Good day to everyone,

I am new to Starfinder and Pathfinder as a whole.

I recently jumped off the deep end and got badges for me and my partner for PaizoCon 2023.

I've been looking at some threads but I am unable to find if I have to start at Level One or if I go a few levels higher to be able to join Starfinder Society games.

In essence what I am asking is, do I need to start level one or can I be varied. I've already signed up to some starter games but I was unable to get some in the starting days and I do not want to be limited to just playing on Sunday and Monday.

Thank you for any assistance, and sorry if I am breaking rules and I need to lurk more too.

Welcome to our Starfinder Community! I am so delighted to see you.

You are breaking no rules. We are always delighted to have newcomers post. Please come back with all your questions!

If you want to play your own characters, you will be limited to level one. However, Starfinder has pregens (pregenerated characters) that go up to Level 8, meaning that you will be able to play in some higher level games using a pregenerated character and that character will act as a stand-in for your own.

The chronicles from those higher level games can be applied to your own level one character, just reduced to level one cash, so you'll be able to potentially advance your characters during the convention. As someone who will be GMing Starfinder games, I look forward to potentially meeting you!

Hmm

Hello new person Handy Links these should boop you onto the learning curve

If making your own characters you start at level 1.

Most of the society games are on roll20. If you're new to that and I can see your character somehow ( a pdf, a cel phone picture of your paper and crayon) I can put them on roll 20 for you so you just click the token, get button pop ups, and they do their thing.

Thank you HMM,

Thank you for your post it helped with a lot of confusion

Me and my partner are very excited to try and I believe I may have been able to get into one of the games you are GMing on Sunday. It'll be our first time and we can't wait.

Big Norse Wolf, thank you for all of those resources, I will be pondering over them this weekend!

Have a great weekend everyone.

Rainhroi -

Oh you'll be at my Sunday table? Awesome! Please introduce yourself to me! You should know that my table will not be using Roll20. I use Google Slides and the Discord Rollem bot for dice rolls, to create a rather simple VTT. But it's one that I'm good at and it doesn't interfere with my storytelling so I've kept with it for VTTs.

Hmm

Hi HMM

That all sounds great, I'll introduce my partner and I when we're playing.

The slides and discord sounds good as I we have not had much VTT experience. We usually play games locally.

If I have any questions, I'll ask here again.
