As Anasrianna's acquiesced and her mount, Brightscale, heeded your instruction and lay down on the deck, Rain watched the creature with some curiosity before moving to the locker and claiming the Zul trident for her own. She held it in her hand (grateful for the protection of the amulet she wore), felt the weight of it and contemplated its affect against human foes. It would not aid them much against Sahuagin or the other races, but they did come across many a human crew on the vessels sailing the Shackles and in the towns where they stopped for supplies.

"This will make a fine addition to my weapons", she mused quietly aloud. And stowed Zul so it would not appear as if she were threatening either Anasrianna or Brightscale.

Typing that female's name (and checking the spelling) is going to be a pain. lol Imm, can we give her a nickname? ;)

Definitely. I figured you all would just call her Ana.

Once in a more private setting, she looks at you all and begins her tale. My name is Anasrianna. I have lived my life in the Mwangi Expanse among the massive saurian beasts that roam those jungles. Born of a Wood Elf and an archon of some note among the celestial plane, I have lived there all my life. As Brightscale and I were hunting a pack of jungle goblins that were threatening the local population of Compsognathus, I looked upon a pool of still water. I was transfixed and images began to assault me. I saw this ship, the Dread Lady, sailing into a sea of infinite stars. I saw, Dhaavan of Clan Idolis, opening a rift in space and time. I saw myself, returning him to life in his true form. I saw all of you standing against an encroaching darkness that was poised to swallow all of Golarion. I saw a myriad of signs, which are hard to remember now, that will lead us on the proper path to be able to have a chance of saving this world. She looks around at your stunned faces and smiles, No pressure right?

Perhaps you should allow me to bring the good Dhaavan back, that way he can have input into this discussion. I suspect that he may have even more information than I.

Horatio listens to her speak and pauses to cup his hands around a smoke and lights it up thoughtfully. Naturally he's heard of many unusual tales from the Mwangi Expanse when he lived in Sargava, but this one was certianlly unique.

He draws in a long tug from the smoke; for now less interested in the distribution of wealth until the Dhaavan was raised and once again back among them.

He blows a stream of smoke out his nostrils and nods.

"Sure thing; I'll go fetch the body," he says and goes to get Dhaavan's body and then gently lays it on the deck before her.

"We are honored by your aid, m'lady," he says, tipping his forelock to her, then he stands up.

"Please let us know what we need to do for you to bring him back to the living," he says leaning back and watching her.

"I got no problem with that. If you're wiling to help our friend, then do what you got to do," he says, gesturing to the spell components and holy symbol.

Unless someone doesn't want her to have them, I'm guessing she can take them and bring Dhaavan back.

He studies her for a long moment as he takes another draw from his smoke, his eyes neutral and he examines her features thoughtfully, but says nothing else as he waits for her to do what she's going to do.

Anasrianna has Dhaavan brought and laid on a table on deck, stating that the ceremony needs to be performed outdoors. Leaning down she begins to chant while painting runes in a strange language on his body. She draws forth a bottle of glowing golden oil and begins to anoint his body, each time she touches him, that spot begins to radiate a pale light. Once she seems to have completed her task with the oil she pauses and asks you to bring a mirror or pool of water, anything reflective but as big as you have. Once you bring it she asks several of you to hold it above his body facing him.

The chanting intensifies over the course of the next 30 minutes as wind begins to pick up and the water around the boat draws in, almost as if everything is being pulled to this one point. The wind gets more and more violent as she chants. Looking at the mirror, you begin to see Dhaavan's reflection fade and an image appears. Dhaavan is looking down at you, a brilliant starscape at his back. Far above his head, a fell moon shines a terrible light through. You get feelings of dread, despair and hopelessness. The feeling subsides when you look away.

As the chanting reaches its crescendo, the hair on your arms and heads begins to fly up, as if static electricity were building on a massive scale. All of a sudden, a bolt of lightning falls from a clear blue sky and strikes the mirror and Dhaavan, shattering the mirror into dust. After covering your eyes from the explosion you look down and see Dhaavan...or at least the new Dhaavan, very much alive.

