I mean, if you take into consideration she was being manipulated by Ordeith and corrupted by the ruby dagger all the stupid crap she gets up to kind of makes sense.

She's not great even from her first appearance but her dumb moves after becoming Amyrlin can be chalked up to influence from the DO.
