What do I do with my Chronicle Sheet?

Sadly, upon arriving to the game shop yesterday I discovered that the scenario being run was one that I had already played. What's more, the only legal character I had for the level range was the one that had already played in it.

As it was a repeatable, they allowed me to sit in anyways with an iconic pregen.

Now I'm at a loss as to what to do with the Chronicle Sheet or who to apply the credit to. It was for a 3-6 level game, and the iconic I played was 5th. I'd like to apply it to my -2007 character, but they only have 8 XP from GM games (I've yet to actually play -2007). None of my other characters fall into the 3-6 range either. Is this going to be a problem? I'm not sure what to do with the credit or what the established rules/guidelines might be for this kind of situation.

You have two choices:

1. Apply credit immediately to a level 1 character (who hasn't played the adventure).
2. Assign the chronicle to a level 1-5 character (who hasn't played the adventure), but only apply credit once they reach 5th level.

If you choose to apply credit to a level 1 character:

Characters do not benefit from any Boons or item unlocks on the Chronicle until they reach the lowest level allowed to play the adventure.

If you choose to assign the chronicle to a level 1-5 character, but wait until level 5 to apply credit:

Complete Downtime and earn all rewards on one Chronicle (following the order above) before applying the next Chronicle. Downtime checks use the skills of the character who is receiving credit for the adventure at the time the Chronicle is applied.

In the latter case, the order of application seems confusing to me unless it means to do that for multiple chronicles of the same level.

Otherwise you could end up with a 5th-level chronicle applying before a 3rd-level chronicle, which just seems all kinds of screwy.

Surely it's level, then play order?

Yes. The passage is talking about a case in which you have 2+ chronicles that were "in stasis" that you are now applying all at once.

I was under the assumption that, due to the nature of treasure bundles being different than gold earned, we could apply the chronicle sheet to whatever character we wanted so long as it was at or below the level for the scenario. If you earn 10 treasure bundles in a 5-8, but apply it to a level 3, you just apply the level 3 gold per bundle and move on from there. Am I misunderstanding the rules?

Caveat, I'm coming at this from the perspective of a GM, which may have different rules than playing a pregen.

You can give it to any character of that level or lower, but you either set it to level 1 rewards and give it to a first-level character or you keep it at the pregen's level and hold it until the character reaches that level.

Setting the chronicle to w different lower level isn't an option.

So if you apply it to a level 3, it gets 5th-level treasure and the player didn't apply it until that character hits 5th level.

Where might I find the rules governing this?

I'm definitely going to need to reference them later.