Dhaavan, you can explain what you look like now if you want.

"Well, how do you feel?" he asks the young sorcerer before him.

May change my pic around a bit till I decide

Before you stands a taller man than the one that died almost recognizable, but alien. His skin now Alabaster glows in the sunlight, once raven hair is Onyx black. The youth of the first mate is gone, his features hardened, muscle tightened leaving, instead, an man of ageless countenance. His eyes burn bright gold with light.

As the dust settles and blindness of the explosion fades, the statuesk man regards you all, face hard as cold steel. He reaches down and picks up a bright red piece of coral lying on the floor at his feet, where the corpse lay. He looks at it for a moment, then he lips part and he cracks the grin that only Dhaavan can throw around. Well, well, well, what have we here? he reaches out looks at his hands flexes his fingers, making a fist, looking at his arms. He touches his face, chin follows and touches his new pointy ears, Heh, that's new He sniffs, and his expression is thrown off for a moment before he brightens. It's good to finally meet you. I owe you one. he says to Anasrianna.

All of you, it's GREAT to see you! So how do I look huh? If I look even half as good as I feel, then I certainly still got it, Horatio? He throws a wink at Anasrianna with a smirk.

"Will you stay with us... at least long enough to share a meal, if not longer? it is the least we can do." He bows again and slips over to Variel's side and speaks to him softly...

"Variel-sama, we should have a special meal tonight, not just the officers but the whole crew.. perhaps a tot of something special to drink AFTER repairs are completed for the night that is. It is a time for celebration... clear heads to be sure as well, so only a single share each perhaps, but something to mark the day! What say you?"

Rain's eyes keenly took in the Dhaavan's changed appearance - Noting that his disposition had remained the same. The group was, again, whole.

"Taller suits you, sorcerer. Welcome back."

To the mystical Anasrianna, she inclined her head in thanks. "You have restored our companion, Ana. Aye, we must recompense you for your service."

Rain's mind was full of concern regarding the ship and their intention to return to the underwater caves on the morrow and search for the hidden chamber. She would not dampen Jiro's excitement as he quietly requested a celebration later in the evening, so she kept her thoughts and concerns to herself. The crew had worked hard repairing and protecting the ship and the officers worked hard bringing down the Krelloort and his concubines. A celebration was not undesirable -- she was simply too caught up in the day's events to feel the excitement...

Since Rain is standing right beside Variel, I felt she would have heard Jiro's talk of celebration to him ...

Variel looks on as the ritual commences as he tries to figure out exactly what is going on and what this true identity is about. Ancient names held power he knew that but never before had he heard of a true form for a human mortal. Still if Dhaavan came back then he would welcome the chance.

Variel was not ready for the explosion of the mirror nor the lightning strike upon Dhaavan's body. The electricity altered the body there was no question about that. Gone was the Dhaavan of youthful exuberance that tried to woo a sorceress on the Wormwood. Instead here was a man of experience. Just then the man talked and it sounded like Dhaavan even if it wasn't his look. It would take some getting used to but Variel smiled faintly in appreciation of Ana bringing him back. Thank you for your service but I believe there is a lot of explaining to do by both you and Dhaavan. I know I have questions but that can wait till after Dhaavan recovers a bit first. Do you need to rest after such an ordeal?

Variel hears Jiro's request and ponders it briefly. Jiro I think that is an excellent idea but I would wait to see it done tomorrow. The hull has to be repaired after the cannon blasts, the rudder is not completely fixed yet and we still have a section of the caves to explore. Not to mention that we could dive to see if we can bring those cannons up from the depths and affix to our ship. As a compromise perhaps the passing of rum tonight with the promise and expectation of a celebratory meal tomorrow. That way as well Ambrose can prepare it well enough ahead of time and the crew can look forward to the night's festivities.

