I've had an idea for a Magus build, that maybe shouldn't work, but I think it does. An Eldritch Archer + Kensai Magus.
As far as I can tell the two archetypes are compatible (by RAW), does anyone see a reason why not?
The idea is to hold a single-handed gun in one hand and a rapier in the other, while wearing a Glove of Storing. At the begging of turn (free action) store the rapier (to have a free hand for loading), shoot, then at the end of the turn (free action) un-store the rapier (to gain Kensai bonuses).
Unless I missed something, this should have all the benefits of an Eldritch Archer, while also gaining the Kensai Int to AC, Init and num. of AOO as well as other feat selection goodies.
The build is:
Elf, Mindchemist Gun Chemist Alchemist 2/Eldritch Archer Kensai Magus 9
STR 8
DEX 16 (+2 racial)
CON 12 (-2 racial)
INT 18 (+2 racial) [+2 levels]
WIS 8
CHA 10
Traits:
Magical Knack (Magus)
Reactionary
Wayang Spellhunter (Snowball)
Drawback: Paranoid
Feats:
Weapon Finesse
Combat Reflexes
Point Blank Shot
Precise Shot
Discoveries:
Chemical Stability
Equip:
Glove of Storing
Headband of INT +4
Belt of DEX +4
+3 Pistol
MW Rapier
Cloak of Resistance +3
Wand of Mage Armor
When casting a ranged spell you deliver it with your +5 Distant Pistol, as a touch attack up to 40ft. Adding 1d8(bullet) +1d6+INT fire damage (Alchemical Ordnance).
This leaves 2 unselected Feats + 2 unselected Magus Arcanas
Any suggestions?
What do you think of the build, is it valid (RAW)? Is it cool (or am I the only to think so)?
