FYI guys I know my posts have slowed down a bit lately.

Here's what's going on.

Right now we have a staffing shortage at my workplace, and I have been pulling extra shifts. This has left me pretty tired and worn out. I also expect to be training some new hires soon (though I'm not sure when), and since I do most of my posts from work it is unlikely I will be able to post much on those days, but we don't have a schedule for that person yet, so I don't yet know which days I am doing that, and I may not end up knowing until I arrive for my shift. So since I may not have any warning I'm letting you guys know now. The training will probably be spread over three days.

After that I am leaving for a much needed Vacation on September 30th. I expect to have internet access, so I should be able to post in that period, though it may be a bit irregular.

Sorry for any problems this might cause, and if I don't respond in a reasonable time bot me as needed. Things should be back to normal for me in mid-October.

Well went in for a colonoscopy. found I have very high blood pressure and ended up on meds for that, and need to reschedule my procedure. all that prep for nothing :(

now I talked to my mom about family history of medical stuff, she has low potassium and magnesium, I may have that since that can cause high blood pressure.

looks like I can take supplements instead of meds, will have to talk to doctor first though.

Ok so I looking over the Starfinder rules.

I am liking the mechanic class.

So I couple the Mechanic class with the Scholar theme specialized in Physical sciences (class skill for the Mechanic) (field of temporal science, maybe?)

at level 1 I would get the Artificial Intelligence with a drone, that looks like this

Also at level 1 you get a "Custom Rig" maybe something like this?

Ha ha. I would have gone David Tennant, but Tom Baker is a good choice too. Now you just need to build the Time Lord race... kind of like Samsarans, but no blue skin, and perfect recall, two hearts, and probably something like +6 int, +6 con. :)

Two hearts would probably be a fortification kind of ability since your heart is not where people expect.

I would say his Int is standard. He isn't necessarily smarter than everyone (he's always calling his companions "brilliant" or "fantastic" or some such), but I totally agree with a +con and I would suggest a +wis to account for his ability to put 2 and 2 together to get 6. Add in a stacking 25% fortification because not every crit is to the chest and I think you're getting close.

Ha ha. We should have a Time Lord game. :) Although, I suppose it might get boring, saving the world over and over again.

We would have to build out the bad guys too cybermen, daleks, weeping, angels, etc. And then we need Companions, and other Time Travelers. Maybe someone from the Sisterhood of Karn ... Of course, that is a lot of races and monsters to build.

Daleks and Cybermen could both be based on Androids perhaps--Daleks truly evil and glorying in hatred, but Cybermen could just be deluded, believing that lack of emotion is good for the people they are upgrading. I don't know about Weeping Angels though... constructs?

on the plus side, my blood pressure is lower, still high but lower than before and I lost about 4 pounds (2 kg, 0.2 stones)

... also, if you guys want to say that you saw her drop the necklace in, that is okay. We can have a big drama event tonight at camp, when she admits to actually being a greedy smuggler at heart. :) I think I am going to go right *before* Kayla's revelation though. :)

EDIT: This is also hilarious. One of my other characters has a drawback, or maybe an oracle curse, since I don't see it in drawbacks right now, that is kind of a greedy thing, where you have to wear nicer and nicer clothing and jewels each level. That is NOT the reason that Zadira does... that is just a trait. However, I keep getting them confused because they both have to wear jewelry all the time, so Zadira didn't start out as greedy as all that, but I kept getting them mixed up, so in order not to, I just had to make Zadira sort of greedy/addicted to treasure as well. Don't worry though, this is just story flavor stuff. As a player, I promise to pay everyone back. Not trying to be the horrible player that steals from the party, at all.

A friend is running Kingmaker, and they already have a Slayer, Wizard, Witch, Cleric (Undead Lord), and mayyybe a Paladin.

The only things I can think of to build are either a melee beatstick (a little boring to play, and possibly covered by the Paladin), or a Bard (since they have most everything else locked down, and I've never played one before).

Have any of you guys played Kingmaker? Or played a bard? Any suggestions?

I play bards all the time. Go for the arrowsong minstrel bard, and be an archer than can also cast spells. It's fun.

I've only played the first two battles of a kingmaker game, and then it died. That first part was fun though. :)

Have a character in applying to a game now (here on the boards), but the recruitment is pretty popular, so no idea if I will get in.

Ooh, that does look like a fun archetype! Losing bardic knowledge is harsh though.

Only harsh if that's what you want to be a bard for. If you just want the magic, then it doesn't matter. :)

I like that there are more skill points than sorcerer, that you get heal *and* arcane spells, and then you can shooty-shoot things too. :) It's a pretty good pick if you want to be flexible and do a lot of different stuff instead of just being good in one area.

My character Cuddles the loveable orc had a stint in kingmaker. It was fun while it lasted, but you need a really dedicated team (GM included) to pull it off well and stave off game death.
