Spell Gems and Summoning

Rules Questions

Casting a summoning spell is a full round action.

When you utilize a spell gem with a summoning spell, does it's use require just a standard action before the summoned creatures appear, or does it still require the full round action?

Spell gem rules say you have to use "at least" a standard action even if the spell they encode takes less. That implies that that a full round action spell still requires a full round action when cast from a spell gem.

Agree with Xenocrat, but, just to point it out: there are elemental gems, which are explicitly a standard action to use (and don't even require you to be a spellcaster!) but only work for summoning elementals, and are +1 item level higher than the same level summon spell would be in a spell gem.
