Just noticed Snap marked a movement line

As Snap moves around the cage Rocket is in, she sees another woman standing to the left of Aegis.

Frickin. Frackin. Force Walls.

Quick Q before Violet's next action: Mind Scan is a targeting sense. Can Violet, now that she has a lock on Queen, relay that location information to the rest of her team? I would assume so, and if she can, would that reduce their PER penalties? Obviously they still have to see through the illusions, etc, but they'd have a better chance, since they know where she "should" be?

@Violet - It would help with non-targetting perception rolls, but it would still leave them with penalties. If they pierce the illusions, then they don't need it. It would really be useful for area of effect blind attacks, but that's it. @Snap - No, as soon as your action is done, the illusion snaps back and you have to penetrate it again.

"Brain Drainer!" The 16 say almost simultaneously, making the room echo with the noise.

The music changes again, and Pulse sees an angry looking white tiger in the mirror, stalking toward her reflection from behind.

???: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 4) = 8

Attack 1: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) = 11
Attack 2: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7

Just as the tiger in the mirror leaps and smashes her reflection into the ground, a paper tiger charges through the mirror and slams into her at full speed, claws ripping and mouth snarling silently!

Damage, Tiger: 2d6 + 1d3 ⇒ (6, 4) + (1) = 11
Damage, Tiger: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8

Location, Tiger: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) = 5 Head!, 11 body, 55 stun

KB: 22 - 3d6 ⇒ 22 - (4, 6, 3) = 9

Attack vs Violet: 3d6 - 5 ⇒ (1, 3, 4) - 5 = 3 Hit!

Damage vs Violet & Pulse: 9d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 2, 4, 5, 6, 3, 3) = 35 35 stun 10 body

Pulse is hurled backwards and Violet has a split second to realize that the image of Pulse coming out of the mirror is real, and not fake, when it slams into her and her shield at speed!

Pulse takes 35+8=43 Stun from the pair of hits, con stunning her and knocking her unconscious, then her body slams into Violet, doing another 15 pts on top of that. Violet takes 11 stun from Pulse's body. Pulse drops out of the mental link network, but Violet can feel that she's not really injured, just overwhelmed

Vioet, Mud, Aegis, Etc.

Reminder, Pulse's defenses dropped when she hit the ground, so if anything like a fire were to start now, she'd take damage with no defense, also any further attacks will hit her with no defenses.

Violet? You haven't bought your mind scan out of your multipower yet, so... how are you mind controlling while maintaining the slot?

I thought we previously established that I could get the lock and then attack, but not get the lock, do something else, then attack? IE: I know at the start of Segment X that Mind N is "right there," and can attack it, but if I do anything else I have to lock all over again? If I'm wrong I'll change up my action.

Also, my own fault for making the Scan a Multi, the Illusions a Multi, but not the Control. But then, Violet doesn't like using Mind Control. It makes her feel the wrong kind of powerful, sooo...

For the record, what's the minimum number of dice you'd want me to use to keep the Scan active once I have a lock? 2?

We established that with the multi's, as long as you kept a minimum in the scan, you could activate the illusions at the reduced power. But because of the mental defense they have, your minimum on the scan doesn't leave enough for the illusions to work. To get the other attacks to work, you have to buy the other slots up to multi as well.

Okay, can I attempt to hit her with the Mind Control without the lock? Visual? "I think she's right there, because that's what I thought three seconds ago, so I'm going to try to tell her what to do." kind of thing? If not, I'll revise. Sadly, my edit window has lapsed so I'll have to make a new post.

Unfortunately, mental powers are line of sight. So you'll need line of sight or lock on combo. You'll have to make the perception check to pierce the illusions to get an attack off. These guys aren't tough, but they are hard to hit because of their combined powers messing up everyone's line of sight.

Violet squints and looks around the room before giving her little speech to Queenie. (repeated here from above)

Assuming that I can use the same rolls, I hit an ECV of 8 and got a base effect before any defenses, of 43, and have spent 15 END this turn so far. Pushing is rough, man.

"No, I can't take the chance Brain Drainer." Queenie responds, in octet. If she didn't have the extra defense, you'd have had her, but whatever it is that's inside her head is interfering with your attack.

Then her voice changes. "Stay out of her head, thank you very much." Her voice is extremely precise and clipped, but with no recognizable accent.

"Hey! Stop that!" She says indignantly.

Sorry Mud, my response to you got eaten

Mud oozes under the door of the elevator, and drops to the bottom of the shaft with a splat.

He finds himself on the first floor, behind the curved glass wall.

37/37 Stun | 46/46 End | 8/23 Body | Unfired Brick

::You're right. Nothing going up on the second floor.:: Mud thinks with disappointment.

::Maybe the elevator goes to the basement with a security code.:: He moves from the stairwell into elevator shaft and splats on the bottom. But, no access to the basement.

::Crap. No quick access to the basement. Good thing this bank is insured.::

::So, I'm thinking Jester is a paper-manipulator. Like a Magneto for paper. I think that heavy thud that I noticed a few seconds ago near Queenie was Jester densifying the paper around Queenie with one of those walls like Rocket to protect her. Queenie is an illusionist. And, it sounds like Brain Drainer is riding shotgun in Queenie's head.:: Mud hypothesizes.

::So, I'm thinking about grabbing that wall around Rocket and throwing it at Jester. Cause, I think I'll have to batter that wall around Queenie. I'll need someone to spot the real Jester for me. Otherwise, I'll throw Rocket's wall at Queenie's wall and see what gives first. Anyone have a better idea? :: Mud tries to strategize.

Male Energy Projector (fire)

::Right, I'm coming in, then. I can at least give the Jester a bit of a worry, I'm thinking. The other two…not so sure.::

I'll just hope that the building's fire suppression is up to task, he thought.

If the window's shattered, I'm doing a direct half-move fly until I'm inside next to the big number "6". If not, I'll use the door like any other sensible person and half-move five hexes inward.

No, you can do something else if you like. As you approach the front door, you can see confetti and paper dust in the air.

Male Energy Projector (fire)

Okay, got it.

::Actually…no, not the front entrance. The air looks literally too volatile right now. I'm gonna swing around to the building's north side. I think there's another exit they might use there.::

Paper dust in the air? Might as well be misted gasoline as far as I'm concerned, he thought. Let's get some altitude while I'm at it

Okay, if I'm reading the map correctly, the North side has another ground entrance and possibly a deck of some sort on the second floor. Blaze is going to swing around to that side, and rise up to second floor height so that he might cover both levels, if need be. That'll take a couple of phases, even at 20" flight.

The paper stays as hard as steel for a few tenths of a second, falling down around Rocket like shards of glass, but before they can slice him up, the paper returns to it's flexible normal paper form and instead of turning him into hamburger, it just adds to the swirls of confetti.

Post 12 recoveries for those that get them, punches land on Phase 1

"Woot!!" Rocket crows. "Thanks yall, go teamwork!"

Telepathically, he says, :: I wonder if I can deprive Jester of her paper. It seems like that might really cramp her style. Let's give it a shot!::

With that, he swirls into a blur of motion, attempting to shovel as much paper as possible out of the room and the air.

PS General Assembly (clean up): 15 - 3d6 ⇒ 15 - (2, 4, 2) = 7 Using rapid tasks to counter time penalties.
