Amorial Suth |
Amorial nods to the Ogier and does not bother to respond. He glances around and assumes that this Tsoran is not around any longer it appears that Lord Sneed is his Master better this strange Noble than a Darkfriend. Can I mkae a Knowledge roll to see if I have ever heard of this Lord Sneed?
Amorial pokes his head inside and asks the employees for a few jugs of water and bandages to clean his wounds. Then he sits down in the garden to consider all that he has learned from this recent encounter.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
hi everyone. Been a hectic week. Daughter in hospital for the past few days. And now no internet at work. If not tonight then tomorrow I will have something posted. That said, I will say that you all arrive at the great tree in 10 min after amorials combat. So you stumble upon amorial finishing the cleanup of blood on the floor.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
my daughter is doing well. thank you for the support
ok...here we go
amorial. Yes, go ahead and make a knowledge nobility check
amorial, taking a liberty with your PC
As pleasantries are exchanged, and people fall in with like minded individuals, the trek back to the Great Tree inn is one that brings a sort of missing comfort; the knowledge that there are others like you out on a quest for something brings about a sense of contentment.
Stepping in through the grand entrance, everyone stops suddenly; those in the back bumping into those in the front. The party spreads out and views an odd sight.
An Ogier, on hands and knees, scrubs at the wooden floor. In his hands is a large lump of rags and a soap bar. Scrubbing viscously at the wooden floor, his loud rumbles in disgust sound like boulders falling down the mountain side.
Turning to look at the large group, everyone is dismayed to see tears streaming down his face.
Its beginning to stain the treesung wood. The blood. Ogier blood is staining Ogier wood. This is horrific. The Elders will be furious, not only with him, but with myself as well. As well as they should be... He pauses, his eyes growing distant as he peers through you, towards something far and distant. Tears stream stronger from his eyes as he turns his gaze upon the floor. Ogier killing Ogier. Such a thing hasn't happened in... in.. I cannot recall of an Ogier EVER taking another Ogier's life.
Picking up the soap again, he leans over the large blood stain, and proceeds to scrub at the impossible.
Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel |
Rhoekk rushes to Amorial's side, one hand reflexively moving to raise his veil into place.
"Friend Alantin, what happened here?"
His eyes scan the entryway, first looking for danger, then trying to take in every possible detail, his analytical mind trying to reconstruct what happened here.

Amorial Suth |
Down 23 close to half!
"I was sitting in the garden trying to connect the dots of our puzzle when a human came out to talk to me. Tsoran was his name. An unusual man, he had with him two Ogier who sought to retrieve the weapon we found at the library. As I began to reprimand them for their rudeness they threatened me and drew blades on me. I was forced to slay one. I kiilled an Ogier Friend Rhoekk, one of my own people. They denied me, called me Fallen and claimed that all Ogier had failed in their mission. I must contemplate on this further but first I must clean this blood it cannot be allowed to remain here a second longer".
Amorial is clearly perturbed as he does not even ask about the rest of the newcomers who accompanied his friends to the inn.
Glad your daughter is feeling better Rizzen! Excellent opening scene, it is exactly what Amorial would have done.
A'Mar of House Issola |
All things change, Friend Ogrier, the Last Battle approaches; Shadow touches everywhere and the Dragon......Peace favor you Builder, till the last of days serve the Light. Peace.
[/ooc] A'mar scans those inside for threats to Tesliin and sees about the room as posted earlier [/ooc]
Tesliin
This unexpected turn of Ogier has shaken A'mar a lot, sadness and hopelessnes, then anger and resolve through the link.
Alathea Sedai |
Alathea halts behind Ryland, sharing his surprise at the presence of an Ogier. She is no ignorant farmgirl to think the Ogier myth, at least not any longer: but while her studies at the White Tower had of course touched on the Ogier and she had even seen a few of them from far off, to see one so close was something else altogether. And he was wounded, as if he'd been in a fight for his life!
Unsure of what to do, she hesitates before preparing to Heal the giant, but in her delay the strange Aes Sedai gathers the One Power and begins to wrap the Ogier in the familiar weaves of Delving and Healing. Mildly disappointed, Alathea holds back with Ryland. In a voice low enough for only Ryland to hear, she breathes, "Light, but I had never thought to see that, yes?
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Fia halts with her companions, watching as the new Aes Sedai begins to work on the huge Ogier. She is unsure how to help, and so rocks on her heels beside Alathea and waits for Tesliin to finish her weaving.
Jasmine Raleen |
Jasmine purses her lips and wrinkles her nose in disgust at the scene. An Ogier scrubbing blood off the floor that he spilled just doesn't seem to fit in how the world is supposed to work.