Amen-set should have returned with Adular; yes. She had been eager to chat with the new NPC and see Dhaavan alive.

Meanwhile, after some of the reactions from her spells usage, diplomacy checks and trying to aid people in possible combat, I've been seriously considering her position on the ship and am in the process of figuring out to do with her - I'm hoping that the GM will give me some feedback about that via the questions I've asked him earlier this evening.

EDIT: I'll have something up from her soon!

Okay, thanks for the clarification, Flynn.

Rain looked across at the recently returned Amen-set, wondering what the girl would think of the recently raised Dhaavan, now his face and form were not what they were. The girl was not fickle in her emotions -- far from it -- Amen-set had more passion than any she had known. Yet, this would be a surprise to anyone ... and this was the man she loved.

"Come, join us, Amen-set. Dhaavan is returned."

Variel stood by Rain with his arm casually draped around her as the words sank in about the gods themselves worried. It is as Horation says, no sense on brooding on it now. We can only take this one step at a time. He then gives a low laugh as he looks at everyone. As if ninja assassins, Captain Harrigan, 4-armed sahuagin chiefs, pirates, Chelaxian pirate hunters and who knows what else is against us. We also have to save the world and possibly even the gods as well. Very well, if that is what it takes to eventually find out my heritage then that is what I will have to. Looking at the others, Are all of you still in this to the end?

Rain felt the warmth and strength of Variel's arm about her and sank just a little into the embrace (quickly relishing in the comfort) as this was not the time nor place for anything more.

At his question, she turned in his embrace and pledged earnestly, "I am, to the end."

Amen-set follows Adular back to the ship; her movements through the air are more clumsy than his through the water. However, when she has returned to the ship she watches the newcomer raise Dhaavan from the dead, his mortal flesh changing into the new shape before him.

She says nothing at this time, but merely watches in silent reflection, standing close to no one at this point; her eyes moving from the caster to gaze occasionally at the reptilian creature near them, and then flicking to Neko, as if she assumes that the golden cat is intimately involved in the dealings with spirits and death.

When Dhaavan is awake and tells them of his tale, she says nothing for a while; her eyes focused mainly on his new form, as if appraising him carefully.

Rain Taneththir wrote:
"Come, join us, Amen-set. Dhaavan is returned."

Her eyes widen in some surprise at being acknowledged and she smiles a little at Rain, then moves forward to Dhaavan and peers hard at his face, her left hand on her hip and her right hand reaching to touch him tentatively.

”Your mortal flesh has changed, I deem; but I see within you the same spirit as before.”

”Your wit is sharp, your mind keen, and your heart strong. The one who slew you is dead and his body cut into a thousand pieces and scattered below the pine dark waves. Would that I had been there with you I would have given my life to halt your passing; failing that, I would have let the one who slew you live, if only to make him beg for death,” she says with a soft, intimate voice; yet one that is filled with a unwavering sincerity.

”You speak of fell deeds and war between the Heavens and Underworld, perhaps, and the place we shall play in these divine battles. I tell you truly that my heart yearns for such things – to fight such battles with such deadly odds… Aye, indeed, for live or die, what does it matter? Even if we should perish we shall become legend and our efforts shall live forever,” she says, her voice somewhat louder, as she turns somewhat from Dhaavan to speak to the others.

Then she turns to the newcomer and folds her arms over her chest, placing her palms on her breast and then Amen-set drops to a knee before her.

”You have brought him back; there is a bond of blood between us and I shall not forget it,” she says to Anasrianna with a sincere voice.

Rain caught Amen-set's small smile and returned it from her position by Variel's side. She watched as the girl moved closer and touched Dhaavan's new-formed face and spoke to him. The girl had fire, for certain, and she did not waver. Amen-set's heart was that of a warrior's.

Rain waited until she had finished her reverence and pledge to Ana before quietly adding, "You will have time to fight, little sister, beside us, as we plunge into this new destiny of ours."

