In VampByDay's optimization guide for the Psychic class they wrote here, they mentioned that an Osscilating Wave Psychic would be a GREAT thematic fit for QftFF, able to represent Sister Cinder's warming and purifying power as well as the harsh cold of the Frozen Flame itself!

Part of me'd like to play that kind of character, but part of me so feels like it's a little too "main-charactery." I feel like characters in this AP should feel a little more humble to really play into the themes of found family and unifying for survival...

I doubt that would be a problem, assuming you build a mechanically-balanced party and share the spotlight with other players.