This way A'mar. Jasmine says. Hustling the group into the private dining room, Jasmine turns and locks the door behind them before weaving a ward of silence around the room. We are warded and can speak freely.
A'Mar of House Issola |
Peace Ogrier; it saddens my heart, but this wound once struck will never heal again; what has been done cannot be undone; come, join us, let others finish this as we mourn the dead, what is lost, and what has been stolen by Shadow. You could stay and scrub through the floorboard yet for naught; come away and share with us while Light yet remains in the world, Peace is found by those that strive for it continually
Alathea Sedai |
Alathea is relieved to be out of the open streets and safely back at the Great Tree. Despite the still early hour, the events of the day--the ominous disappearance of the seamstress, Jasper's sacrifice to protect her, the trouble with the Children of the Light--have conspired to make her feel like she's been sleepless for days. Wanting nothing more than to go to sleep, she instead helps to take Jasper to his room and bed. She stays only long enough to weave a Delving about him (using a level 1 weave), reassuring herself that he is as well as can be expected. Only after she's sure that he's resting comfortably does she go to the room that A'Mar has requisitioned.
After knocking at the door and waiting for a few moments without response (a ward of silence works both ways, doesn't it?), Alathea hesitantly opens the door and pokes her head in. Seeing her companions, she quickly slips into the room and stands unobtrusively by the wall, silent but alert.
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Fia glances up as Alathea tentatively enters the room, smiles, and gestures at the chair beside her. She is so timid lately. I do not understand. Does she no longer see herself?
I am called Fiallain, honored builder, and you are? she states simply in response to Amorial's question.
Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel |
Rhoekk enters the private dining chamber silently, quickly walking the perimeter and eyeing the room for any spots vulnerable to eavesdropping or infiltration. Once he has noted any such vulnerabilities he settles into a corner, ignoring the chairs, and settles on his haunches in the Aiel fashion, crouched and ready for action, a spear held casually in one hand. Even crouched, he is still likely as tall as some of the Aes Sedai.
Perception to note features of the room: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Amorial Suth |
"I am Amorial Suth Fiallain, may you find water and shade", Amorial smiles at Fiallain revealing a set of teeth that look like they could rip apart a wild boar.
"Tell me, how have you and yours come to be in the presence of my friends?"
RIZZENMAGNUS |
RIZZENMAGNUS |
A maid directs the party to a large room that is set off from the main eating hall. Larger than a private dinning hall, but smaller than a grand hall, this room is easily able to accomodate the enlarged party.
A large table sits in the middle of this room, with plush red chairs dotted with copper rivets line the long sides of the table, and scattered at equal distances along the walls.
This room has several narrow windows at the top where the walls meet the ceiling, large enough for a man to squeeze in. Mounted on the ceilings are large fans, similar to the one found in the back garden. They spin at an steady pace, producing a slight breeze in the room, giving the illusion of being cooler than the temperature implies.
Alathea Sedai |
Alathea returns Fiallain's smile and, after a moment's more hesitation, takes the chair that her friend has offered.
Although the Ogier's introduction is not directed towards her, Alathea smiles and nods graciously to Amorial, but leaves it to Fiallain to explain their presence.
Jasmine Raleen |
Jasmine looks on the scene, content to let Fiallain take the lead as she was the one addressed, and seems to have some rapport with their new acquaintances. That said, she still wards the room against eavesdropping as she did before.
RIZZENMAGNUS |
Jasmine Raleen |
Are we all in the room now? I am a little confused as to the scene.
...and holy bajeezus that is a high dc. 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
damn! Just missed it lol.
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Fia glances cautiously towards Jasmine and Alathea, then towards Tesliin. When none say anything, she gives a wry twist of her mouth. I am not sure I should be the one telling this. I don't know what side of their tower this other one is on, or her business here - what pittraps may lay hidden. Tell what seems the safest and if they wish more said they will have to chime in.
After taking a second to compose her thoughts, she turns back to Amorial. We arrived in the city but recently with the Car'a'carn and his 'retinue'. My companions and I were out and about the city, taking in the sights and running errands when I noticed a commotion nearby. It seems a band of these whitecloaks decided to take offense at your friends. As things seemed a bit one-sided, I stepped in to scold these children. Perhaps they have been sufficiently cowed for now, though I suspect some of them may desire a dance someday. At any rate, my people, Rhoekk here included, happened luckily to be near and sent them away. We were on our way here anyway, and since it seems both parties were staying here, we headed this way to meet... and discuss things. Her gaze swings lightly to Jasmine and she arches her brow slightly.
Amorial Suth |
Amorial nods at Fiallain's explanation. "I hail from Stedding Tsofu. My companions and I are together doing some research regarding the Age of Legends. No time like the preset to learn about the past when it seems to be coming alive before our very eyes no? I have spent a human's lifetime wandering around Cairhien making and breaking alliances with various noble families. I will need to think long and hard about what to do next as the troubles we have run into involve some nobles whom I know nothing about. Tell me, do any of you know a Lord Sneed?"
