Hey GM, how're you handling xp for this game? I notice you didn't hand any out when we creamed the robot. Just gonna let us know when we level up and hand-wave the math until then?
Did you guys want experience? I can give you some for doing little things, also.
Or, I can just do the hand-wave thing and level you up at the appropriate time. I'll allow a group consensus for this. Some people really like exp points.

Given that APs are designed with a party of 4 in mind, and there's 5 of us, using xp will eventually screw us over and have us below-level at some point, unless you're upping the challenge by modding the monsters or adding extra ones for more xp. Because of this, I don't mind the hand-wave at appropriate points style.

For future combat, we'll do as Aurusk, of Green Team, suggested.
Characters will be split up before and after the enemy turn and happen as soon as it is posted. Also, I will skip you after a certain amount of time (probably some amount of hours), making any simple rolls, like saves as necessary. You may then jump in at any point so long as it is the same round.
This is to help speed up your group and get you to the meat of the campaign. Hope that sounds good.

Fun and interesting things about the Teams so far…
Team Blue had a discussion about sandwiches. Blue also has a strong pro-tech, anti-tech split. They are low on Wisdom. Most high stats are in Intelligence.
Team Red beat up some townsfolk. Red seems to be mostly pro-technology. Red also seems most likely to attack each other. They are low on Charisma. Most high stats are in Intelligence.
Team Green hit the repair drone the most. Team Green is all from Numeria, if not Torch. They are low on Wisdom. Most high stats are in Charisma.

On the loot subject: neither I as a player, or Chakos as a character are particularly hung up on the nuances of completely equitable loot distribution. If we find things party members can use, then let them. We'll equalize it with the sellable stuff. Consumables are party items, with some exceptions. Adventuring is a team sport.
Chakos may be wary of this techno-garbage though

I say behind, the woman will bring possible reinforcements and they will come to us eventually.I split up because I thought it would be fine. Next time I will play more by the rules.

Ouch, Chakos, that -4 to hit from nonproficiency really stings. You're multiclassing into pally next level, right?
Wanna use my dagger until then? I hit harder with my fists if I get in a grapple or the like anyway.
Chakos Hyluan |
My second level is Paladin, so yes the problem will be fixed then.
There's no way around certain problems when multiclassing!
I'd prefer to not meta and use the dagger, but rather to stick with the axe and take the penalty until we reach 2nd level.
Chakos Hyluan |
At least I survived level 1, and now my to hit with the stupid axe goes up by 5!!!
At level 3 my build starts coming together, even moreso at 5, 7, and 10!
Chakos Hyluan |
@Demon - So how are the mooks in the other 2 parties doing? They make level 2 yet? Keep the regular cross table talk going, albeit no spoilers obviously!

Where did we find the fully charged silverdisk?
Incidentally, for future clarity:
There are three grades of batteries/silverdisks. I've been following the thread where quite a bit of confusion relating the terminology has been clarified.
Charged battery
Discharged battery
Broken battery <-- only these are called silverdisks, and they are mechanically equivalent to platinum pieces.
So to be precise, there's no such thing as a charged silverdisk, because silverdisks are specifically the broken batteries that are effectively platinum pieces. A charged thing (or a discharged but still functional, i.e. able to be recharged) is a battery.
Hope I'm not coming off as too nitpicky but the terminology confused me quite a bit until I got it straight.

Might as well also sell the tiny sword, as that's useless to any of us, and the hand crossbow since it is exotic to all but Sneek, except it's too big for him. If the bolts are universally sized, Sneek should get them, since he's the only one I've seen shoot a crossbow so far, but if they're medium size specific, unless you ladies use a crossbow, might as well add them to the sell pile.
What are the brown cards?
I'm going to go ahead and level up.
I second the question of "How are we handling HP for level-up after 1st?"
Argug of Clan Gutwrencher |
GM, can I, instead of getting a MW weapon, get MW armor spikes fitted on my chain shirt? It should be the same cost value. I can leave my chain shirt behind if I have to...I still have my standard studded leather from before we found the shirt.
The greataxe isn't something I can flurry with, and most of the weapons I can flurry won't be as good as my unarmed attack will be by level 4. I figure at least armor spikes will be useful if I get in a grapple, which, with my martial flexibility, may well happen.
Also, how do you rule brass knuckles work with brawlers/monks? Some GMs rule that they scale, since they're supposed to just do lethal unarmed damage, but some hold strictly to the 1d3 (which is the usual unarmed damage with unarmed strikes if you are not a monk or brawler). The reason I ask is if they do scale, I would like to ASAP invest in a silver set and a cold iron set.

I would like a MW Light crossbow please

hp is either rolled or half hit dice. also add your con modifier.
I read about silverdisks and a little about the knuckles. For tech people, batteries are charged silverdisks and "silverdisks" are dead batteries. They look the same. A silvery metal coin with circuits that glow slightly blue if there is a charge. I will use that terminology from now on.
I think the intent for brass knuckles is to increase the damage a little so you if you use knuckles it goes from 1d6 to 1d7.
Chakos Hyluan |
You mean half hit dice, and not half +1?
So I'm to add 117gp to my score?
Before dinner tonight.
Still level 1 for the hooyah gambling vent tonight's.