Variel likewise lets Amen-set have her time with Dhaavan. Her ways were not his ways. She wore her emotions for all to see while he kept his pulled back in order to use reason. Something Dhaavan said though struck him.

Variel peers into Dhaavan's eyes as he spoke, Wait, what deal did you make with them?

Horatio nods and takes back the proffered drink and moves aside so that Dhaavan can speak more clearly to the others.

"Well, I'm glad you're feeling better then," he says after a moment and slips the flask back into his hip pouch.

Then he does what he can to get out of the way of the conversation between the others. As he does so, he pauses and studies Anasrianna for a moment, looking into her eyes for a long moment.

"My lady, you brought back a friend of mine; you have my thanks for that and I'm in your debt," he says to her, he says studying her for a long moment.

Dhaavan's words of a deal had caught her attention, as well, and Rain was glad when Variel spoke up and asked the question. "I think we'd all like to hear about this deal since we will be involved in this prophecy." Her voice was low and steady ... even though she was keen to know what was promised to the gods.

Amen-set looks at Rain, and her eyes flick to Horatio, studying his face and the hard set of his jaw.

She turns back to Rain.

”You know that I am always eager to stand at your side and spill the blood our enemies and thus feel that sweet ecstasy which ripples from our sword-arms to our hearts,” she says with a matter-of-fact voice as she speaks to Rain, her gaze clear.

Then she turns her gaze to stare at Dhaavan and this new caster, then she looks at the others and finally turns back to Rain again.

”Yet I tell ye truly senet; I am loathe to stand as ally to any that willfully reject my friendship,” she says with a tight voice.

She then turns to look at Horatio thoughtfully again, and then her gaze moves to Anasrianna and a sudden small frown is on her face.

”Meanwhile, such conversation on deep policy and high purposes truly matters little to me, except that it affords us the chance to die as legends. Instead, I would see myself as naught but as a falcon; show me an enemy and I shall fly forward and slay it or else die in the attempt.”

She presses her hand firmly against Rain’s sword arm and squeezes it affectionately.

Well, when I was dead, and I met the goddess, she asked me if I'd help with this whole..."End of the World"... thing. And that If i didn't want in, I could just go to H... the afterlife. So I told her I'd rather come back. So yeah, I told her you all would probably hop on board that ship soon as you heard about it, destiny and responsibility and all that, but didn't promise anything. Just took her up on the offer to hitch a ride back to my boat. he tells the crew. Nothing else, just that he already agreed to what they all basically accepted as their fates already, before the spell.

Amen-set's vow and her bold declaration surprised Rain as she had not entirely expected the overture -- yet, the pilot inwardly chuckled for it should not have surprised her at all. This is how passion spoke - swiftly and definitively. This was Amen-set, for good or worse. The others did not know the girl, like she did (well, maybe Flynn knew her better, for she was his ward afterall).

Feeling the affectionate pressure of Amen-set's fingers on her arm (the girl could move nimbly!), she answered her in steady voice, "None can deny your conviction, Amen-set. I have accepted your friendship and will continue in the endeavour; wherever it shall lead us."

Rain then turned her attention back to Dhaavan as he recounted his deal with the goddess and simply nodded in response, content enough with his answer.

Rain, gently/politely disengaging Amen-set's hand from her arm and slipping from under Variel's arm, found her pack and removed the small steel mirror she carried with her and walked over and handed it to Dhaavan so he could look upon his new form.

Thankee, kindly, Rain. Dhaavan says with a grateful bow, and takes a look, I appreciat- his smile quickly freezes and turns to a scrutinizing stare.

No. No, no, no. . . This is too much, Dhaavan says, taken aback by the signt. He turns on Anasrianna, smiling almost manic Did you see this coming? Her smile fades as she recalls the time with him on the beach.

”More than watching your flesh I did; as the priest who sails with you could report, as he saw the results. ”Your new flesh is not unbecoming,” she says with a somewhat exploratory voice, and her lips suddenly quirk in a small smile.
