After your last few exploits with the Blakros family, and their famous museum, they have discovered a new subbasement below, and have begun to explore it. Inside, Nigel has discovered some sort of odd portal, and with the help of a Pathfinder Anumet Akrostera, the two had begun to research what that might mean. Now you have gotten word that Anumet has vanished, and some sort of new curse has been unleashed. Duty calls once more.

Having investigated, you have discovered that Anumet was murdered very recently, and is likely not the being that Nigel saw acting strangely. Heading to the Forae Logos to look for clues, you are unsure about you next step.

Stuck! But within range of the enemy.

The tribesman struggles toward the enemy through the clinging webs. After a couple steps, his feet have become completely entangled in the sticky strands, but he is close enough to strike out regardless.

Realized I should have been rolling 1d6+4 with his power attacks earlier, instead of 1d6+3. I moved some points from Int to Str at the last minute, it's been on his sheet but I forgot to update the Offense block.

Morvius shoots another arrow, but it misses, while Grace gets out of the but fails to hit with her heavenly-powered flame. Kurvast moves up, getting caught within the webs, but still within range and attacks, landing a good blow on the monster. Virgil holds back for now, as Darvan and Sahba advance on the offensive. Sahba gets caught int he flameing webs, which hinder her ability to bite. Mur manages to bypasse the webs, and gets into position to attack for next round.

Not liking being surrounded, the sorcerer reverts to tooth and claw for now.

Also, all of the squares that where on fire are now extinguished, and they are now free squares (having burned away the webs in those squares). I'm going to leave them on the map as they are, but from now on, there is neither fire or webbing in those squares, and you can move through them without danger.

The ranger lines up again and fires, his arrow sailing over the tiny saurian and slipping between Kurvast and Darvan before it hits the undead menace.

Stopping to gather her wits, Grace realizes that she's just been running around like crazy. Taking a deep breath, she focuses her energy, standing calmly in the fray with her arms held to her side. As she opens her eyes, a dim azure light shines forth weakly, and ethereal tendrils of blue energy slowly snake forth to grab at the air around her now clenched hands.

Focusing her gaze on the undead threat before her, she shouts a warning, "You will not open a portal to the areas between the stars that stare back, you vile creature!" She then releases a globule of glimmering blue energy that takes on a solid black shape before reaching the floor behind the Devourer, splashing apart into a puddle of Grease.

Nice. I also updated the map, replacing the stuff from earlier and hopefully making it easier to understand.

Refl: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Struggling with the common tongue a bit, the creature looks at Grace, "I. . . will devour. . . thine. . . soul tiny. . . celestialling."

He doesn't go down, but is still within the grease, and can't really go anywhere else without risking falling and provoking.

Kurvast is up, followed by the rest.

I'll try to remember to note each round whether Kurvast will attempt to parry or not. I didn't want him to this time, since with only 1 panache he couldn't riposte afterwards.

The tribesman growls in agony as the creature's rotten teeth tear at his flesh. His ire raised, Kurvast would not now retreat even if his feet were not stuck to the floor.

"Hur-GRAH!"

With a wordless shout, he stabs again at the undead mage.

Rapier: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 2 = 7

Having taken one hit already, he will try to parry if attacked this round, but still won't be able to riposte if successful.

Shadow Lodge

Darvan and Sahba tar the creature limb from limb, Darvan's magically enhanced club nearly cleaving it's head off completely, while Sahba goes in for the final kill. It drops lifelessly, and then quickly begins to crumble away to dust, it's existence in undeath far, far surpassing it's long ago mortal life.

Within it's tattered robes, you locate the missing Key, a scroll case with the same designs as those on the door to Ralzeros’s magical chamber, the Ineffable Pattern. There is no obvious way to open the case, and the thing is made of a durable copper-colored metal equivalent in strength to mithral. It emits no magical aura and seems impossible to use in conjunction with the portal in the Blakros Museum, though it is clear the two objects were made for one another.

Also taking as many of the scrolls and other charms in the room that you can carry and not ruin in the trip back, you make your way back to the grand Lodge.

After your debriefing, exiting the Venture Captain's chambers, a host of the local Pathfinders outside raise a glass, or nod at you, recognizing you for your deeds. They say nothing, but the simple gestures are enough.

Later, Nigel comes by, in a rare visit outside of the museum to thank you personally. He comments that the Blakros Matriarch was somewhat displeased with the Society for causing some much damage to the museum, but he reminded her of your past deeds and help to the family, and was able to smooth things out, and return you to her, and the family's good graces.