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Fia fights to keep scorn for the Cairhien from her voice as she shakes her head. "No, I know little of these treekillers or their lords. Jasmine or Alathea may have heard the name though?"
Joliar Belthoval |
Joliar sits quietly in a chair watching the others talk, his face a bland mask hiding the raging torrent of saidin that flowed through him. One was bad enough but managable, but now he was apparently in a room with 3 Aes Sedai. And one of the Aiel Wise Ones. Regardless of what was sworn to the Lord Dragon, he knew he could never truly trust these women.
Fiallain Bo'airr |
So, Who is this Lord Sneed and why would he be causing trouble for you, especially when accompanied by an Aes Sedai? she asks after a slight pause. She looks curiously over at Tesliin. It seems rash of him to openly oppose the White Tower, if that is what he is doing.
Alathea Sedai |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Alathea shakes her head in response to Fiallain's question. "Although I have come to Cairhein before, I have not dealt with the great and powerful in this city. My talents lie elsewhere, yes? I am afraid I cannot help you, friend Fiallain." After she finishes speaking, she looks from face to face, especially that of the strange Aes Sedai. I was asked a question. I do not speak out of line, yes?
In her appraisal of the others, Alathea starts at the realization that she has missed a face; that had not seen the strange man lurking in the corner. This one looks as if he wishes to be anywhere else. I can understand the wish. Curiousity overcoming her caution, she breaks her silence again in hopes of finding out more. "Although some introductions have been made, we are largely still strangers, yes? As Fiallain has said, I am Alathea, Accepted of the White Tower. May I know with whom do I share this room?"
Amorial Suth |
"Whether Lord Sneed opposes the White Tower I do not know. The Ogier that I was forced to combat claimed that it was at his residence that they are staying. Thus, I must assume that he is allied with them somehow. There was also a human with them a Tsoran, a strange human to say the least who has traveled to places I have only heard whispered about. Most disturbibg is what the Ogier said to me. He told me that my people, somehow he considers myself and Ogiers like me a bree apart, [i] 'are the ones who have fallen from the path'. He claims we were 'charged with ensuring the protection of Valdar Cuebiyari Ta'veren, and that it is now missing'. He then claimed that his Ogier 'have maintained our guard over Valdar Cuebiyari Tai'daishar'. And that they have done so since the time of Luthair Pendrag'. I do not recollect a Luthair Pendrag. To say the least what he has told me is quite strange. These words do not translate in a meaningful way for me, at least not yet I must think on them further. I have agreed to give this Ogier time to mourn his fallen brother but then I am to come find him at this Lord Sneed's manor where we will do final battle. I would prefer to speak with him or better yet bring him before my elders and question him at length about his claims. Tell me Aes Sedai is there some way that yo can restrain him with the one power long enough to transport him to Stedding Tsofu?" Amorial nods to Alathea, Well met Accepted Althea. I am Amorial Suth of Stedding Tsofu".
RIZZENMAGNUS |
The door opens up, and you see a maid standing there, looking very anxious. Darting glances about, you see that she has a pale look upon her face, and very ready to throw up. Her hands tremble as she carries a small basket with a red cloth covering the top.
Stepping into the room uninvited, she stumps up to the table and drops the basket on it. Turning quickly, she vomits up her stomach all over the floor, heaving till her spasms brings her too her knees.
Fiallain Bo'airr |
Fiallain grimaces slightly as she reaches for the basket, half knowing already, or at least srrongl suspecting what it contains. Calmly, she asks " would someone help that girl ,please?
While the maid is still turned away, she lifts a corneer of the red cloth to reveal what lies beneath.
Alathea Sedai |
Even as Fiallain speaks, Alathea rises to her feet and hurries over to the serving girl. Kneeling beside her and whispering soothing assurances, she pulls the girl to her feet and back through the door to the hallway. "This is no place to be sick, yes? Let us sit down somewhere more comfortable, and perhaps you will feel better..."
Alathea guides the girl to the nearest reasonably private chair or bench and sits her down gently. Settling next to her, she wraps the girl in a level 1 Delving weave and asks gently, "Are you well? What is the matter, girl?"
RIZZENMAGNUS |
Shaking from the wretching, the maid responds in a timid voice.
Someone took her. One moment she was making the bread, and the next, she was gone.
Looking up at everyone in the room, she leaps to her feet and shouts You are Aes Sedai. Nothing like this is supposed to happen in your presence. How could you let this happen?!! HOW COULD YOU She ends with her breath ragged and her voice on the edge of hysteria.
