM±GM |
Combats seem to go a little slower when folks are in widely varied time zones I've noticed.
As for Gameday, we're not really on any clock here, so a little bit over doesn't matter.
Was more concerned about finishing early... and then having to distract you with shiny things until I could start the next one =)
(and no, I won't tell you what knowledge roll shiny things fall under!)
Brady Torquatus |
(and no, I won't tell you what knowledge roll shiny things fall under!)
Doesn't matter, Dale will still ace the roll.
EM±GM |
For the record, breaking the tank is totally not on the rails they give me in the scenario =)
So I'm just winging it.
Did you know, to calculate the volume of a tank...
width x length x height = cubic feet
cubic feet x 7.47 = gallons of water!
Its a 15x15x15 tank... but I only filled it 12'...
Still that's over 20 thousand gallons of water. Yikes!
Dale the Sage |
Now multiply that by around 8.5lbs per gallon! I can't imagine the foundation in this place to support that much weight when the town is built on stilts and trees.
I'm also surprised that scenario wasn't put in since they specifically put the tank in there?
**PS: Yes Dale can be annoying to deal with as a GM, I apologize.. a little.

Ya I know. I know when I played this many years ago, we broke the tank too =) Though I was a soundstriker bard and always itching to find something I could shout at and break ...
No one was standing next to it when it broke, however.
If anyone is curious what I ad libbed...
I took a page from the hydraulic torrent spell, and rolled a bull rush (though just gave the tank a +4 modifier for size, nothing else) and applied that to everyone, with a bonus on your CMD the further the water had to go to get to you.
Then I added a DC 12 reflex save, or get knocked over and take 1d4 non lethal damage. Gave Monty and Tad a +2 bonus on this, since they were further away.
That was about it... seemed appropriate enough for government work!

Sad things is, I think this is all stuff an unchained summoner could do as well... They still have invisibility at the same spell level and the spell like summon ability. She's likely quite a few levels above us, though.
EM±GM |
the invis was a potion. That's the big difference maker here.
A druid or wizard would be causing you the same problems... only they'd be able to stack up the summons, instead of one at a time =)
I've been trying to keep her summons thematic, rather then optimal! Wait til I call in the infernal capybaras!
And yes, she is higher level then you guys.
