I'm still pondering purchases, I'll be sure to make the rest of the decisions before the end of this combat and of course not use said items for it :) I don't have Dale's purchases really preplanned so it'll take some thought.

EM±GM |

The part I find humorous, is that the number of foes in this encounter is related to how well you do getting through the previous scenario without drawing attention...
And for those who did really poorly at that, you can have up to a dozen riders and horses in this encounter...
I've no idea how you'd even fit 12 large sized creatures in and have them do anything but get in each other's way.

Taking this out of the Gameplay thread.
Re: PBS and splash damage...
See the FAQ on that very subject.

Hey, it's vacation season! I'm away again. As usual, I'm going to do my best to get online for these games. This is a big vacation, not returning until late night on 11 Sept, so I'm going to be putting more effort during this vacation than I may have during others. As usual, please don't let my absence hold up the game, and bot me as needed!

![]() |

It was a good joke, I enjoyed it.
Also, I found out that if I'm not logged in I can see this campaign listed as inactive on my profile along with all my other old ones. Must have glitched somehow... no response from website feedback about getting it back. I may just have to deal with it, though it's really annoying cause it slows down my posting having to find and manually check the game thread each time. :(

![]() |

No no, perfectly fine. Dale is a character that won't get along with everyone in the least. Think of him as the annoying know it all that doesn't realize how annoying that can be.

![]() |

Hi all; vacation is done, and I am back into the swing of things. Thanks for botting me recently; I didn't have the kind of internet I was hoping to have on the return trip. I'll be catching up and posting in this game shortly. Thanks again!

![]() |

Shoot ah, dang I woke up early but didn't post immediately. Sorry. I'll get one up now then.

![]() |

Tad: You can just sit back and spam the stabilize spell to save fallen allies and its got a range of I think 30'! No rolls or checks needed so long as you aren't being threatened. Its an underused spell, especially since you can do it at range.

Dedicated Adversary is from the Dirty Tactics Toolbox (same as Dirty Fighting - that book is a huge boon for Brawlers!). Archives of Nethys (the link in this post) has the attribution; I don't know why D20PFSRD (the link in my original post) didn't.

![]() |

I had a full day event today at work and have something tonight as well. I can get a post in tomorrow, but I probably can't post today. Saturday and Sunday might also be busy as well.

![]() |

It's that time again! I just can't stop taking vacations, so sorry. :)
I'm going to be hitting the road Thursday afternoon, not returning until Sunday evening. This is a camping trip; if I have internet access while I'm gone, it will only be through my phone. I'll give it a shot, but I don't have high hopes; posts will be very brief if they happen.
Please bot me if I'm holding anything up. I think Brady's combat strategy has become pretty clear (grab an advantageous feat with Martial Flexibility and start punching things.)

EM±GM |

Heh. OK then!
We are approaching the end of this particular chapter in our sordid tale.
Still stuff to do and say, but close enough that I shall start preparing the eventual chronicles.
So, day job rolls for those with such things, and any faction card questions you might have, feel free to ask.
Oh, and also, since this was during Gameday... there is the chance for player boons for all. Will roll those here. (A 19 or 20 means you win something)...
Player Boons?
Brady: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Dale: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Dru: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Faliana: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Monty: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Tad: 1d20 ⇒ 7
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 10
edit: Egads, two winners! Awesome!
I need Drusilla and Monty to roll me a d4
I will submit that number and your email when I report the scenario (I will use the email you gave me for sending chronicles to) ... and apparently they will email you the boon you win (determined by your d4 roll) at some point in the future... I do not know what the options are.

I guess Dale shamelessly profits off of the camp with his alchemical skills!
Craft:Alchemy + Crafter's Fortune: 1d20 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 5 = 26
I'm reading through the Season 8 and Season 9 cards to see what we may have accomplished...
Does that giant thing count for:
Recover a named minor artifact or major artifact during the course of an adventure.
or Julia for:
Recruit a named NPC scholar, knowledgeable spellcaster, or similar figure to the Dark Archive. Recruitment requires a Diplomacy or Knowledge (arcana) check with a DC equal to 15 plus your character level.
or I guess if neither of those... for Season 9 via Faliana:
Participate in a magical or occult ritual during the course of an adventure.

Monty: You forget again, that you trained away your profession skill. You really should update your character sheet =)
Tad: Alas, it was not.
Dale: You can't pick and choose from both years. If you've checked a box on season 8, you can keep using 8. If you have not, you have to use season 9's. Either way, not both.
As for Julia, she's a fighter, don't think she counts.

Oh I hadn't realized. Makes sense since they are so similar. I'll switch over to season 9 since it seems more reasonable to complete and I prefer the 2nd boon in season 9 vs 8.
So does that giant sphere or cube count as an artifact, major or minor for the completion? Otherwise I'll go with the Faliana occult ritual.

That's why I added in a point for hitting level 2! :)

EM±GM |

You know, I was watching Raiders of the Lost Ark yesterday... and realized during the opening sequence, that the little golden idol he replaces with the bag of sand... looked almost exactly like the evil Tik Taan idols from the first scenario =)
It game me a good chuckle.
As for artifacts and such... nothing in the scenario defines them as such... which I think is required for that goal to count, Dale.

EM±GM |

Although still some RP stuff to sort through before I finish the chronicles, I have at least reported the scenario and boons won.
All of you will gain 515 gp and 2 more prestige points.
Dru will be level 3 when we start the next bit (let me know if your init or perception changes, so I can update my cut/paste texts)
Once we get Aspis guys sorted here, I'll work on more transitional posts, to get you all to Nantambu, where the next bit will officially start.
Actually, revisiting the Liberty's Edge faction card goals, that Dru was asking about... the third one might fall into the same general area as what Monty and Faliana are attempting, as far as talking down the Aspis guys, if you want to try it! The more of you talking 'em down the better =)

Hi all, I am back. I'm just checking into Discussion on all of my games at the moment; I will circle back around and catch up in Gameplay before the end of the day today.
Thanks for your patience!

Profession (merchant), Day Job: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
(Due to his success on the Faction Goal, Brady now has the Slush Fund Exchange boon. Not sure if that would apply to this roll or not--and it doesn't matter, because this roll is high--but he now has a min 25 gp from Day Job checks. He also gets reimbursed for living expenses during a scenario, but I don't think we spent any gold that way.)

EM±GM |

Chronicles all sent.
Don't worry about it having the name kind of wrong on there, that's just the way it is in the pdf! (it says Part I, when it should be Part II... the rest of the name is right)
We are now half way done!
Will be starting the next one in short order (though there might be a bit of a time jump (a few months at least, with you guys hanging out in Nantambu)
Got my GM boon for this today too. Yay me.
Though Dru hit level 3... the APL is still only 2, so we'll still be in the low tier.
Though for the 4th scenario, 2 more of you will have leveled.... at which point we might end up in the next tier up (with the 4 player adjustment) if you want. Will cross that bridge-like decision when we get there!
