If you have a monster statblock that says

Spell-Like Abilities (CL 19th; concentration +25)

Constant—holy aura (DC 24)
At will—flaming sphere (DC 18), heat metal (DC 18), meld into stone (self only), soften earth and stone, stone shape
5/day—cure serious wounds, flame strike (DC 21), move earth, spike stones (DC 20), stone tell, summon nature’s ally V (earth and fire elementals only), wall of stone (DC 22)
3/day—earthquake, fire storm (DC 23), heal, stoneskin, wall of fire

Is that 3 earthquakes, 3 fire storms, 3 heals, 3 stoneskins and 3 walls of fire per day, or is is 3 (choose an effect: earthquake, fire storm, heal, stoneskin, wall of fire) per day?

I have always read this as 3 of each effect... However, am I right?

3 of EACH spell listed per day.

I could dredge up a designer comment but it is also in the basics. Nothing is said as it is 3 per day for one effect or multiple effects, considered obvious. Otherwise it would say, "3 uses per day among;" or something similar. Another option is to list each under 1/d or 2/d or list the uses after each ability. At times people overthink the obvious as the writers try to keep it simple.
For wording examples see various uses per day options in deific obedience. Note each has "{ability} use/d," and the last an "or" creating a list of mutually exclusive options.

I honestly had always read this as 3 casts from the lists of things...but I'm open to that not being right.

It doesn't really come up for player options, and if I as a GM wanted my monsters to have additional uses to cast...we'll I'm going to do it anyways.

It comes up fairly often for a monster summoner. I've never been sure which way was intended, but hope it's meant to be that many uses per spell.

Gnome Magic: Gnomes add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against illusion spells that they cast. Gnomes with a Charisma of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, ghost sound, prestidigitation, and speak with animals. The caster level for these effects is equal to the gnome's level. The DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell's level + the gnome's Charisma modifier.

Gnomes get spell like abilities, and the description in the core rule book follows the same wording. Can they use each ability once per day, or do they only get a single use spread among them? I have always used the once per day per ability.

The Drow creature stat blocks says "1/day—dancing lights, darkness, faerie fire."

The Drow PC stats say "Spell-Like Abilities (Su): Drow can cast dancing lights, darkness, and faerie fire, once each per day, using their total character level as caster level."

So, if this holds true for all creatures then they can cast each of those spells the indicated number of times a day.

I found something in the bestiary:

Quote:

Spell-Like Abilities: After listing the caster level of the

creature’s spell-like abilities, this section lists all of the
creature’s spell-like abilities, organized by how many times
per day it can use the abilities.
Constant spell-like abilities
function at all times but can be dispelled. A creature can
reactivate a constant spell-like ability as a swift action.

Emphasis mine.

I read that as meaning that a list of spells under 3/day is a list of spell like abilities that can each be used 3 times a day.

Drow on AoN THAT text is available, and Shade Magic which swaps the 3 spells and says the same thing. So there it is.

reading both the gnome magic race ability with the gnomish spell Recharge Innate Magic which say:

"You regain one use of all 0-level and 1st-level spell-like abilities you can use as a result of a racial trait."

if it was only one use per day there would be no need to say "all" it would say "the daily use" or something akin to that.

also 'regain one use of all..' mean that normally you have one use of all...

@zza ni that is my point. Gnomes do get to use each spell once per day.

yes i know, but since the format was similar to the one the op brought, anyone who read the monster states as 1 of the following sla per day and not each, could read the gnome the same way.

which is why to support you i brought the gnome spell that show it talked about more then one spell per day.

Gnome on AoN
... gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, ghost sound, prestidigitation, and speak with animals. so abilities, each once per day.
in Alternate Racial Trait there is a lot of use of either forms;
> Bleaching Magic the text spells it out (long form) rather than use the shorthand.
> Faerie Dragon Magic replaces the 3 spells in long form.
> Fell Magic uses the shorthand.
> Fey-Tongued uses the long form.
> Genial Magic uses the shorthand.
Note also that the spells vary in level, the listing of spells seems alphabetized rather than by level.

Recharge Innate Magic:T1 really has nothing to do with how the line for Sp abilities is formatted or what it means. We have to assume the writer was well aware that racial SP abilities came in a variety of levels and uses per day.
